  1. Its cool elsrbueno. I agree that the Mariners are way over their head, especially asking for Papelbon. ------------------------------------------ Sure thing.
  2. Seattle and Tampa Bay, keep walking and dont let the door hit your ass on the way out :banned:
  3. um Contreras, you think you're worth 12 million per season for 3 years? :harhar:
  4. i will to wait until the season is actually close enough to make my predictions. The roster is unfinished, and a big number of things can happen from now through April 3
  5. Cross Jeromy Burnitz off your list, signing 2 year deal with the Orioles. Same for Eric Byrnes who has been nabbed by the D-backs. ------------------------------------------------ EDIT: Preston Wilson as well possibly That didnt take long, 3 possible candidates for Sox to look at, signing with new teams over the course of 24 hours

  7. I do believe that Tony should at the least be kept on board to be a utility man, very useful as he can play all infield and outfield positions. He hits well with RISP, knowledgable baserunner, embodies "whatever you want me to do, im there" approach
  8. classic cairo moment late 2004 game, both Manny and Cairo both thought they had hit homeruns and both had rounded the bases. Manny was sidetracked by the umps calling his homerun a foul ball instead, and then Cairo finding out at the dugout that Manny had taketh his homerun away.
  9. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=whitesoxgarland&prov=st&type=lgns This deal does have a chance of backfiring on them. A good chance he could revert to what he was before this past season. Chicago is expected to re-sign Contreras, or deal him off to another team.
  10. I was thinking Lastings to Boston considering the Sox will have a shortstop, but then be left out of a left fielder. mlbtraderumors.com is reporting that the Orioles would receive a package of Julio Lugo, Kris Benson, pitching prospect Brian Bannister, and Victor Diaz from the Mets.
  11. If the Sox were able to pry away Lastings Milledge in this "supposed trade", I'd be happy with it. I agree though, Orioles in this 4 way wouldnt be getting too much to compensate for losing their big bat and leader of the team.
  12. um why would the JT Snow be a bad move? He wouldnt be signed on as a full time starter, or even platoon role. He would be signed to be a late innings defensive replacement, 6 gold gloves proves he will be a solid glove for Tito to call on for. This move will firmly place Youkilis as the everyday starter. info courtesy of WEEI
  13. The Baltimore Sun has just reported the Sox have an offer on the table of Manny & Clement for Tejada. Of course, same being said that high ranking officials are wary of trading within their division.
  14. The deal is reportedly worth 2 years/$12 million. Another free agent being paid way more than he's worth this offseason.
  15. Yankee fans, you have my uttermost sympathy if Georgey even considers this
  16. Its just the kid was jus drafted this past June, and spent 05 in Single A. That sudden leap is big to take, and I think its better for him to have more time down in the farm. A trade for Dave Roberts or signing Preston Wilson to a 2/3 year deal would be a temp fix to hold the position for him coming up through the ranks. I have heard some great things about this kid, hence 1st round choice. Reminded a lot of scouts of "Johnny Damon" style running and hitting, but unlike Damon... he has the arm throwing power similar to Gabe Kapler's.
  17. Sorry nope, we arent going to give up Marte. Moving on...
  18. Is there like an unspoken bond for the Red Sox and Yankees to sign their arch rival's former players
  19. Ellisbury shifting from Single A to the bigs would be a big leap & bound for him, its very risky. What good would that do us, the coach saying "he could hit 250 and steal some bases." Well what are we waiting for then
  20. Not necessarily... WEEI has just reported in their 20/20 Sports Flash that the Sox are in negotiations with JT Snow to acquire him. Snow has expressed he would like to be a late innings and defensive replacement 1st baseman. Which is what the Sox I bet like to hear. It is expected that an announcement will come sometime from tonight through tomorrow afternoon. The other teams interested are the Yankees, Orioles, and another undisclosed team.
  21. Looks like they went through the troy glaus trade not knowing what to do next after doing so...
  22. If brought on board, I believe it would be a platoon. Id be happy with it, we know we'd be getting solid defense there.
  23. yeah and sanders got 2 years/$10 million... Wilson would turn down 3 years/$21 million and a chance to play for a playoff potential team? Besides, Boston is about right now the only team in need of a center fielder
  24. Very good win and the continuance of our Patriots dominance Offense was especiall clicking with time of possesion 43:29 . Utilized the running game perfectly with 152 yards, Dillon did a commendable job through the first 3 quarters with 26 rushes for 77 yards/2 touchdowns. Tom Brady had asserted himself well with throwing considering how windy it was in Giants Stadium. My player of the game overall, Mike frigging Vrabel as Brady's 2 touchdown passes were caught by him, that was his 4th this year alone. He is the first player in NFL history to catch 2 TDs and have a sack in a game. Truely an asset to this team. Last 4 games, defense: 31 total points (avg 7/8 points a game) 656 total yards (avg 164 yards a game) 125 rushing yards (avg 31 yards a game) 543 passing yards (avg 136 yards a game) 5 interceptions 4 forced fumbles, 3 recovered 15 sacks
  25. Getting Snow would at least fill our 1st baseman needs. Having him as a late innings guy would be good, had to win his 6 gold gloves for something.
