If you can't get Wickman why not go after Mesa. You know the Pirates will give him away for nothing, and although he hasn't been perfect this year (24/27 4.03) most of his troubles came in games that he came in losing, or in a tie game. I think that he can still be very productive for the rest of the year, and changing leagues can only help him. The Pirates are ready to move (former Red Sox) Mike Gonzalez to the pen as soon as he's healthy, so they'd be more than willing to move Mesa ASAP.

I can't believe you guys have been talking about this since before Christmas. I've heard so much about this trade that I'm starting to think it's not happening. 9 times out of 10 when a trade is talked about this much, for this long, it doesn't happen.

STL and the ChiSox have already ran away with their divisions. It's over there, they're both in the playoffs already. I love Ecks just because I'm a little guy and I know what it's like to have to work twice as hard as everyone else to be out on the field. He's a fun guy to watch, and has more energy than anyone in the league.

Again, how do you know that? How do you know he even spent 5 minutes with mattingly? You don't. You're just believing what Giambi, a guy that lied to you in the past, is telling you. When I look at his swing I see the same one I did in april. The only difference is that he has enough bat speed to catch up to the pitches so he doesn't look so bad when he swings and misses. Improved bat speed doesn't come from a hitting coach.

Welcome, and if we're gonna talk about college football ... watch out for Pitt this year. Tyler Palko, our QB, was named Big East preseason player of the year. Our RB was named to the All Big East preseason team. And on top of that we have a kick ass coach. GO PITT!

If Tony G can avoid striking out every other AB then I'll be just tickled pink with him. I think that just taking out the frustration of watching Horny strike out twice a game will be enough.

Can I ask you who here has been anti-Yankee? I'm pretty sure everyone who said they think he's still on roids said it has nothing to do with him being a yankee. Can we get the annoying ass cry baby Yankee fans removed? Note: That doesn't apply to everyone ... just certain fans. Just like America ... if you dont like it ... you can get the f*** out.

It's definatly not getting in the way of me enjoying baseball. I still enjoy watching the sox every chance I get. Still enjoy watching the Pirates every 5th day to see Zach Duke. I still enjoy a 0-0 game going into the 9th inning. I still enjoy double plays, and strike outs, and homeruns, and everything about baseball ... aside from the people that attempted to destroy it. On a daily basis I don't give Giambi a thought, but if the topic is going to come up I'm going to voice my opinion. schillingouttheks that is what I said in one of my other posts. I said that people saying he is on roids, and people saying he isn't have the exact same amount of evidence.

You were insulting me because you said "good fans" would be behind him or whatever. Calling me a bad fan is an insult. Right I guess it would be if we were 100% sure he did it legally. I don't care if Giambi walked to my house and handed me his check for this season ... I'd still hate him, and think that he is on steroids. Like I said earlier this has nothing to do with him being a Yankee. I hate Barry Bonds even more and I could give two shits about the Giants

You have just as much proof as I do. You can't say that he's off steroids unless you're with him 24/7, which you're not. You're gonna try and insult me because I dont want to get behind someone who cheated the game I love? I'm a bad fan because I think that a known cheater is still cheating. I apologize for not having faith in someone that spent, atleast several years, lying to me and every other fan.

I'd be saying the same thing if Giambi was on the Red Sox. Don't try and play that, we're only saying this because he's a yankee, card. I believe knowing that he used steroids before is enough of a "smoking syringe". I don't know what else to think about a guy who suddenly lost a ton of weight, and couldn't hit, then suddenly put on weight, and can hit. I can accuse anyone of anything as long as there is some backing too it ... and their obviously is. It's not like I'm accusing him of something that is outside the realm of possibility. I don't think i need to remind you again that Giambi did cheat for, who knows how many years. Also back when all the steroid talk was going on I heard a lot about how it will be difficult to test for steroids because new forms of steroids can be created every day. So even if he is tested and is clean it doesn't really mean that he is.

You don't have the biggest drop off in the history of baseball, and then all the sudden snap out of it. I dont care how good people claim mattingly is as a coach, no one could turn Giambi around. Unless that man had drugs. I still haven't heard a big name caught by MLB so I'll continue with my theory that they are not testing the big names, or they're not punishing them. Anyone notice that Slammy is back to the size he was when he came into the league? Anyone notice that Giambi looks like he has been gaining size lately? Anyone notice that Sammy still sucks while Giambi is playing great? I don't think it could possibly be more obvious that Giambi is back on some kind of steroid.

That makes no sense. The guy said that if he's traded he'll make that teams life a living hell. How much more of an endorsment do you need? Sheff wants to be a Yankee when he retires ... how does that make him an anti-Yankee? I'd question A-rod if you're gonna talk about an anti-Yankee, because this guy was talking about how much he'd love to be with Red Sox not too long ago.
