  1. Kevin Kolb.
  2. That Final Four would've been awful. What makes the tournament great is the David vs. Goliath aspect of it. Plus, it'd help those arguing that the tourney should be expanded.
  3. Butler will beat K-State.
  4. One of the best games I've seen in a long, long time! Holy s***! Double OT off of a looooong three to tie.
  5. HUGE blown call at the end of regulation. Good. f*** KSU!
  6. This Xavier/K-State game is a great one. Not sure how anybody can not love the NCAA tournament.
  7. Has turned into a hell of a game. Butler up four after a three pointer that rimmed out, bounced up off the backboard and went in. And now six after a nice tip. Syracuse's season is on life support.
  8. Butler's looking good right about now. edit: Not so much, now.
  9. Mine is a train wreck. Easily the worst bracket I've ever filled out.
  10. I'm with ya'll. I mean, there's argument's both ways, but the bottomline is that NCAA Basketball prides itself on having everything decided on the court... well, in a game that everybody assumed both teams needed to win, Mississippi State proved they were the better team on the court. Considering things were just about equal between the teams outside of that game, that should've been good enough.
  11. I don't think MSU's whole body of work is so much worse that their tournament performance in comparison to Florida's shouldn't push them over the top. In fact, they're nearly even in RPI, with Mississippi State having the edge. They technically split the season series, but MSU's neutral court win over Florida in a game of great significance is a great deal more impressive than Florida's home victory over MSU. Each of these teams were in a position where assumption was they would have to win games in the conference tourney to make it in -- and when all else is equal, what better way to decide which team is better than a head to head matchup that both teams needed to win? Mississippi State won that game and then proceeded to beat a ranked tournament team. They deserve to be in. You say Florida's resume is more impressive... RPI suggests otherwise.
  12. Not entirely true. Mississippi State beat both Florida and Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament -- those games do count and definitely have to be taken into consideration, which gives Mississippi State the edge in my book.
  13. Um... Minnesota BEAT Illinois. Just sayin'...
  14. West Virginia, Kansas, Villanova, and Pittsburgh for me.
  15. Like the idea for the game, but Pinstripe Bowl is such a lame name. I guess it beats "Galleryfurniture.com Bowl", but it's still pretty terrible.
  16. Good signing for the Broncos? I ask ya'll because you've watched him play an awful lot more than I have.
  17. Crosby wins it for Canada. They looked better in OT, no doubt about that. Sadly, I missed the rest of the game. But considering Canada was a heavy favorite coming into these games, and the United States certainly wasn't expected to be in this position... can't be too upset about it.
  18. Fair enough. I guess him being exposed by the Blachawks last postseason is standing out a bit much to me. Regardless, you'd be hard-pressed to name a better big game goaltender than Fleury; ergo, I think starting Luongo's a mistake.
  19. I doubt it. That move wouldn't make much sense to me at all.
  20. I'd go Fleury, if I were Canada. Luongo's never been good in big moments. I think that's a mistake that costs them this tournament.
  21. I disagree with your first point. For one, because fighting seems to be the exact opposite of what the "Olympic spirit" is and I may be in the minority, but I think the game of hockey is just as good, if not better, without the fighting. All the fighting does to me is leave room on the roster for guys who, based on skill alone, wouldn't be good enough to play in the NHL otherwise. But that Kessler goal was phenomenal. Considering the circumstances and the degree of difficulty, regardless of what happens in this tournament for the United States, that is one goal I will always remember! And I think we've seen the last of Brodeur these olympics. edit: And also, Ryan Miller become one of my favorite players last night. Truly an amazing performance by him. The way he kept the Canadians from scoring again in that late onslaught of theirs before the Kessler goal was remarkable!
  22. What a hell of a game. I'd love to see a second US/Canada down the road, but I also hope we get to see Canada/Russia (Crosby vs. Ovechkin) -- that'll be a hell of a game! Really hope this game draws more people to the sport of hockey! That really was some great hockey!
  23. My choices for olympic viewing right now... men's figure skating or women's hockey. f***, I'm going to bed.
  24. Yikes... Wall misses 'em both and State can't get ahold of the rebound. Tough to win games when that happens.
