MVP is not sarcastic or funny. He is just a prick who gets his ya yas attacking people. He hasn't been here for two days, no discussion of these troubling events, nothing. He just drops in to call Fred an ******* and me a slimy prick. If that misanthrope and coward wants to go down that road, he had better be prepared to have his ******* opened after every one of his posts.

911 was a bit different, Youk. For a couple of days after 911, there were lots of rumors and several evacuations. One or two nights later the Empire State Building was evacuated and the people were told to head toward one of the rivers. That was pretty scary and disconcerting. There was palpable fear of additional attacks. Fighter jets were flying over head night and day. Baseball shutdown across the country out of mourning and respect for the dead who hadn't even begun to be identified. However, the city remained open and mainly operational. NYers went to work the next day, and we volunteered our time after work and on weekends.

I would do it only after being properly deputized by law enforcement. I do know how to handle a firearm quite responsibly. Only Yankee fans would be in danger of getting caught in any crossfire. I might use a couple of them as human shields if things get tough.

If the Red Sox game gets canceled because of these two jackasses, the second guy should get beheaded in front of Ted Williams statue. What happened to not letting the terrorists win? I checked the PawSox box score to see if Ortiz was in the lineup tonight. He went 1 for 3 with 2 k's. Rubby De La Rosa had his third terrible start in a row. His ERA is at 13.50.

He's the best defensive outfielder that we have after Victorino. He's the perfect late inning defensive replacement. Once Ortiz comes back, either Nava or Carp lose all of their ABs. Until yesterday, I would have bet on Carp getting sent out, but Carp looks like he can do some damage to RH pitching. His natural position is first base so he can spell Napoli as well as play some LF in Fenway.
