  1. Up close, Downs is unremarkable. He might be a major leaguer, but not a big time performer. Duran has big time pop and speed. He may have problems being consistent, because he looks to me like he tries to pull everything. Casas has great bat speed. He could develop into an elite hitter. I like Arrauz’s bat, good life in his bat. I have heard good things about Yorke’s bat from people who have seen him play at tournaments etc. Conner Wong has big power. I look forward to seeing him develop. What we don’t have in the pipe line is a lot of good arms.
  2. One more team would make 10 — a good size for a fun competitive league without having to research obscure minor league call ups to fill out your lineup card.
  3. You have to catch it before you can throw it.
  4. On his way to being a bust.
  5. Trying to make this into a good defensive team would be like trying to make Benji Molina into a base running threat.
  6. Maybe he was talking about wearing masks.
  7. He was on a minor league deal. Maybe he just wants to pursue a major league spot. It sounds like he requested the release.
  8. Edwin Encarnacion remains unsigned, but we have Marvin Gonzalez.
  9. Nats released Jeremy Jeffress for personal reasons. He’d be worth a bullpen spot.
  10. Richards has been damaged good for 5 years.
  11. Trading Sam Travis was a panic move.
  12. In the world of gems, Kike is sandstone.
  13. LOL! I heard the interview, while my head was buried in taxes. He is a screwball.
  14. It would be great if we get one more team to make a 10 team league. Then I could finalize the number of teams. It is fun and it only requires enough time each day needed to submit lineup changes — not a lot more. Thunder, MVP and I are multiple time champions, so it doesn’t take a team of scouts and advanced metrics. If making out a daily line up card is too hard, it would explain why so many people defend the idiot MLB managers.
  15. Tanaka had a very solid career with the Yankees and proved to be very durable.
  16. Some guy on the Dodgers was pitching today with one eye open. Maybe it was Gonsolin. Afterward the field announcer pointed it out. I am paraphrasing his response which was that if he could get hitters out with one eye opened, it would be easier to get them out with both eyes open. The announcer then asked if he had a reason for it (i.e. keeping one eye closed). He said "definitely", and that was it. LOL!
  17. Please send in your dues if you haven't already done so.
  18. I have received confirmation from 9 teams so far: 1. Boys of Summer 2. Rounding Third 3. Notorious P.A.P.I. 4. Didi Gleyborius 5. Bundy’s Bums 6. Iortiz’ Crew 7. Moises Mooses 8. Scott’s Team 9. Renegade BX Bombers I am still waiting to hear from: 1. Braves Team 2. Manny’s Marauders 3. Bartolo Colonoscopy
  19. i am reminded of Ben saying, “I am happy with our pitching.”
  20. He gives us a solid rotation of 3, which is one-third better than last year.
  21. Ward has a cool first name.
  22. You are supposed to build your teams around generational talents like that, not trade them for spare parts.
