  1. people lets realize the roster that is set right now, wont be the roster on opening day
  2. pitching wise it could be a big move... But off the field what if he starts getting arrested for drunk related activities, which he probably will be. Great clubhouse guy and role model for the kids!!!
  3. whoah are you serious?? thanks for the newsflash captain obvious.
  4. Interesting stat, Damon holds just a career .252 avg at Yankee Stadium in 66 games to go along with a .301 OBP
  5. Gil Meche to us is saying "yes please lets tarnish our rotation." Theres no need for him anyway, and Wells is likely to be traded. If he isnt, look for him to retire like he has announced. Curt Schilling Josh Beckett Matt Clement Tim Wakefield Jonathan Papelbon I think by now any deal for Coco Crisp can be ruled out. An Arroyo for Reed is much more likely to happen.
  6. for a center fielder: Boston gets Torii Hunter, a gold glove center fielder who has pop in his bat Minnesota gets Kevin Youkilis who theyve had on their radar, and 2 of our lesser known prospects
  7. so friggin hilarious
  8. i am being real... do you think the front office fiasco and them letting go a majority of his teammates, factored any in his decision? Appareantly to recent interviews and the one he had with CBS, it did very much so
  9. whose to say that johnny wouldve taken the sox's offer over the yankees even if they matched that deal? I think he decided this on more reasons than the contract.
  10. Did the Sox make him an offer? Yes they did. 4 years/$40 million, what a slap in the face that is, huh? The same can be said for Johnny to stop talking to the media and actually sit down with the Front office and say, I want to work this out. Im tired, and seeing this whole "you fans and the red sox organization care jack s*** about your players". Dont even start that with me.
  11. but still this season against Boston in 2 games, 0-1 with a 14.73 ERA (6 ER in 3.2 innings)

  13. As i recall the Red Sox were able to hit against him, not just this past season stocker is right though: RJ had his ailing back problems, Moose was out for a month, Pavano enough said, Wright as well with his target painted shoulder, Chien Ming Wang was out for the majority of the season. Aaron Small and Chacon could have had career years. Both the Sox and Yanks have question marks surrounding their pitching staff. The Blue Jays so far on paper stand out as the best pitching of the AL East. ---------------------- 2005 season Yankees- $200 million Red Sox- $126 million Id say thats a big margin right there
  14. With Gabe Kapler not due back at the earliest the all star break, its looking likely Stern that Stern get the 4th outfielder spot the start of the season. Im pretty sure he has to anyway, under the Rule 5 draft guidelines. Id be fine with that, his time up here had shown some great defensive plays, 3 of which were shown on espn. Bronson Arroyo is whom the Mariners have the most interest in for a trade
  15. The Orioles would want the prospect to beLester or Papelbon, which the Sox have said no to. Sorry O's... Maybe the Twins trade talks can heated up again... the twins have had youk on their radar for awhile, and id greatly welcome the gold glove torri hunter calling fenway his home. But a longshot as it stands right now
  16. ah im still not going to count out my boys. Theres still 3 1/2 months left till the season opener, lots of moves to happen until then
  17. yes they do, when the 2005 season had started the Sox had extended Wakefield's contract. Gordon Edes has reported they will soon give Francona an extension---Ortiz will also soon be granted his 2nd extension given by Boston in the last year or so.
  18. no surprise, critics and analysts are already saying the red sox will likely finish 3rd behind the yankees and blue jays.
  19. i heard in an interview once that he grew out his hair and beard to avoid getting haircuts and shaving. That had lessened the recurring headaches he was getting after the collision in the 03 playoffs.
  20. Ponson? a guy in the past 2 years has been arrested 4 times that have included drunk driving and disorderly conduct. Thats a big fan draw
  21. actually the sox did offer a 4 year contract like the yankees did, its just he became greedy et tu Johnny?
  22. be sure to add the traitor
  23. Loretta has had some success at leadoff before, so like Gordon Edes said "look for Loretta to take over that duty". Graffanino also did a commendable job hitting leadoff when Johnny had to miss some game from the nagging shoulder injury he had throughout the season. Get ready to say goodbye to Bronson, that Seattle deal should get going
  24. f*** it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boston is my city, my ass--you got to be god damn kidding me here This is Roger Clemens, Wade Boggs all over again
