  1. If Sox were able to acquire Wilson for 3 years/$15-21 million, Id be happy with that
  2. sorry a typo. i wrote that around the same time vrabel had caught his 2nd touchdown pass.
  3. um dude, i said "renteria season" and how his pitchers are "groundball types". I wasnt talking about offense at all. Im talking about his shady glove work
  4. yeaa but Glaus will give them a Renterria season no doubt, and their core of pitchers are known to be the "groundball type" How is Hudson mediocre by the way?
  5. Vrabel was carted off the field and brought to the locker room, being labeled as a leg injury Assante Samuel had the "wind knocked out of him", but he too has been sent to the locker room. He is questionable to return later in the game.
  6. Kapler is still questionable to return until the all star break. Also he's really just a career 4th outfielder
  7. the Sox F.O. kind of lowballed this deal, dont they realize who millwood's agent is?
  8. ugh i just heard on weei, that the sox might now make a push for former Yankee Jeff Weaver, who besides Clemens is basically the best starting pitcher thats on the free agent market. Weaver's stats not so inviting, 78-87 record with a 4.44 ERA
  9. 5 years/$60 million is kind of overpaying
  10. here's some stats on him, hes capable of 20+ Hrs/80+ RBIs and has made just 39 errors in 928 games played. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5994
  11. Id take Preston Wilson over those 3 any day
  12. well i think yahoo & espn stand as out as more credible sites than mlbtraderumors
  13. ooh man i can see why Boston got outbid, yahoo sports is reporting he has signed a 5 year contract at $60 million http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AiFm8_6e_zybDbA0fkqb0AURvLYF?slug=ap-rangers-millwood&prov=ap&type=lgns
  14. you gotta be f***ing kidding me
  15. In other confusing news, Larry Walker may not retire afterall and could try and interest teams in him being a DH for an AL team. The Toronto Blue Jays are said to be keeping tabs to try and acquire him. Okk so I guess if they were to do this it, Walker as the new DH, Glaus would stay at 3rd base being error happy in the Rogers Centre, causing even more influx of their corner infielders.
  16. Like we saw this past season and others before it, relief pitchers who become a walking bomb in the pen for us in the first half have been cut or traded away. But in that instance, the Sox would probably rather call up Manny or Hansen over Lester. He'll no doubt have a call up in the 2nd half, but at what time is what we will have to wait and see for. Also an obvious being call ups when one of our guys "knock on wood" gets hurt
  17. if Wells lost a lot of respect for the Yankee fans, how come a year later he was given this big standing "O" at Yankee Stadium when he was with the Padres
  18. Haha yeah ******** that is. Even during the press conference he was calling it the "mystery team".
  19. name a starting pitcher off the top of your head around the age of 25 who after working 170+ innings in a season was "permanently damaged"
  20. yeaaa i knew bears would win this game against the pcakers. Bret, Bret, Bret, this season is not your season. 4 interception game and is now just 2 away from eclipsing the 30 mark
  21. um where did i say that? well even before the games had started, tito and the coaches had the pitch count set on him. Even if Papelbon had a no hitter after finishing up the 6th but was at around 95 pitches, they still wouldve pulled him. Even if he was getting tired, he had already pitched 100+ innings spanning in Portland/Pawtucket and proved himself in the bigs. In 2006 he will be another year matured and all rested up and raring to go for what comes to him. I'll be look forwrad to him in the rotation.
  22. Wells also said "if not traded, he will then retire."
  23. yeah we are part of the reason why damon left the red sox for the yankees.... give me a f***ing break. The fans made him an iconic cult hero in Red Sox Nation. He could have had a bad game going 0 for 4 with an error and we still would cheer our lungs out for him. spare me your nonsense dribble ------------------- 2004- Wells got on the mound in a Padres uniform and was giving an uproaring ovation opening day 2005- Wells got on the mound in a Red Sox uniform and was booed every chance the fans got to have, there was even crude signs aimed at him. The ESPN announcer even said some were to vulgar they couldnt show them on tv.
  24. im sure there will be some clapping, but you will only hear it if you have super hearing. Many in RS nation feel betrayed and they need to vent their agression which I believe will be the biggest booing at Fenway Park in recent memory.
  25. eh like the poem, i am pissed about damon turning his back and switching sides. IMO, even if Sox matched his offer, I think he wouldve still chosen NY over Boston. Despite that and current state of roster, Im still optimistic that everything will work out in the end for our team to be able to compete come opening day. Happy Holidays everyone
