  1. After reading the last few posts in this thread, only one thing comes to mind. Is it possible to change my username to something totally bitchin' like YankeesAreDefication or NewYorkTrouserBiscuit, because RedSoxPoop has really shown me the light when it comes to creative names that label the oppenent as some sort of sewage. Whatever the mods can do to help me in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Kazmir's one weakness to this point has been his control, but the problem isn't constant, it varies from start to start. Don't worry, every time I've seen Kaz start against the Yanks, he struggles to throw the ball anywhere near the strikezone, so you can pretty much count that game as a 'W'.
  3. I'm going to the game tonight. Beckett vs. Kazmir, how could I turn that down? Jimi's excited too, and he's got some words for the Kaz.... I ain’t afraid of your mess no more, babe I ain’t afraid no more After a while, your, your cheap talk don’t even cause me pain, so let your bullets fly like rain Spoken like a true gunslinger. Bring it! http://photo.sing365.com/music/picture.nsf/Jimi-Hendrix-photo/48256C71003578A24825695F00242EB5/$file/jimi+Hendrix.jpg
  4. He plays central gardener? Cool.
  5. Nice try. Or, are you going to blame the Mets fans for when he got boo'ed against the Braves, Marlins, Guardians, et al?
  6. The biggest snub is Hafner, IMO. Dudes having a moster year. He leads the league in EqA, RARP, and VORP............and that's as a DH! (these are positon relevant stats)
  7. How funny is it that the Stadium fans are calling for curtain calls for ARod? It's so contrived (due to the fact that they were booing him two days ago) that it has to make you laugh.
  8. Omar's mind may change after getting bitch slapped by the AL in inter-league play. Schuerholz probably isn't seeing Smoltz in NY as an immediate problem because they are out of it this year and aren't likely to contend next year. How many years would it take for Smoltz to pitch in NY to be a problem for the Braves after they complete their rebuild? And, make no mistake, the Braves are about to rebuild. The writing is on the wall.
  9. I don't know either, but I picked him up in fantasy. Anyone think there's a chance the Mets would move Milledge for Smoltz? That could be a difference maker for the Mets. Milledge can play CF, which would allow Atlanta to trade Andruw to complete the firesale. If you are going to rebuild, why not go all the way?
  10. They can't outslug the Sox, Yanks, or ChiSox for 4 out of 7 games, IMO. Their best chance will be if the Athletics or Tigers somehow win the ALCS.
  11. Is there any chance an NL team makes the WS interesting this year? I don't think so. The Mets don't pitch well enough, neither do the Cards or Cincy. SD and Houston can pitch, but their lineups are a joke. I think the ALCS is the end of the playoffs this year.
  12. Willie might, just might, be making a mistake trying to squeeze an out or two out of this guy.
  13. Soler blows donkeys. Middle relief battle.
  14. I'm usually a fan of Jon Miller, but he's been pretty awful this game. Why are there no great PBP guys doing games right now? The next Vin Scully needs to hit the booth.
  15. Jaret Wright's 15-minutes of fame are up. He's getting yanked in the 2nd. 1.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K And that's with a guy making an out at the plate by not sliding. EDIT: He's responsible for the two runners on as Villone pitches to Delgado.
  16. Off-Topic, but a follow up. Ruffing is probably the least deserving pitcher in the HOF. He shouldn't make it out of the first round.
  17. That was strike 3.
  18. I know his F% is better, that is why I said he has better hands. However, Cano has better range, so he's probably gotten to at least 4 more balls than Loretta would have. Cano is about 1 run-created better (by VORP) than Loretta. The person really getting shafted is Brian Robers. He's 5 VORP runs better than Cano, and is beating him with a stick in the field. Don't be so defensive about me critiquing your writing style. I meant no ill will by it, but I just thought it was worded funny, that is all.
  19. Doggonit, oh well a run will do.
  20. Countdown to lift-off: 5.....4.....3.....
  21. Probably saved two runs there. Unfortunate.
  22. Jew Power! Keep it going Youk.
  23. Emeril, is that you?
  24. I was hoping they could avoid using Papelbon for 2 innings going into a 4 game series with the Rays, but it looks like they may have to now. Unless, of course, they score about 5 runs here, which would be nice.
