  1. Good, more reasons for managment to think he should be kept on the team. -0.3 VORP going into tonight.
  2. Cantu likes the ball down. I smell a tater. EDIT: Nope, he chases for the K.
  3. ?????? Gameday says Crawford grounds into a force out. Lugo out at 2nd, Crawford out at 1st. What happened?
  4. :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon: :papelbon:
  5. Bye bye, Dye. :papelbon: :papelbon:
  6. FWIW, I don't think the deal will just be for Hansen. And, I don't think he thinks it will either. It would have to be a package. That said, I'd be interested to know what it takes to get the job done, because given the Sox 5th starter problems, it might be worth breaking a few eggs to make that omelette. :papelbon:
  7. Too many? I don't think any would. Jsinger, you are in your own scary little world on this one.
  8. That's just unfortunate. He's really getting some good weak GBs, but that one had eyes. Loretta gets one on the first DP ball and we're hitting with a 4-run lead.
  9. Craig's sinker is looking really good. I like.
  10. One out is better than none, Mahk.
  11. I don't know, it was speculation over at SoSH. He read it, and thinks there's something to it.
  12. Who do you propose to hit in the #5 hole, jsinger? Nobody on this team is really profiling at a typical #5 hitter. Well, maybe Lowell is, but I like having Nixon's .430 OBP up in front of Lowells extra base hits.
  13. Yeah, I can't see how anyone can think Hansen would be more valuable to the '06 team than Willis. Waving the white flag every 5th game needs to stop. Good relief pitchers don't mean jack when there is no lead to protect.
  14. I like the kids. I like the kids a lot.
  15. Craig's done a good job of keeping the ball down with good movement lately. I'd love to see a weak chopper to Cora. BTW, I met Craig's ladyfriend before Monday's game in Tampa. Well, she said she was his ladyfriend. She's a senior at SJU, and is from Boston. I got down to Tampa early, so I decided to kill some time at Dan Marino's, a classy sports bar near the Trop. Anyway, the reason I'm telling you this is that I gleaned a little nugget of info from her. Apparently, Craig, like a lot of the players reads the posts at SoSH. Someone speculated that Theo was in Florida to scout Willis' start against the Sox and that Craig was used a bunch in that series so the Marlins could get a look at him. Hansen seems to think he will be traded in a package for Willis.
  16. Lopez seems to have Thome guessing pretty good. HE GONE!
  17. It's not quite at that level. Grady did the big no-no, he left Pedro in well after 100 pitches against the Yankees. Everyone knew that was something you just couldn't do. Beckett was at 87 coming into the inning. The leadoff walk of Cintron, a complete chucker, should have brought the hook.
  18. Alright, pulse check time. Tito, he's about to juice the bases with no outs.
  19. Anyone see the close up of Youks face in his stance? Youks is fuking intense!
  20. Dougie, you just earned yourself a nice dish of chicken parm. Enjoy.
  21. Why not? That's a regular throw day, and the break is coming up.
  22. You may be right. He could be worth the gamble (money not talent).
  23. And, I read somewhere that he asked for Hughes from the Yankees. When it's this early in the trading season, you always shoot for the stars and hope someone jumps. He doesn't expect that in return, but it's his job to try.
