  1. I understand the need to give Ortiz a day off, but not against a RH trash can like this who would be meat for Big Papi.
  2. Middlebrooks is having a hard time staying over the Mendoza line.
  3. You won't last too long if you let it get to do that badly. It's a very frustrating game much of the time.
  4. They take the lead as Kawasaki (Who the hell is he?) gets a hit. Dempster's pitch count is high. He needs an easy inning.
  5. The few that have an IQ over 2 digits, become enamored with themselves and start to believe they are geniuses and over manage every single game. I couldn't watch games managed by LaRussa. He ridiculously over managed every game.
  6. Victorino almost had a little trouble by the wall. He lost his footing and got very little on that throw. It looked like he might fall down.
  7. I didn't say that I don't like him. I just have very little regard for the intelligence of all managers. They are all pretty toopid.
  8. Yes, nava is hot now. Put him up there. Drew has been hitting lately too. He could be moved up. The best way to get production from a lineup is to have your best hitters bunched together at the top of the lineup. Ellsbury is not one of our best hitters right now. He is continuing to send out a lineup that doesn't have the best chance of success. f***ing idiot manager. They all need brain transplants.
  9. I don't understand the rigidity with regard to the lineup. He doesn't have to bench the guy, but move him to the end of the lineup and let him find his groove there where he can't wreck the top of the order.
  10. And their better corpses will be returning.
  11. It is baffling to me that the Sox are playing at almost a .600 clip and we are tied for second place behind the Yankees who are old, battered and bruised. WTF!
  12. I am going to miss having a catcher that can gun down base runners.
  13. Lavarnway has been hot in Pawtucket.
  14. What are you talking about? Turning backs? WTF?
  15. They are going to start stretching him out this week. He has been limited to 50 pitches up to this point.
  16. They are treating Bailey with kid gloves. I think they are on pins and needles about him staying healthy. He hasn't even thrown off a mound yet. He has been tossing on flat ground and moving back 20 feet each session. They want to get him to 150 feet before the get him up on a mound. It could be a while before he is back closing. We should have quite a few late inning horror shows before he is back. IMO, they should look to get a healthy closer. If Bailey returns, he would be a nice set up guy. If not, they still have Uehara and Tazawa for the 8th.
  17. Even this lineup without Papi should have enough to beat up the Jays starter. Who the hell is Jenkins?
  18. Ellsbury is still in the lead off spot and Papi is getting a rest.
  19. A good article analyzing the cost of replacing Papelbon: http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2013/05/the_rising_cost.html
  20. He wasn't a fit for us. no one is asking that. He was our discard our trash and he is providing tremendous value to our arch-enemy. If Nava hadn't played so well, I would have been frosted that we didn't send Nava down and keep Overbay just to keep him from the Skanks. A blind man could see the Yankee move a mile away. They had no first baseman. He had no place on our team.
  21. Napoli will get $13 million if he stays healthy. Overbay will make $1.25 million.
  22. Better value-- Napoli or Overbay?
