  1. The cost of Jeff Bagwell. Who really cares man. Weve won 2 WS in the past couple years, and have a very good team this year with management in place to keep this thing going for the longterm. What more do you want than a championship ballclub who has a chance at competing every year? Pedro Alvarez...please, wake me up when he does something in the show until then, Ill throw the Craig Hansen argument at you all day long.
  2. Old man porno freak. The porno link has to be him, it was crewated quite a while ago, and sadly, very funny.
  3. Per WEEI at 0105 hours..... RedSox GM seeking a catcher.......hmmmm
  4. After Lester's last start, I think he (lester) is ahead of Bucholz......Wakefield is not going to battle anyone for a spot, hes earned it and there is no reason to panic with him after a few bad starts, as we've grown accustomed to the results he gives us. Unless he gets hurt, which seems likely at some point this year. I really have to think that Colon is going to be a major part of the rotation, they are really pushing the guy hard, and almost all reports have been outstanding. Hitting mid to high 90s already in his road to recovery? Impressive to say the least. At the very worst, why cant we have Clay pick up some solid innings in AAA and then use him in a role like the Yankees did with Joba last year (IM NOT COMPARING THEM!!!!!) At first they let Joba get his feet wet, and we all know what happened from there. Just a thought, especially with the concerns growing over Timlins timetable, and what he will actually be able to provide.
  5. google seabeachfred. The anount of forums hes signed up to is mind boggling. read the comments, 2 down i believe....seabeach on youtube. The guy will talk to anyone....anywhere....beware. OH MAN!!!!! SEABEACH SIGNED UP FOR A PORNO SITE!!! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA http://board.freeones.com/member.php?u=95867
  6. Agree. Hes had a couple of good games, but even when hes making contact, he still looks awful. On the missed HR (long double) the other day which the Umpires robbed him......if you watch that swing, it seriously looks like its in slow motion. The swing is really terrible. Sooner or later it will be obvious that he cant catch up to fastballs belt-up in the zone, and god knows he likes to chase them, couple that with the fact that any type of breaking pitch down and in on him (batting LH) completely eats him up while he flails at it, and hes got some serious holes in his swing.
  7. Seriously, so sad its almost funny. The guy should retire, and give back the money (although obviously not happening). I guess I admire him for trying to earn 5 cents to the dollar....but seriously Mike, hang them up. Your story is so pathetic you make your respected organization a punch line. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3328362
  8. His stuff is always good, its the other things that hes having a hard time with. I agree that Lester is our worst starter (Im not that high on him) but I would rather see Bucholz get some more minor league innings. Ive said it before, I thought Clement had some of the best stuff ive ever seen, although we saw how that worked out. Bucholz needs some experience, he hasnt thrown all that many minor leahgue innings, let him build up some confidence and experience before we throw him out to the dogs. I was at his nohitter sitting in the RF stands, I saw his stuff first hand, but I would hate to see him fail and never come out of it like Hansen, or Meredith (until the trade). Either way I think in the end though, you are right and Lester will be the odd man out, and become a very valuable trading piece. Everybody loves a LH who throws 95 MPH. Not to mention his determination (cancer) and the fact he won a clinching game in the WS.
  9. Ive never liked Snyder, and Ive never thought he was good enough to have a spot on the team. His role (spot start/long relief/mopup) is already occupied by Tavarez and Tavarez does it a whole helluva lot better. Throw in the fact that at some point Colon will be with the team in a currently undecided role, and either way he will be off the team in the upcoming months.
  10. Promising outing 3/29/08
  11. I agree, alot of what you described is actually DiceK as well, however, DiceK can get away because he has A+ stuff. You said Lester has average to a little above average, I disagree with that.....he has very very good stuff, but throwing strikes is a problem. If he can ever learn how to harness his stuff, he has the chance to be very good. Whenever I am watching Lester, or DiceK, or Lowe, or Clement....its so frustrating, just throw strikes!!!!!Trust your stuff!!!! Clement had some of the best movement I ever saw, but he could never harness it. Nobody made the ball move like him but Maddux. Lester does have the chance to be a very good pitcher, but until then, he will continue to leave games in the 5th ad 6th innings due to pitch counts.
  12. When I look at Lester, I think of a poor mans Andy Pettite, much like Trot was a poor mans Paul O'Neil (although Oneil was the better player by a very wide margain, and besides intensity I never saw the comparison). That being said, Pettite himself has only put up those types of numbers 2.....maybe three times in his whole career (he was also 23 when he came up). Even in his prime, I see maybe 15-10 record with a low 4 ERA. Throws way too many pitches thus far, and walks way too many batters to have consistent success. Pettite has been one of the best LH's in baseball for over 10 years. If nothing else, hes one of the more consistent, you know exactly what you will get, and there are not many other big game pitchers like him. Pettites average season is 17-9 3.83 I predicted 12-8, 4.45 ERA, 1.35 whip, 130K, 26 starts. I think his career averages will be about 14-15 wins, 4.50 ERA.
  13. TV gun had him at 95, Remy said it could have been more like 97 because of something having to do with the mound, or position of the gun or something like that. Either way, the pop was there....just a little off.......
  14. absolutely cleaned out that fastball
  15. Blanton actually had a better year than DiceK last year, and had the least amount of walks per 9 innings in baseball. Had Blanton played for Boston, he probably wins 20 or close to it. DiceK gets ahead by throwing the baseball, then falls behind because he is thinking about where to throw it, rather than just doing it. Hes a bit of a psychological mess sometimes. Hes his own worst enemy. He has some of the best stuff in baseball, no excuse for how badly he misses, or sometimes the inability to snap off a curveball which instead sails out of the zone.
  16. DiceK cannot finish off lefthanded hitters. Last season was the same thing in terms of putting them away early. He gets ahead, and then misses high and outside 3 straight times to load it up. Im not saying he struggles against them, but he should put them away alot earlier.
  17. I think something like .270 15 and 70.....either way, a nice improvement.
  18. New DiceK predictions. 32 starts 100 IP 150 BBs
