  1. The Yankees are doing what opposing teams are supposed to do to the Orioles— beat them to a pulp.
  2. “Three games into the season, it is time to reassess. The Red Sox aren't sneaky anything. They are plainly, straightforwardly, forthrightly horrible.” ”Stinky gross”
  3. You said that Kimbrel sucks now. I said that he looks to have regained his velocity. That was my conversation.
  4. If has his velocity, he should be okay. He can’t fool anyone on his slider in the dirt unless he has the high octane.
  5. My 90 plus loss prediction is looking like a good and conservative prediction.
  6. His velocity is reportedly up. I didn’t say anything about resigning him, just that he looks like he may have straightened himself out, and he isn’t that old.
  7. And don’t forget Trey Ball! To paraphrase Bob Gibson to Tim McCarver, the only thing that Ben knows about pitching is that he can’t hit it. That is not a rich list of pitching talent. It is pretty pathetic.
  8. I like it better than what we have. At least we could watch Mookie, Devers and JD wreck lots of pitching staffs.
  9. I saw Kimbrel close out the Cubs victory on Sunday. I have to say that I didn’t recognize him. He has long blonde hair and a blonde beard. Wasn’t he previously a ginger complexion guy with red hair?
  10. Richards has not pitched in a full season since 2015 and he got banged around in ST, so there is no reason to expect much from him. Taylor is a pile of trash. But let’s get all excited about Garret Whitlock. LOL!
  11. The pitching is going as I had expected it would go— both the non-existent rotation and the pig pen. The fielding has been no surprise either. The lack of hitting had been a surprise, but they will hit— just not enough to overcome the pitching. They got a good jump on my predicted 90 losses, although I did think they would finish ahead of the Orioles.
  12. Announcers seem to think the ball has substantially less carry this year than in recent years. If that’s the case the teams with good pitching and D will dominate. And the value of making contact will be more pronounced than in past years.
  13. probably more than that, but if they want to get talent in return for JD, they will have to discount the contract beyond his market value.
  14. Sox would have to eat 2/3 of his contract.
  15. The Defense on this team is atrocious.
  16. Cora will wait until the team has slogged through 2 months of subpar offensive support like he did in 2019 when he let Benintendi ruin the offensive production for the first 2 months of 2019.
  17. We should be pummeling Harvey.
  18. I always liked him.
  19. JD will mash. He had a slump last year and not enough games to reach his norms. plus: if we trade him, the Sox would probably have to pay 2/3 of his salary, so it will not open up as much payroll as you might think.
  20. i can’t watch a 90+ loss team. I have better uses for my time. I am not asking for much, just some competitive games. Getting rid of JD will not accelerate the rebuilding plan imo.
  21. By the time I was old enough to watch baseball, there was no issue of integrating the game. Sports was one of the few aspects of life where performance did the talking and the BS didn’t matter. So, no, it is not the topic that distresses me. I am not even following that legislation. I don’t live in GA, and I barely follow my own local politics. I just like to enjoy the beauty of the game. The rest of life happens for me when the game ends.
  22. The fan base which our GM is doing a good job of losing.
