    We rescued a crippled dog from a Shelter in West Va. She's an Australian Shepherd/mutt. She is a sweetheart, but she was a little unruly at the beginning, but is great now. However, she is a big barker.

    The challenge for the Red Sox is that the MFY's continue to roll despite crippling injuries; the Orioles may be the best balanced team in the division and the Rays will probably not continue to play this poorly.

    Fred, As King of TalkSox I decree that you must take your dog for an additional walk each dayn that you give it an extra treat and a belly rub after a Sox loss. The poor doggie shouldn't be stressed while you are watching baseball.

    Fred, you may be somewhat senior to me, but the 30 additional years of fandom have taught me to expect frustration from our Red Sox. Although people think we agree on everything, as Spring Training was ending your fandom was getting the better of your reason. You were upbeat and optimistic about the teams chances. I predicted a 4th place finish (possibly last if things went terribly wrong). The team is in a tailspin right now, but they are doing better than I had expected so it isn't eating me up. Do yourself a favor. Lower your expectations for this team. I think the best we can expect is a competitive team that will still be in the hunt for the second WC when September rolls around.

    He hit the wall very hard. Bruised ribs will put you on the shelf for a while too. They don't need to be broken. It will hurt like hell when he swings. He was a gamer to stay in the game after the injury. That's more than the pampered princess Ellsbury would have done. I guess this means that Nava will be the everydau RFer for a while. Hopefully, he keeps up the good work in the field and he continues to hit. I expect that Carp and Gomes wil share LF. Our OF D will take a hit in Victorino's absence.

    A healthy Hanrahan was a dominating pitcher. Batters were helpless against him. That is the pitcher that we expected. I suspect that his elbow was starting to come apart last year hence his spike in walks and poor performance at the end of 2012. Without him and Bailey the pen will be a mess. They need to get a healthy closer, or we will witness a lot of late game fiascos, and with this inconsistent offense we can't afford not to lock down late leads.

    The pen is a mess with both Hanrahan and Bailey out. De La Torre is garbage.

    In a game like this, I would have left right after the 7th inning, because my blood boils when the clueless bastards sing that stupid saccharin song. I especially get nauseated by the men singing it. I want to scream "Act like a man!!":lol:

    We are getting bitch slapped by a last place team and a replacement starter and they are heartily singing Sweet Caroline at the 8th inning. Repulsive.

    More stupid manager tricks. Davey Johnson pulls Gio Gonzalez after 7 innings and 86 pitches in a brilliant 1-0 performance where he gave up 2 hits. Of course, Storen allowed a run in the 8th and the game is tied. Unless Gio has a blister or a physical issue, it is just another example of colossal managerial stupidity.

    That last pitch to Ellsbury was right down the pipe -- a total cookie and he missed it by a lot-- at least 6 inches. WTF! He looked like a blind man swinging at that. Earth to Farrell! Earth to Farrell!! Let some one else make the line up tomorrow-- maybe a sports writer.
