  1. Forget everyone else on the list. I was just upset seeing Rocket at #1 . I mean he's great he's near the top of my list, but he won in pinstripes. So that was my problem, but I decided that as long as Pedro is top 3 I dont care how you rank anyone else. P.S. Hey Petey keep kicking ass in NY and just build up those numbers for the day you go into the HOF ... wearing a Red Sox hat.
  2. Uh ... I dont even know where to begin with how wrong that list is. There is no way that 3 pitchers from our generation are top 3. Roger Clemens is no where near the best pitcher of all time. Maddux is no where near the 2nd. Pedro is probably right around 3rd as his WPCT and K/9IP and I believe something else stand 3rd all time. Maybe you should have made the top 5 pitchers you've seen list. No Cy Young? No Walter Johnson? Grover Cleveland? Warren Spahn? Christy Mathewson? Sandy Koufax? I could keep going and going. Everyone of the guys listed there are more qualified to be #1 and #2 than clemens and maddux, and I could probably name 10 more. EDIT: I just saw that it said "My top 10". So if you ment that they were your favorites then I apologize. If you were listing the most qualified ... then read that ^^
  3. They wouldn't lie but you can appear to be fine after a head injury and then suddenly ... not be fine. I think they're just going to play it safe and even if he's fine he'll sit atleast a week.
  4. Ok man I think we both need to chill out. Clearly we're both worried about whats more important, Hammers health. And yeah you're right about Schilling ... my bad. I never said that you doubted Hammer being our ace. I quoted you so I could make my first point. Hammer being our ace was directed at those people who doubt him, not you. Hammer should actually be less scared now, because the chances of the same pitcher getting hit twice in one seacon in the head are so slim that they're not even worth discussing. I understand that he will be scared though because that is human nature. It just depends how long it takes him to get over it.
  5. I don't really see why you guys are cutting up on the kid. By the looks of his picture he's probably about 12 years old. I think we should all just be really happy that he doesn't type like most 12 year olds OMFG!! I ES R0X0RZ!!!! YERR!!!!1111111111 Give the kid a break. He came up with an idea, maybe a bad one, but still its just an idea. If you don't like it just say you don't like it. On a side note: Crespo AHHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!
  6. How can you say the best thing to do is to take the season off? He may be fine. Why would you want somoene who is perfectly fine taking the season off? Yes, I agree that if he is seriously injured or doesn't feel comfortable then he should sit the season out. However, if he is healthy he should come back, because he's the ace of this staff. Say what you want about Wells, or Schilling(who hasn't even started a game this year) Hammer is our Ace, and we need him back. I doubt Theo spent one second thinking about who was going to take clements place in the rotation. If he's a human being then he was thinking about the health of Matt Clement, and spent the night hoping/praying that he would recover. Baseball isn't everything guys, it's a lot, but it isn't everything. BTW in his career Wade Miller is 20-6 in the 2nd half. So when Schilling comes back to the rotation we may not need another starter ... even if Hammer isn't able to pitch.
  7. I'm not saying that he wouldn't take them. I'm sure if he were a lesser player he may have thought about it, but A-rod is one of the best hitters in the league, and has been for a while. There are 100+ players that I would accuse of steroid use before A-rod
  8. I would sooner trade Manny for a bag of oranges than make a trade for any starting pitcher on the Pirates right now who's name isn't Zach Duke.
  9. If you're trying to say that A-rod is on roids then I think you need a reality check. I hate the guy too but lets not make statements that have no truth to them, just to take a dig at A-rod. A-rod was hitting 40 HRs when he was skin and bones in Seattle. Like I said I hate the guy but don't make false allegations.
  10. Oh I wasn't attacking you or anything. I just like pointing out the short comings of Pirates. Any time I hear Redman, or Wells, or Lawton, or Ward, or whoever mentioned in trade talk I like to quickly let everyone know that you don't want anyone that plays on the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  11. You absolutly do not want Mark Redman on you're team. Not only because lefties usually struggle in fenway, because he blows. I understand that he's playing for the Pirates and I guess that makes life hard, but come on. This guy has completely fallen apart in the last 2 months. I don't understand why any team in the league has any interest at all in Redman. I'd be more interested in Kip Wells because atleast he still may have some upside. Redman is a below average pitcher, and he's only going to get worse. I guess the change of league may help him, although he did pitch in the AL last year. He been completely pathetic in half of his last 10 outtings and only good in a few. I don't really want to see Jason Schmidt in Boston either. If Clement is going to be out any length of time I'm a little worried theo might panic and just take what he can get. Hope not though.
