  1. The Texans already have a good running back as it is, but I do think the Jets could be a viable trading partner if they draft Bush. Texans- Donnie Abraham Jets- Domanick Davis
  2. (1) Crisp would have to be involved in that deal, if siad happen (2) Id rather have Lester traded than Papelbon who has proven his worth already to the team
  3. I hope Redding gets called up to pitch at Fenway
  4. very true about Harris Former D-Ray and 2005 Yankee killer, Eduardo Perez has been reportedly signed by the Cleveland Guardians http://www.sptimes.com/2006/01/01/Sports/US_skeleton_coach_pla.shtml
  5. damn it really is black monday for NFL coaches
  6. another coach gone List is compiling Sherman- Packers Martz- Rams Mariucci- Lions Capers- Texans Tice- Vikings EDIT: Retiring, Dick Vermeil- Cheifs Soon to be Norv Turner of the Raiders? Could Herm Edwards leave New York to take over the Chiefs?
  7. Last I heard, the Guardians will be willing to talk with Boston if Marte is included in the deal.
  8. no complaints from me with Snow becoming more of a backup. Foulke if he can at the least keep the ball on the ground while doing a save opportunity, he will be backed up by a possible infield of: Lowell, Cora, Loretta and Snow behind him. Thats what I call reliable "D"
  9. very true about denver, they were close this season to having 2 running backs rush for over 1000 yards each.
  10. They'll need to upgrade on their offensive line this coming offseason
  11. Stern I dont really think is being eyed as a possible candidate to be the starting center fielder. At the least he will be the opening day 4th outfielder
  12. Julio Lugo might be out of the mix for Boston anyway...
  13. With the way things are going for shortstop: Miguel being a far fetched wish, and the d-rays asking Boston for their top prospects in return for an average shortstop who just has 1 season on his contract... its getting to the point where I'm comfortable with keeping Cora on board as the opening day shortstop. This would be desperation mode if Sox were to choose that, even Tito has said several times thats what he would like to see happen. We all know he can play solid D. How many times did he show up in the web gems segment? He would also give sufficient enough offense for the team, and decisive baserunning skills
  14. I for one, am glad to hear about this. Even if it is tentatively penciled in as a platoon, I believe Youkilis over the course of the season will become the primary 1st baseman. Snow reverting to a solid late innings defensive replacement.
  15. Willie Harris of the White Sox is close to signing with the Rockies http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_3358525
  16. Cant wait for this to be all sorted out, other than that... Happy New Year Everyone!! Heres to peace, prosperity, and the Sox getting 'er done all the way to October
  17. ?? um do I need to show you Huff's stats? He's proved to be capable of having 20-25 HRs/90+ RBI seasons. --------------------------------- True, if they are expecting Marte for Gathright... Just imagine what they would want for Huff, who is an all around better player.
  18. i meant to put him in the outfield, not 1st base. And i didnt say anything about trading away Marte. Plain & simple: Huff or Gathright as our center fielder. Huff please
  19. Im not a "Gathright" guy myself> A leadoff hitter he would not be, more like #8 or 9 if he came to Boston. Mark Loretta is a viable option to lead off games, who bodes a .career .299 batting avg and .366 OBP when leading off. Gathright In 95 career games played .271 batting avg .316 OBP .322 SLUG .638 OPS 0 Hrs 14 RBIs 12 Walks They seem to be more inclined to give Huff away, who'd Id glady take over Gathright.
  20. From 1975 to the late 80's Jim Rice reigned as one of the, if not the most feared hitter in the American League. The "David Ortiz" of his era basically. I can remember there were times they actually intentionally walked him several times when the bases were loaded and the Red Sox were already ahead. And RISP is just one of the many aspects he led the league in...
  21. This is coming from the New York Daily news, supposedly gaining buzz. I dont know about this rumored trade, I just see big things in Marte calling Fenway his home.
  22. Miguel will still give a bit bat behind Ortiz, we know he's capable of 35-45 Hrs/130-150 RBIs
  23. Soriano, nope sorry. According to that source, the Nationals would seek along the lines of Josh Beckett, Papelbon, or Lester
