  1. Nah, I didn't. Too many things working against them. Just came off of a long road trip, have been playing flat, Billups has been awful, Smith hasn't been shooting well, and Nene out. At least with Garnett out, the Celtics have capable bodies to fill in. Johan Petro hardly ever even checks into a game, so him starting the game was a joke. Ball coming right to him and Rondo and Rondo pulls down the board. How does that even happen? Nuggets just had no energy tonight.
  2. I'd love to see the refs start calling this game both ways. edit: Nuggets are awful without Nene.
  3. I think the Celtics actually get a conditional second round pick back, and not Solomon. Not that it matters. Just looked into it, Solomon for the second rounder was actually a separate deal, I believe. Garnett's hurt against the Jazz. Went up for an alley-oop, and didn't actually come down wrong on his leg -- in fact, he came down on the other leg -- so it must've happened when he went up. Hope it's not anything serious! edit: He's warming up, appears to be alright.
  4. Not Bruins related, but this is the only hockey thread, and this goal is just flat out amazing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhHynGESrOQ ... not better than the one he notched against Phoenix, but amazing regardless.
  5. I meant to mention that when I saw it. Big Ten basketball is awful to watch.
  6. So the Broncos have cut 13 people already. The notables being Dre Bly, Dewayne Robertson, Marquand Manuel, and Jamie Winborn -- four defensive starters. Thank god Dre Bly's gone.
  7. Please, I'm not sure the Nuggets even have draft picks to trade. For whatever reason, the Nuggets hate draft picks... except second round draft picks. They love those. I know of one first rounder they have, and it's the Bobcats future first rounder -- which the Nuggets traded this years (or last years, I don't remember) first round pick to get. When the year of that draft pick finally rolls around, they'll probably trade it. But the Nuggets have the same issues I'm sure the Celtics have -- very top heavy in regards to contracts. Anyone with a contract that another team may think is worth acquiring is too valuable to the team. It's frustrating, the Nuggets are one of the 5 or 6 best teams in the NBA right now, but I think they need another piece to be a legit contender, and they don't have the means to acquire it -- and they have a lot of young talent, but they don't have the draft picks to acquire young talent to go with it to ensure a future as bright as, say, Portland's appears to be. edit: Also frustrating, and completely unrelated, 'Melo still gets no respect. This year's literally, like, the fourth time he's been snubbed for the All-Star game.
  8. I'm very scared to see who the Blazers will eventually end up with. They have the most valuable trading piece in the league right now -- Raef Lafrentz's contract (thanks, Dallas!). The strong rumors are Gerald Wallace, Caron Butler, and Richard Jefferson, but Vince Carter's also an option. I don't think it'll be Vince, and I'm really hoping it's not him or Caron.
  9. They also got cash considerations. So what I'm getting out of it is that the Celtics essentially paid the Kings to help them open up a roster spot?
  10. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3913301 Tyson Chandler's a... Thunder? Thunderer? Thunderee? Hornets moved him in a salary dump and acquire nobody in particular in return. Their title hopes take a big hit.
  11. He's coming up very short in this press conference... He didn't even really think he was cheating? Didn't even know if he was doing it right? "I was only 25-26 years old." f*** that. Only 25 years old? I wasn't that "young" and "naive" when I was 16. I'll add that I don't care about steroids -- I don't care if he used them, but f***, just man up and be honest.
  12. nevermind.
  13. Should've been a foul on that shot to end the half, but that was a great shot. I thought UConn was outplayed for the bulk of the half, so being down 3 isn't all that bad. This game has the intensity of a tournament game. What a great game so far.
  14. Dejuan Blair is amazing... a double-double in the first half. Deny him the damn ball, Thabeet.
  15. I guess RPI-wise you can put Georgetown in, they have some good wins, and don't have any really bad losses, but I have a hard time saying a team that's lost 9 of 12, and 7 of their last 8, should be in the tournament right now. They're from the best conference, so they have that going for them, but they've been awful within that conference.
  16. Not to mention that loss at St. Louis. They're definitely on the bubble. I think that if the bracket was decided today, they'd have snuck their way in.
  17. So it doesn't do much to disprove the whole saliva thing.
  18. Notre Dame just snapped their seven game losing streak with an absolute beatdown of #7 Louisville. 90-57... Next up on ESPN is ASU vs. UCLA, I really like watching James Harden play.
  19. That game was Duke in a nutshell. When they shoot the ball well, they can be as good as anybody. When they can't, they're awful.
  20. Syracuse ain't got s*** on the Huskies. UConn up 13 with about 2:40 left and Thabeet at the line for two.
  21. Not to completely hi-jack this thread with Dolphins talk, but I don't know... outside of the year I lived in Florida (don't believe my listed location to the left, I'm back in Colorado now-a-days), I don't really come across many Dolphins fans. I'm sure they have tons of fans, more than most teams, but they seem kind of rare. :dunno: ... maybe people just don't like wearing aqua and orange.