  12. This, coupled with the fact that they were calling about Mark Redman from the Pirates, makes me love what the Yankees are doing right now. They're basically acting like the Yankees always do. Going out and filling needs with name players. Just now those name players are past their prime, and being released by other teams. If Nomo is the answer to the Yankee pitching woes than maybe I should try out for the team.
  13. That's really one of the reasons I started liking the guy. He played for the Braves so I did hate him at one point, but I eventually learned to love him. If you never watched baseball before and you saw maddux on the hill you'd think the cubs were in trouble. He looks like he should be teaching a class, or mixing chemicals, not winning 15+ games for the last how many years. Maddux is proof that you don't even have to throw 90mph to be one of the best pitchers of all time. Second best right handed pitcher I've seen in my liftime. Sorry Greg but Pedro's gotcha beat.
  14. It's nice to see that most of the Yankee fans over there have enough respect to give Matt their well wishes. Some jag offs compared his injury to Wang's ... whatever sense that makes. But for the most part its a nice statement from our hated rivals.
  15. more like a split second
  16. To those who ask how you can go on ... you just have to. It's happened before in baseball and football and hockey. Someone goes down with a serious injury like that, but you have to keep playing. "The game must go on"
  17. Usually if a player is OK when he's going off the field he gives a thumbs up ... or some movement in his hands. He looked motionless the entire way off the field aside from his eyes being open and him talking. It hit him right behind the ear. So not in the temple but he could still be in very bad shape.
  18. Why do we have to blame someone every time we lose? Oh its Tito's fault! Oh its Schilling/Wakefield/Trot/Millar/Bellhorn/Whoever! Can't we just lose a game without pointing fingers? That's what a good team and good fans are supposed to do. How come every time we lose we have to blame someone? You guys didn't think we were going undefeated this year did you? Cause you sure act like it after a loss.
  19. I don't understand why you Yankee fans would want another aging player nearing the end of his career ... who is going to want a big contract. Don't you understand this is what got you guys in the position you're in now. Anyway, Johnny isn't going anywhere until the season is over. Theo knows that Johnny is going to have to be on this team if we have any hope of repeating. Now after the season Theo might let Johnny go if theres a younger option at CF, maybe someone from the farm impresses him enough, or the fish let pierre go, or hey how bout Matsui if the Yanks don't pay him? I love Johnny but I don't want to see us in the same position as the Yanks are with Bernie. I know there's a difference in age, but you never know when a guys legs are gonna go. I'd rather be safe, and maybe a little worse, than sorry, and a lot worse. I'm kind of scared that Johnny will leave and put up another monster year next year, but I think it'll be better for the team in the long run.
  20. All these people saying they respect Giambi for going through hell to get back ... WHY!? He's the reason he was in hell in the first place. No one held him down and made him take steroids. It was his decision. He decided that he would cheat the game to make as much money as possible, and thats what he did. I don't see what respect you could have for him. You do understand that if this Balco thing didn't come up then Giambi would still be using roids. Like I just heard on Mike and Mike "Why is it that people are always sorry once they are caught?" I didn't accept Giambi's half assed apology a while back because it was just a big pile of s***, because he really didn't mean it. If he actually felt bad about what he did then he would never have done it in the first place. Giambi cheated every pitcher he hit a HR off of, every player he made more money than, every team he helped the Yankees beat, and every fan of baseball. I don't think one "I'm sorry" is going to make up for any of that. Infact, I don't think there is anything that can every make up for that. Giambi could cure cancer and I'm willing to bet that almost every baseball fan(aside from the fake ass bandwagon jumping ... We love you when your good Yankee fans) would still hate him.
  21. ... damnit ... damnit to hell.
  22. Great play by Schilling to get the lead runner
  23. Well by the looks of his performance tonight he's filling our K quota ... you know since bellhorn is out.
  24. Lou wants a pinch runner. Then he doesn't. Then he does. Come on Lou.
  25. Hell yeah Boom deserves this win. Good s*** Johnny ... now lets get some insurance.
