  1. BOOM GOES THE THUNDER!!!! That's what I'm talking about Papi. EDIT: That ball was smoked.
  2. That doesn't matter. Hitters need ABs not scouting reports to know a pitcher. Some of them may have had a handful in ST last year.
  3. HBP. Looks like bad Wake tonight. I don't like when facing a good rookie pitcher that nobody has seen before.
  4. Touche. Sanchez has a pretty good bender to go along with that silly change up.
  5. And, he gets out of it. OK, let's give Anibal a rude introduction to MLB hitting.
  6. Big K there. Two down.
  7. It's contagious. AGon throws the ball into RF trying for the DP. No outs on the play, 2nd and 3rd with one out.
  8. WTF, Belli? They are going to steal some bases on Wake, that always happens, but don't throw the ball into CF.....and, the run scores on the ground out.
  9. Moehler gets hurt, Anibal into the game.
  10. Sun Sports announcer: "Mirabelli landed at the airport and arrived at Fenway in a limo minutes before gametime." Limo? News to me. Sometimes it is better to say nothing than sound like a fool who's making s*** up.
  11. Hell of a way to get to 2000, Mr. Ramirez.
  12. Damn, that ball got out going opposite field. Hardly looked like he hit it.
  13. I think games before 7pm on Saturdays are blacked out by Fox's contract. Don't like it, contact the league. You wouldn't be the first, but hopefully enough people have so that they don't grant exculsivity in their next broadcast contract. Good start. Hammer Moehler here.
  14. No, it isn't. But, don't worry. They turned down a bunch to keep Lester around when he was in the minors, and now he is experiencing success in the bigs. He's not going anywhere.
  15. I don't think we can begin to negotiate with the Marlins for Willis with Lester off the table. Smoltz is a different story because he's older, but Willis' youth and ability will command a much higher price tag. I'm not thinking future here. This is a move made for this year (and possibly next) only.
  16. But he's Melky. Hell he even has a candy bar now, the Melky-Way. I think you are being too hard on him.
  17. I missed it, what did he do?
  18. David Wright is going to win a whole truckload of MVPs, IMO. He's crazy good.
  19. Off-Topic Damn, Cain strikes out the side in the first. I have him on my fantasy team and would love to get another look at him now that he's found a groove. f***ing Saturday blackout.
  20. Amen. Smoltz puts this team over the top, IMO. I'm usually in favor of caution when it comes to moving the kids. For example, I didn't see it with the team we had last year. Not enough horses in the rotation and a weaker 'pen. The team is more complete this year, but that 5th starter is the biggest hole. Imagine putting Smoltz, SMOLTZ - one of the best big game pitchers in the game, in that rotation. No more Clement. Off to retirement Fat Man. As long as Lester isn't required, I think they should pull the trigger.
  21. I'll give credit where credit is due. You are one of the few Yankee fans that doesn't get over-excited about marginal players just because they came from your farm system.
  22. Melky airmails one on Reyes single. I don't get the love affair some Yankee fans have with this guy. He's got a strong arm, but he's proned to mistakes with it. He loses focus in the field from time to time. And, he's less than impressive at the plate. I still think they should have sold high about a month ago.
  23. Randy needs to start pitching to contact more. He's trying to do the superman thing, you know, doesn't matter where it goes because my stuff is so good. He clearly doesn't have the velocity or movement to punch 'em out like he used to, and he's leaving he ball in hittable spots over the plate. 4-2 on a Castro single with the bases loaded.
  24. Looks like Slappy is starting to put it together when it counts as he singled home a run with the bases juiced. Another missed call goes their way. Nady was hit on the shin, but the ump didn't call it....and Nady strikes out on the next pitch.
  25. I hope Yankee fans can finally drop the, "The umps are always against us", routine. Jeter was out by a hair on an IF single and the homeplate ump impedes Castro from catching a foul pop by Giambi. No worries though, they get a K-CS DP on the next pitch.
