  1. Here is my five step plan for you to make the world a better place: 1. Get in car and drive to gun store 2. Buy guns and appropriate ammo 3. Load gun 4. Insert gun into mouth, making sure the safety is disengaged 5. Pull trigger Have a nice day.
  2. Papelbon's only been up to AAA for a month or so. He'll be ready for the jump soon enough, let him get a few more starts under his belt.
  3. This thread already exists.....please make sure that you aren't creating unnecessary duplicates.
  4. I'm not one of the ones that dumps on Jeter. He's a great baseball player. Period. As far as validation goes, I tend to rate a player's performance in the big games. Losing in a team game can hardly be considered solely the superstar's fault. If said superstar shows up big time, performs at very high level, and loses anyway, then I don't think the "never won the big game" moniker can be stuck to them. However, if said superstar fails to show up, then the title may be appropriately applied.
  5. He'll probably go on to break both of Aaron's records and Henderson's record. But he's got a long way to go to get Rose's. Two-hundred hit's a year and he's playing until he's 42 to break the record. I don't see him playing that long. Winning a championship? Most likely if he stays with the Yankees because every year the formula doesn't work, money will be spent on a new formula the next year. How will he be remembered? That's up to him. There are a lot of fans who think statistical mastery isn't worth what you will find in the outhouse if you can't perform when it counts most. DJ isn't the best shortstop playing right now, but he is the one I would want on my team in the playoffs. ARod tends to pull a David Copperfield-esque dissappearing act in post season games when all the chips are down. Do I like him? Never had a problem with, even when he ended up on the Yankees, until the comment, "I thought it was a good play", defending his karate-chop in game 6 of the ALCS. After that, my mentality is "Hey, drop the mirror Narcissus".
  6. Don't give them time to think about it............... http://boards.yesnetwork.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53918 http://boards.yesnetwork.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53907
  7. Schilling was warming up while they batted, .
  8. Let's get a little insurance boys!
  9. I was at the game last night. I sat down the left field line by the Sox bullpen, and I got to see Declarmen warming up pretty close up. He's got a live arm with a great FB to Change differential. Schilling threw 2 innings, 2 days in a row, so I doubt we'll see him. I don't know if Tito will trust a rookie with the lead though. But, I'd like to see him today.
  10. I know what happened with Hendrickson, I was being sarcastic.
  11. Great throw to get Lee by Mirabelli!
  12. I guess the Red Sox just can't finish a series against the Devil Rays without making a 4A pitcher look like he's in the running for the Cy. McClung's 1-5 record and 7.07 era seem like an anomaly the way the Sox have come to the plate in the first two innings. He's perfect, with 4 K's.
  13. Wakey-Wakey K's Julio "I am the human chihuahua" Lugo!
  14. What team doesn't have a head case? At least ours is leading the AL in HR's and RBI's. Take the good with the bad.
  15. Life on Planet ManRam surely has to be interesting, and most of the time for me it's very entertaining. That being said, why in the f*** do you need a day off from lolly-gagging around the outfield and strolling down the basepaths? I've never seen the guy break a sweat. Take the good with the bad I guess?

Let's hope the AC in the dome will let Tim's knuckler dance, and that we can get some run production without three of our biggest sticks in the lineup.
  17. I'm not suggesting that we don't have a chance. I just think our weakest link this year has obviously been our pitching, and it's looking like it will be seriously upgraded from within the system alone, not to mention whatever off-season moves Theo makes.
  18. I honestly don't think this year is our year. With a healthy rotation, our young arms coming up to improve the 'pen, and the run scoring machine, I think next year we have a better chance to run away with it than this year.
  19. Best Red Sox game that I have ever been to in my life. What didn't happen? Glad Matt's alright. Manny Sr. hit the ball well. Manny Jr. had an impressive debut in the 8th. Billy Mill still seems to get more clutch hits than I can count. And the Captain lead the charge. Most Red Sox rally chants were killed by Tampa boos early in the game, but they couldn't silence us in the ninth or tenth. It's kind of unreal to go to an away game and see 60-70% Sox fans. I'll be going again in Sept. for the next series.
  20. I was at the game last night and you could hear the impact, not a pleasant sound, all the way down the left field line by the foul pole. Radio reports have him doing fine, which is great to hear. There were no updates during the game, and my thoughts and prayers were with him the whole time I was there. Get well Matt!
  21. I was at the game last night, sitting down the left field line near the Sox bullpen. I got to watch him warm up, and let me tell you, this kid throws smoke. Let's not get too excited about putting down the Ray's 7-8-9 hitters in order. That being said, he showed good command of his pitches, and his FB/Change differential is enough to tie hitters in knots. He hit 95 on the gun with some gas and followed it up with a 76 mph change. It was an impressive first outing.
  22. Rent hit a comebacker up the middle, the pitcher looked at first like he was going to try and double up Damon and Rent, Stern broke for home and was caught in between bases. Now: Bases loaded, Manny up, 2 out, 3-3
  23. I've only been here a couple of years, and every time they came before I had something going on that I couldn't get away from.
  24. Actually this will be my first time........holy frijoles, wtf stern?
