  1. Yeah, they got into a big Rivera/Papelbon pissing match over a comment by a Sox fan saying it was nice to feel confident at the end of the game with the emergence of Papelbon. Some of the Yankee fans there are hyper-sensitive. Some of the Sox fans there don't know when to shut up. It's a decent board, but I like this one better.
  2. That was you? I answered you by the way.
  3. Yeah, nyyfans requires a lot of time to keep track of what's going on in the Yankees ITL forum. I mainly stick to the General Baseball Forum. Besides, the attack dogs there run Sox fans out of the Yankee sections pretty quick. I don't like to rock the boat.
  4. Yeah, that's me. I use ORS there, BaseballFever (I rarely go there though). Mainly I post here and Nyyfans. What's your handle at Nyyfans?
  5. That's the way the world works, my friend. I know this gets said a lot, but that's just how it is: This is a Red Sox forum. This is where people are homers for the Sox. This is where less than flattering things are said about the Yankees. And, this is where anti-Sox material is derided. Either accept it, or move on. I post at a couple of Yankee boards, and it is the same way, but reversed. It doesn't upset me because I have come to accept the reality of the situation. You aren't going to change it. And, you will only frustrate yourself trying.
  6. Well, if it doesn't make sense for the Mariners, then it doesn't make sense. Agree? The point here is, that a trade needs to make sense for both teams to make sense. I know this doesn't always happen in our minds, but that is my criteria for something making sense. Go right ahead and sit back and laugh on your high horse, and 'Neener, neener, neener' all you want. We can't stop you from being a tight-ass who gets bent out of shape by some harmless banter.
  7. Rocco, you have redeemed yourself.
  8. I don't see what him being a rookie (Liriano) has to do with it. He's been the best SP this year hands down. Papelbon's ERA, if maintained, would be historic for a closer. Nobody else deserves consideration right now. That said, there's a lot of games left. Yeah, you are right Halladay has a shot, probably a good one with the idiot writers. But, it's only due to him leading the league in wins, which will probably be how he ends the year with the Jays offense. But if the season ended right now, and he won it, he'd be this year's Colon -- not quite as undeserving, but undeserving nonetheless.
  9. I'm not a Kay fan, but he's better than the Tampa asshats. I'm watching them on FSN on the tube, and the Sox on mlb.tv. At 4:00 I'll flip to the Future's game. Baseball, baseball, baseball.
  10. Rocco with a bullet to get Cabrera at the plate. Nice to see him make up for his blunders with his arm/glove the last two days.
  11. Melky gets on via an error again? Isn't that like 6 times in the last 6 games, twice today?
  12. Have you watched him pitch? He doesn't have the type of stuff you get familiar with. He reminds me of turn of the century Pedro.
  13. DRays woke up. 5-5 on a Cantu blast. Have a nice nap, boys?
  14. Triple A Tampa showed up for this series. The DRays announcer just put it as well as you can, "Thus far, this series has been gift wrapped for the Yankees."
  15. I don't thinks he's bad in the OF. Yeah, he definitely takes some aggressive routes, which will pay off when it works, and maximize the damage when it doesn't. So, you take the good with the bad there. And, he does have a decent arm. That's only half his contribution, though. He doesn't do enough with the stick to play COF for a championship caliber team, IMO. His bat is better suited for CF, but he doesn't have the range play there. Offensively, he's replacement level, which should come as no surprise because that is what he is, a replacement. As a Sox fan, all I can hope is that his flashes of brilliance this year are enough to make Yankee management think he's a long term solution. I'd rather our pitchers have to face him than a Carlos Lee or Jason Bay type any day of the week.
  16. Brian Fuentes can lick monkey ass. He ruined the otherwise good night I got from Jered Weaver and Chris Young in my Fanasy League.
  17. I'm pretty sure that he means it makes no sense because nobody is interested in acquiring Chacon.....not even for Piniero. You really suck at understanding the point of rivalry banter. Obviously the sub-forum name isn't accurate. But, it is there to get under the skin of Yankee fans. Your rant proves that it worked.
  18. Yeah, I know I'm jumping the gun. Typically this type of discussion doesn't begin until after the ASG. But, we have some compelling performances getting turned in by a crop of rookies that could go down as one of the best rookie classes of pitchers in quite some time. Early invitees to the dance..... Name IP W-L SV/SVO ERA WHIP OPSA K/9 Papelbon 44.0 1-1 26/28 0.41 0.68 .403 9.21 Ryan 41.2 1-0 23/24 0.86 0.72 .368 11.23 Liriano 88.1 10-1 0/0 1.83 0.97 .546 10.40 Santana 124.0 9-4 0/0 2.76 0.99 .621 9.51 Verlander 110.2 10-4 0/0 3.01 1.17 .681 5.61 Halladay 122.1 11-2 0/0 3.02 1.05 .643 4.86 These are the front-runners, IMO. If Kazmir can lower his ERA and rack up a few more wins, he might make the chase. Contreras, Mussina, Schilling, Rogers, Zito? Nah. Jered Weaver started too late to have a shot, IMO. I really think it's a two man race at this point between Liriano - approaching Pedro territory - and Papelbon - having a historic year in terms of ERA. If the season ended right now, I'd have to give it to Papelbon because of how dominant he's been. That said, there's a lot of games left to be played. If both keep it up, it would be neat to see a rook win the CY and ROY. Thoughts?
  19. My mojo will be STFU Mojo. I appears to be working, and I can find someone who needs to shut up for every opponent.
  20. Beckett? Who's Beckett? Nuke LaLoosh started today.
  21. That's just it. Last year was the anomally. This year has been the norm. They've traditionally played the Sox tough and - poof - turned into the AA team they really are against the Yankees. Although, I will say that this year's DRay team isn't as bad as they have played the last two nights. They've had a pretty unfortunate night. Wang's done his usualy GB routine, but I haven't seen a Yankee IF have to make more than two steps to either side to field a ball. Everything has been right at someone, and several of them were scorched. On the other hand, just about every weak chop from the Yankees has found a hole since Kazmir left the game. But, hey, that's baseball.
  22. He is crazy, insane fast. Bad move to send him. Does Baldelli have some outstanding gambling debt? He's been playing this series like the health of his knee caps are in jeopardy.
  23. Similar to last night, the only run scored is on dome bounce chopper up the middle. Posada steals a base. Nice of the Rays to revert to Little League form right after we left town.
  24. 1-down. Slappy. Swinging.
  25. Rays are kicking the ball around the field for Kazmir. He needs to pitch out of a leadoff 2-base error.
