Its just the kid was jus drafted this past June, and spent 05 in Single A. That sudden leap is big to take, and I think its better for him to have more time down in the farm. A trade for Dave Roberts or signing Preston Wilson to a 2/3 year deal would be a temp fix to hold the position for him coming up through the ranks. I have heard some great things about this kid, hence 1st round choice. Reminded a lot of scouts of "Johnny Damon" style running and hitting, but unlike Damon... he has the arm throwing power similar to Gabe Kapler's.

Snow has expressed he would like to be a late innings and defensive replacement 1st baseman. Which is what the Sox I bet like to hear. It is expected that an announcement will come sometime from tonight through tomorrow afternoon. The other teams interested are the Yankees, Orioles, and another undisclosed team.
