  1. Cabrera and Dontrell = Perez and Bay Dontrell and Cabrera can only do so much. I dont see them losing 100 games but they'll get damn close. 95-100
  2. Very happy to hear that. I think Ballgame and Casey's leadership will really help mold the Pirates young clubhouse.
  3. Really. He's been around for a while. Who hasn't heard of him?
  4. Yeah I just heard about Cmart. The guy grew up in a neighborhood 5 minutes away, and went to my HS. I've always liked the guy, and actually was hoping he'd retire after last year, so he could go out on top.

  6. I hate when athletes who have have done nothing in their careers start their mouths. Does Lyle Overbay think he's some great piece to the puzzle thats going to spark the Blue Jays and help them leap frog 2 teams that have been in front of them for quite some time? Riverside is right. Did BJ Ryan seem to I think they've made almost 100 Million in mistakes this offseason, but left Lyle think what he wants.
  7. I think if Manny gets traded Marte is going to get first crack at LF.
  8. They did a horrible job of defending JJ. He was able to get open whenever he wanted. All this game did was prove Texas doesn't deserve #2.
  9. Redman being traded and the 2 Mill the Reds are reportedly sending us will mean we're only spending about 400 thousand more than we were before adding Casey. Look for more pitching to be on the move. Kip Wells, Josh Fogg, John Grabow. There hasn't been any talk yet but I could see the Pirates potentially either moving Sean Burnett, or John Vanbenschoten as well. Littlefield said only 3 pitchers are untouchable Oliver Perez, Zach Duke, and Paul Maholm.
  10. After thinking about it more, the only way this trade is going to go down is if a 3rd team gets involved. If theres a team willing to give up possibly 4 of it's top prospects for Manny theres a chance this could happen.
  11. The only reason to bring Nomar back would be for sentiment and sentiment doesn't win championships. Every time this gets brought up you're going to get the same response. Try listening to it ... absorbing it ... and realizing it is the truth. Nomar left on bad terms, and will NOT be brought back.
  12. I think he's going into the HOF as a Yankee as he won his championships there.
  13. Wow I want Tejada as much as anyone but why are we suddenly turning into the Yankees trading away all of our top prospects?
  14. That was a valid excuse when he had 15 errors but his error total was incredibly high. Theres no way the he had more range last year than he did in his entire career. If anything he has lost a step. This is coming from someone who loves the guy and was completely against trading him.
  15. I've never really thought Manny was going to be traded, and have been against it from the begining, but I will admit I would trade Manny for Tejada. Manny and Tejada are unhappy and we could change that. I dont realistically see it happening, but like I said I wouldn't be against it. If hell froze over and a deal got done either by 3 way or straight up Manny for Tejada it would open up a spot in LF for Marte which would actually make the Renteria trade seem like a great move. That's exactly why I think it wont happen ... everything just seems too perfect.
  16. I think things have just been set up too perfectly for this to work out. I don't know that the O's will move Tejada. A source close to Tejada, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Tejada would like to be traded to a team on the East Coast, and mentioned the Boston Red Sox as a possible destination. sorry that I don't have a source for the story but it came to me via IM from a credible source.
  17. They don't listen to reason. I've been trying to tell them since the first time it was mentioned.
  18. I'd rather have instability than Nomar back.

He'll be 29 in a few months. I think this would be much better than trading for Lugo. Eventhough his power is down from recent years.
  20. Yeah I've seen them but did you see what I said? We have absolutely no use for him right now. There is no where for him to play in the bigs. If you look at his ETA it's 2006, and I think having him in AAA is a waste and may even hurt his progression. Instead of making a move to reduce our needs to 1 ... we increased our needs to 3 positions. None of the FA SS are better than Edgar on their best day and his worst ... another reason this is a horrible move. The sentimental pick is obviously Pokey. For a team that looked like it was trying to win now (trading for Josh Beckett) it doesn't make sense to make a move like this because it's a move you make when your building for a future. We are clearly not in the business of fore fitting seasons to win in the future.
  21. We will definatly regret trading Edgar when he has his comeback year this year. Moronic move considering we have Lowell and Youk to play 3B and still no CF, SS, or 1B. First bad move we've made this offseason and this is a HORRIBLE move. I'm really disapointed in Sox management.
  22. Rumors are Shoppach will still be used in a deal. Another rumor is that Tony G may be brought back to play/platoon at SS if Rents is traded.
  23. I really like the idea of keeping Tony G any way we can. He appears to have plenty of range and although SS and 2B are very different positions I think Tony G is more than capable.
  24. I don't think I want Damon for 4-5 years. If I'm signing Damon it's for no more than 3 years. His speed is going to keep speadily declining over the next few years and by the 4th year he would be 36 and likely not a very effective leadoff hitter anymore. If he can't be an effective leadoff hitter than the lists of cons with johnny way out weigh the pros. I don't even like a 3 year deal to be honest but I could live with it.
  25. Just to be clear every infield isn't the same and there are a thousand variables even on a major league infield. Yes the dimensions are the same, but everything ranging from the height of the grass to a single pebble affects the infield. I'm not making excuses for him, and I wouldn't. Your statement was just inaccurate.
