  1. We have 2 closers and neither one can keep the job due to injuries. I guess Uehara gets to cloe until they make it back. Forearm tightness is never a good thing for pitchers.
  2. Nava has been very good from the right side this season.
  3. No, they don't. They can react whatever way they want. It's a message board. Those who look to censor others are insufferable. Talk about baseball, not posters.
  4. I think that he got DL'd after today's game.
  5. If Pedey was in a hot streak, it would be a different story. They took advantage of our weak links. That's what good teams do.
  6. The glove wag is annoying.
  7. it is pretty amazing to me that we got off to this hot start with Pedroia playing so far below par. IMO, he has been the guy that makes this team go for several years already. When he is hot, we win a lot. He has been really cold, and we are winning a lot. He will turn it around, and in the words of Ortiz, someone is going to pay. As for this weekend, Texas is a really strong team and we have played competitively against them with the bottom of our rotation (probably the weakest aspect of our team). They have not blow our doors off. Last year, they would have pummeled us.
  8. Welcome to TalkSox. If possible you should get to Fenway. Lots of tickets are a vailable this season. You will see plenty of changes since your last visit.
  9. Bailey caught a break with Hanrahan's hamstring problem. He won back the closers job, and now his never ending injury bug causes him to lose the job again. It doesn't matter to me which of the two closes. Either one is light years better than Aceves.
  10. Is Bailey's bicep still bothering him.
  11. Those who run football seem hell-bent on ruining the sport. One former football player made the remark that if they want to take the head out of the game take away the face mask. No one would lead with the head anymore.
  12. He broke there. Beltre was not the guy he wanted to face with the bases loaded.
  13. The pitch count is ridiculous for 4 innings. This is grueling 4 innings.
  14. He is a battler. He bends but rarely breaks.
  15. Is it the drop in his velocity that is making you think he will be heading to the DL? Sometimes pitchers continue to build arm strength and velocity during the early part of the season.
  16. Is this from a lack of conditioning, wear and tear, or an injury?
  17. It's hard to argue with the bottom line, but it looks to me like they may have crested with the revenue and the continued bad economy will cause a sudden and precipitous decline in revenue.
  18. As long as it makes money, they will have it. The sport is just reflecting the slow death of the economy that has been dying for years. Watching games around the country, it seems to me that attendance is down all over. Maybe the figures show otherwise, but there seem to be many more empty seats than in past years.
  19. I think you could have gotten a sick day if you had a doctors note.
  20. It is becoming the injury du jour. It changes from season to season.
  21. I guess the HR Derby holds a certain appeal for the pink hats and casual baseball fans when there is nothing else on the tube.
  22. I'll do something else unless Ortiz is in it.
  23. [quote=Dojji;836598Yes. Yes it would. It would also be perfectly legal as long as that substance was rosin. If Buchholz rosined up his glove arm so he wouldn't have to go back to the bag and break the pace he wants in his game that explains almost everything.Yes, agreed, but what about the sugar from a powdered doughnut. Sticky stuff.
