I know people seem to have a hard on for Soriano for some reason but I dont want him. Sure he has a nice bat but he wants to play 2B and he's horrible at it. I don't want a liability at 2B. Just want to correct myself ... I was in a rage. He is 23.

My expectations for him were much lower than yours seem to be. He's coming 4 weeks of inactivity ... he's playing the best team in the league ... in their house. I hoped he could come in and build confidence with short/mid range stuff, and take some shots down field. He took an occasional shot down field and it was clear that his timing wasn't there (example: throwing behind Hines Ward when he was wide open. And late to Cedrick Wilson on his leaping catch.). He had no choice but to rink and dink and he did it well, but couldn't do much else. If we could have established any kind of a running game we would have had a much better chance. This team isn't built to throw 30 yard passes. We only pass when necessary, and when we do it's mid range mostly. Passing is not the Steelers game, and Ben rarely puts up gaudy numbers.

AGAIN ... HIS TIMING WAS OFF ... watch NFL Live today and see how much they talk about Ben's timing being off and that being his main problem. OH yeah ... NEWSFLASH: The guy is 25 f***ing years old. How good are most 25 year old QBs in this league? ... if I was building a team and age wasn't a factor there would be 50 QBs I'd take over Ben. Didn't say Ben single handedly beat any of those teams, but he either led big drives which put us on top or he led big comeback drives in those games. If you're going to bash him for what he did last night then you have to give him credit for winning some games as well. You can't have it 1 way ... either you give him credit for his wins, or you don't bash him for his loses. 4 weeks out is an excuse because you don't have your timing. It's impossible to simulate NFL game speed in practice and thats exactly why he was going to his last reciever earlier.
