  1. This just came out of the Rays announcer's cock pocket: "Manny Ramirez is such a disciplined 2-strike hitter, he just grinds out at bats".....then, after the count goes 0-2, "He tends to be overly aggressive in these counts so Shields could get him to chase here." Seriously, these two sentences came out of the same guy's mouth less than 20 seconds apart. This asshat is using up entirely too much valuable oxygen.
  2. Randy Johnson has such an ego. He thinks he's perfect.
  3. Wake up guys. Dude throws 100% changeups with 2-strikes. And, he's started everyone off with a FB. Make him pay for being so predictable. Manny did.
  4. Wake's got that thing dialed up to full shimy-n-shake. That thing is fluttering.
  5. He does have a silly changeup. Everything else he throws is crap though.
  6. I was just about to compliment this kid's changeup, but then he hung one to Manny. Can't do that.
  7. Time to kill something. http://www.markandmeg.com/mark/spear.jpg
  8. Save yourself the pitches Jason and just plunk the first guy up every inning. Hell, they are getting on base anyway, so you might as well make 'em pay for it.
  9. f*** good pitchers. I want one as lucky as this Corcoran guy.
  10. I think it's pretty safe to assume that Johnny said one/some of the things you aren't supposed to say. Gomes is a hot-head, so that shouldn't come as any surprise.
  11. A double steal with a 6-run lead? I hope Bowa wore his Depends because he's probably soiling himself at the thought of running with a big lead.
  12. Seriously. Ideally, Lester should be holding down what is considered the 5-spot because even though he's been effective, he can't go deep into games with his pitch-count/control. Waiter, I'll have the Smoltz. Dude, can we get some real rules regarding domes. What is this, f***ing pinball?
  13. Hehe, I hope it adds to the myth of Melky and buys some more time for him on the roster. -2.6 VORP going into tonight.
  14. Two good bounces for Rocco. Johnson blows.
  15. Is it just me, or does Wigginton look like the kind of guys who's family tree looks like a straight line. What a mouth breather.
  16. Unfortunate that he gave up the run on an indoor hit. The ball doesn't bounce that well off of dirt and grass. That said, Johnson blows. This chucker doesn't deserve another start.
  17. Yup, those media guys really know what they are doing too. I mean, hell, they gave Palmeiro a GG in '99 after he played 1B for 28 games and DH'd for 135. If you think the GG goes to the best fielder every year, then you have a lot of naivete to overcome.
  18. Beating a dead horse here, but most advanced defensive (and the the less advanced) all have Jeter below average as a fielder. He won those two gold gloves for a couple of reasons. First, ARod covers more ground than the typical 3B, so Jeter's poor performance in RF and ZR (typically bottom 3 of the AL pre-ARod) got a little better. And, he didn't have his customary amount of miscues. Basically, he didn't flat out suck. And, as soon as he didn't suck, he won it because he's a supastah who didn't have one yet. He was not the best SS is in the AL either year. But, it's pretty much a popularity contest, and everyone knows this, so I have no problem with him winning it. I do find it funny when it's used as evidence of his skill though.
  19. Here's my original quote. Two days ago, five days ago.....my point remains. Please explain how whether or not it was the Mets fans makes a difference in regards to what I'm saying, because at some point in the last week, the Stadium fans were booing ARod.
  20. Project Donkey. That guy is a beast.
  21. 16-1, YS might get a new avatar tonight.
  22. Felix Doubront is another promising recent IFA to go along with Soto.
  23. This guy is the quintiscential choker when it comes to pitching against the Yanks. Don't get your hopes up about him pitching a gem. Look at his one start against them this year. Five days earlier he shuts us down in Fenway, then he pitches in the Stadium and can't find the plate while giving up 4 in 5. Oh, I'm confident he'll find a way to look like Matt Clement agaisnt our rivals, he always does.
