  1. We have a thread to discuss the ManRam trade. The deadline is 4pm EST tomorrow
  2. Did you expect him to come in and be GOD? You do realize he changed leagues and it takes time to get used to seeing a different pitcher every night that you've never seen before. Another example of RSN jumping on the back of a player that doesn't deserve it. Can't we just be happy that we're in first place ... can't we ever be happy? Cantu G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG 2005 95 374 46 109 25 1 15 64 181 11 51 1 0 .319 .484 .291 Huff G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG 2005 99 367 44 99 17 2 13 63 159 31 62 8 4 .330 .433 .270 Guess what? I looked at the numbers. Guess who the better player is this year? If you're plan was to come on here and ruin your credibility in 4 posts ... mission accomplished
  3. God Damnit leave Manny the hell alone. I don't understand how you can get on a guy who's been the best player on your team for how many years? All because he wanted a god damn day off. I'm really starting to get pissed off at about half the people on this board. LEAVE HIM THE f*** ALONE. I don't care if he crawls to first base when he hits a ground ball. I dont care if he hits a pop up and walks right back to the dug out. As long as he's hitting 40/100+ every year then I don't give a s*** what he's doing anywhere else. If he wants to take a lounge chair out to LF with him then I'm fine with it. This is why Manny wants to leave, because of fans like you critizing every f-ing decision he makes. Maybe you should think more about how he got a hit in every single game last post season, and think less about him taking 1 GOD DAMN DAY OFF when we're in first place ... IN f***ING JULY!
  4. Sorry bro but theres no way we're trading Rents. So many people have been bashing him this year, and he really doesn't deserve it. Plus tradining our only SS and our best 2B makes little to no sense. We don't have middle relievers to spend. Why would the Drays trade their best player(cantu)? No way we're getting Baez for a reliever and a prospect. Look the Drays suck but that doesn't mean they're gonna trade their 3 best players.
  5. I ... This is ... But theres ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAA When did the Yankees become the Pittsburgh Pirates?
  6. With the Suns he'll never be able to reach the expectations set by their fans after this season. In ATL there are no expectations so anything he does will make him a star. Good enough reason?
  7. Right but Manny doesn't have a history of being injury prone. Benson came up through the Pirates system which means he's going to have arm problems throughout his career (see Jason Schmidt, Oliver Perez, Kip Wells, John Lieber, etc). I'm done talking about him unless he winds up on the staff ... in which case I may kill myself.
  8. I agree. When I heard Byrnes was coming to the Pirates in the off season I felt kind of bad for him. The way he plays he deserves to be on a winning team.
  9. Well if the plan tonight was to showcase Bronson mission accomplished.
  10. Right until Benson gets hurt again. Then you have $5,333,333 a year down the tubes. Trust me I watched Kris for a few years. He has peaks and valleys. When he's at his best he's one of the better pitchers in the league, but eventually he'll turn back into the real Kris Benson and not get out of the 3rd inning in a few games in a row. I don't care what you have to say about Kris Benson. You do not want him on your pitching staff period.
  11. Yes I understand that but what would you do in his situation. I don't care what job you do if you're told you have a day off you have it set in your mind that you're off that day. Then all of a sudden that day comes and your boss asks you to work. How would you react? You wouldn't wanna work right ... not even if it was something important. You may have to go in because you can't afford to get fired, but Manny wont get fired. If Manny felt he needed the day off then he gets the day off. I think he's earned the right to make that decision.
  12. Don't let Chacon's numbers fool ya. I think he's got decent stuff, and remember he pitched in Colorado. But he's definatly not the caliber pitcher the Yankees are acustom to in the past few years
  13. BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Orioles attempted to improve their stagnant offense Friday night, acquiring Eric Byrnes from the Colorado Rockies for Larry Bigbie in an exchange of outfielders. Byrnes was hitting .189 with five RBI in 15 games since being traded to Colorado from Oakland on July 14. With the Athletics, however, he hit .266 with seven homers and 24 RBI in 59 games. "We think he's someone that comes with a lot of energy," Orioles executive vice president Jim Beattie said. "It's a new personality in the clubhouse. It changes the mix a little bit." The Orioles desperately needed a right-handed hitter in a lineup laden with lefties, and they're hoping Byrnes can provide some punch to an attack that failed to score more than three runs in nine of its first 14 games since the All-Star break. "He has power, he gets on base, steals bases. He's an aggressive player," Beattie said. "He'll try to do things to help you win. When you put that with our club, I think it's a good match." The Orioles also hope he can provide a boost in the outfield. "Defensively, it would be a big uplift," Beattie said. "He plays hard. He bounces off walls. He doesn't leave anything out there." Bigbie, the Orioles' first pick in the 1999 draft, hit .248 with five homers and 21 RBI. He was removed from Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox after three innings; his final at-bat for Baltimore was a strikeout. In four-plus seasons with the Orioles, he hit .271 with 31 home runs. Beattie will continue to work the phones until the non-waiver trade deadline at 4 p.m. ET Sunday. He believes this deal was one that will help Baltimore in the short term, and over the long haul. "We're still trying to improve the club," he said. "In doing so, we did something we wanted to do to help the club for this year but also for the next couple of years."
  14. Manny DID NOT refuse to play. Tito told him he had the day off a week before.
  15. Any trade with the name Kris Benson invloved is a bad trade unless you're the team trading him.
  16. I'll take Nevin and a prospect for Mark Redman and Kip Wells
  17. Don't forget that Benson is injury prone, and has never lived up to even half of his hype. He's not having that bad of a year though 7-3 3.14 ERA 62K/25BB. Looper isn't all that bad, he just isn't a closer.
  18. It doesn't matter how nice a guy he is. He's a Yankee, and that means just about everyone that doesn't live in NY hates him.
  19. I didn't hear it directly. My friend said he heard it on ESPN Radio
  20. Well to the site, and the winning team. I'm surprised the evil empire didn't have a life time hold on you.
  21. From what I've heard Plan B might be Cameron, Looper, and Kris Benson
  22. Hey Gammo is the senior baseball analyst for ESPN. Watch your mouth.
  23. Or Theo is just working on one of the other 5 possible trades for Manny
  24. Time to close the door Curt
  25. The San Diego Padres first baseman confirmed that he has been traded to the Rangers for right-hander Chan Ho Park. Nevin says he will fly to Toronto on Saturday where the Rangers play the Blue Jays. This trade really makes no sense to me at all. The Rangers are hurting for SPers to they trade away one of the few that was getting results for them.
