  1. He hit the wall very hard. Bruised ribs will put you on the shelf for a while too. They don't need to be broken. It will hurt like hell when he swings. He was a gamer to stay in the game after the injury. That's more than the pampered princess Ellsbury would have done. I guess this means that Nava will be the everydau RFer for a while. Hopefully, he keeps up the good work in the field and he continues to hit. I expect that Carp and Gomes wil share LF. Our OF D will take a hit in Victorino's absence.
  2. A healthy Hanrahan was a dominating pitcher. Batters were helpless against him. That is the pitcher that we expected. I suspect that his elbow was starting to come apart last year hence his spike in walks and poor performance at the end of 2012. Without him and Bailey the pen will be a mess. They need to get a healthy closer, or we will witness a lot of late game fiascos, and with this inconsistent offense we can't afford not to lock down late leads.
  3. The pen is a mess with both Hanrahan and Bailey out. De La Torre is garbage.
  4. Middlebrooks' hitting has been very disappointing thus far.
  5. Bells, you are my kind of fan.
  6. You twisted kook.
  7. To tell them that they stink?
  8. Oh, I recognized the quote. See my profile. I have a Fever Pitch quote in my profile.
  9. Someone in that locker room should have stood up and told that stupid inbred fat jackass that when Mo tells someone to shut up, they shut up.
  10. Yep, that's right. That's why us old guys are so cyncal. It's much easier if you expect them to break your heart.
  11. In a game like this, I would have left right after the 7th inning, because my blood boils when the clueless bastards sing that stupid saccharin song. I especially get nauseated by the men singing it. I want to scream "Act like a man!!"
  12. We are getting bitch slapped by a last place team and a replacement starter and they are heartily singing Sweet Caroline at the 8th inning. Repulsive.
  13. HYes, it was a PH situation to lead off the inning. You PH for him if there are some guys on base and you want to get insurance runs.
  14. What an idiot!! The Yankees should trade his fat sorry ass.
  15. More stupid manager tricks. Davey Johnson pulls Gio Gonzalez after 7 innings and 86 pitches in a brilliant 1-0 performance where he gave up 2 hits. Of course, Storen allowed a run in the 8th and the game is tied. Unless Gio has a blister or a physical issue, it is just another example of colossal managerial stupidity.
  16. That last pitch to Ellsbury was right down the pipe -- a total cookie and he missed it by a lot-- at least 6 inches. WTF! He looked like a blind man swinging at that. Earth to Farrell! Earth to Farrell!! Let some one else make the line up tomorrow-- maybe a sports writer.
  17. Salty swings early in the account, because he needs 3 swings to make contact.
  18. 7- run rule in effect. Farrell learned it from Tito.
  19. They are bitch slapping Dempster's soft serve stuff today.
  20. We are not even working this pig's pitch count.
  21. Looking at the shot of Napoli talking to Ortiz in dugout, he looks taller and bigger than Ortiz. That is one big guy. It's no wonder that he hits the ball so far.
  22. He's staying in the game, but i would not be shocked if it hurts him to swing and he has to leave the game.
  23. Back up OFer needed. If we lose Vic, he's our best defender.
  24. This jays pitcher should be getting his arm iced already. I don't know how we haven't unloaded on this guy.
  25. Ellsbury gets on. Maybe he will start to get in a groove.
