  1. Yeah I know we are every year yet somehow we end up in atleast the elite 8. SI, and ESPN can blow me. They just print whatever will get talked about the most and everyone who doesn't like Duke always says they're overrated so thats what they print. Question. How can we be the most overrated team if we completely dominated, and blew out the team ranked #2? Wouldn't they be more overrated?
  2. 1. Duke (66) 9-0 1,793 2. Connecticut (5) 7-0 1,703 3. Villanova (1) 6-0 1,653 4. Louisville 5-0 1,522 5. Memphis 7-1 1,432 6. Texas 8-1 1,379 7. Florida 9-0 1,267 8. Oklahoma 5-1 1,260 9. Illinois 10-0 1,233 10. Gonzaga 6-2 1,216 13. Boston College 6-2 821 Not a mainstay anymore
  3. 2B and SS are not that different. Throughout local and HS baseball I switched between 2B and SS and the transition is fairly easy. A 2B has several responsibilities so assuming the responsibilities of the SS is not very difficult. The only change is on the double play and longer throws. As long as he has a strong arm he'll be fine moving to SS.
  4. Well we acquired a perenial Cy Young contender who is 25, and a 3B who as long as he doesn't play like last year is a perenial all star. It was a great trade. We gave up Hanley who could be great and got Beckett who is already great and Lowell who could be great again.
  5. Theres no way this can be true because the sox wouldn't have agreed. If it is true and we took him anyway this was ... umm ... just a really really s***** move.
  6. Riverside posted that this morning.
  7. If he's smart he signed a contract long enough to assure himself that he's still there after Bonds retires, because if not he'll never have a chance to win anything in SF.
  8. I just don't understand why you would want Lidge and Berkman. Yes Lidge has been very good, but like someone said before we have Foulke, Timlin, and Mota ... and don't forget Hansen is waiting in the wings for the closer job. I just don't see how Lidge and Berkman are worth Manny.
  9. I think his decision will be made by the WBC. If he goes out and dominates then theres a better chance that he comes back. But if he is anything less than amazing he'll hand 'em up.
  10. I'd say upwards of 17 Mill. I figure he'll get almost 20 Mill.
  11. You can cheer for your team without mentioning any other teams. There was absolutely no need to bring up the Red Sox or Yankees.
  12. What we need to do is ignore morons like Lyle Overbay and worry about baseball. The better team will come out on top. Talks cheap.
  13. You're right you don't have to be a great player to be a great analyst but you do have to have a knowledge of the sport. 1 Michael Irvin cancels out anyone good they have on the channel.
  14. Oh well ... it was too good to be true from the begining
  15. Well I think providing stats is better than saying "oh I know more than any of you" if you don't think we know who a player is.
  16. Well Lemieux wants a new arena, and deserves one. If we would just agree to the new arena the Pens wouldn't go anywhere. He applied for a slots license so the arena wouldn't come from tax dollars. The city was awarded the right to have slots, and now the governement is trying to screw Mario out of his arena. He applied for the license and it's been stolen away from him. If he doesn't get the arena I hope he moves the team, because after all he has done for this city he deserves better. Trust me he absolutely does not want to move this team.
  17. Well see I think it's too early to tell about BC because it's way too hard to predict the actions and play of an entire team. It's much easier to predict what a single player will do.
  18. ... I think you combined the names of Curtis Martin and Reggie Bush there.
  19. I still don't think you can call them a mainstay when they haven't even played 10 games. I don't think it's premature at all. They are very clearly the best players in the nation. Someone would have to set the world on fire while both of them took a step back to even have a chance at the POTY. If JJ wins everyone will bitch and say he doesn't deserve it, and if Adam wins everyone will suck his ass, so I'm really not looking forward to that award.
  20. I'm not saying they don't deserve to be a top 10 team, because I think they do. I'm just saying they're hardly a "mainstay" of the top 10. I don't think you can say that until the end of the season. The only team that is a mainstay of the top 10 right now is Duke
  21. I just want to thank KC and SD for s***ing the bed and allowing us back in the playoff picture. Win out and KC loses 1 of 3 ... and all the sudden we're back in the playoffs. HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!
  22. Actually most of the analysts on ESPN know less than the average fan. When you higher 2 mediocre ball players, a mediocre coach, and one of the worst GMs in the history of baseball what do you expect? ESPN flat out sucks. They have no more than 3 employees that know anything about sports. The rest are either mildly entertaining, crazy, or they flat out suck.
  23. I wouldn't call them a mainstay in the top 10. I do however think they can put up a good fight in the ACC and get a top 3 finish.
  24. Ask the Pirates how hoping young players come around works out.
  25. Well, I'd much rather have him come back for 1 year if it's for the Sox, but if he plans to go anywhere else I'd rather just see him retire.
