  1. Well, you're not a Patriots fan, so you're alright in my book. But seriously, the Dolphins?
  2. I remember the Lakers clearly being the better team, winning one of the games by 30 points. The issue was the Spurs couldn't stop Kobe, which they've never been able to do. By the way, as a Spurs fan, you have no business complaining about officiating. Ever.
  3. Would've been that way had the Spurs not let the Lakers steamroll 'em.
  4. I'll be in San Antonio at Lackland AFB for Basic Training starting on March 3rd. Welcome to the forum!
  5. He admitted to knowingly taking performance enhancing drugs. What does he have to gain by saying he doesn't know exactly what they were when we already know what he tested positive for? edit: That's actually a legitimate question I have.
  6. It's a good thing we cheer for a team that would never ever allow on it's roster somebody's who's used steroids, eh?
  7. The Spurs have never been able to limit Kobe. Why would this year be any different? Not to say the Spurs can't beat the Lakers in 7, but I don't think they will without homecourt. And they're not getting it. Lakers won in five last season, and were clearly the better team. I think both teams are improved this season, the Spurs more-so than the Lakers... but not enough, in my opinion. Especially if the Lakers get Bynum back... even if he's not 100%.
  8. If they get homecourt I might agree. I think the Lakers are better, though -- especially if they get Bynum back, even if he's not 100%.
  9. Not the prettiest win, but considering how recent number ones have fared, I'll gladly take it.
  10. I should amend that, I think Thigpen is better going forward than Cassell is. Given a choice between the two, I'd rather have Thigpen as my starting QB.
  11. That wasn't even a good one... Arizona was really struggling at the time, they traveled across the country, they were a warm weather team playing in snow, and they had already clinched their division -- as I mentioned earlier, I can't imagine Arizona wanted anything to do with that game. I know that, looking at the AFC East standings, it looked like one of the better divisions in football, but they benefitted from playing eight games against the two worst divisions in football, then six games within the division. It was a very weak division. By the way, the disaster that was the St. Louis Rams season is not Marc Bulgers fault. They have absolutely no offensive line. And for KC -- Thigpen is better than Matt Cassell.
  12. Houston and Atlanta swapped first rounders, and actually resulted in Houston going down. So they gave up two second rounders... a pretty significant difference. Cassell has good games against bad defenses. He torched the Jets, who are near the bottom of the league in pass defense, the Cardinals (do you think the Cardinals really wanted anything to do with that game? Had already clinched, it was freezing, had to travel), the Broncos who's defense was among the worst I've ever seen, and he didn't even play that well that game, the Raiders, and... someone else. I understand you can't "take away those games", but outside of those games, he was par for the course, at the very, very best. Lest we forget he was throwing to Wes Welker and Randy Moss. I very much hope the Chiefs do bring in Cassell, I'd much rather they give up the two first rounders to make an, at best, parallel move from Tyler Thigpen to Matt Cassell. That article is a joke, by the way. Comparing the number of wins between the two? Matt Cassell was QBing a team that went into the season as the Super Bowl favorite... Thigpen was QBing for the team that a lot of people thought had a legitimate shot at going 0-16. Please give up those two first rounders, Pioli! For a team with as many needs as the Chiefs... god I'd love that.
  13. They'd have to give up two first round draft picks. You really believe the Bengals or Lions are willing to give up two first round draft picks? I know you have a man-crush on Cassell, but he is not that good. He's not better than Pennington, he's not better than McNabb, certainly not until he has a good game against a good defense. Not saying it won't happen (it won't)... it'd be a mistake by whichever team would do it, though.
  14. They're going to give him a non-exlusive franchise tag, which will give him the right to negotiate an offer from other teams. Should he sign an offer sheet, the Patriots will then choose to either match, or not match the offer. If they choose the latter, they lose Matt Cassell, and receive two first round draft picks as compensation. If he doesn't sign an offer sheet, the Patriots will have to pay him the average salary of the top 5 highest paid QB's, 14,651,000. With that said, however, almost all franchise tags offered are of the non-exclusive variety, and that really never comes in to play. Matt Cassell, like most players, certainly isn't worth giving up two first round draft picks for in addition to the amount of money it'd take to lure him away from New England -- so unless they trade him, he'll be a very expensive backup QB, should Brady be ready for 2009.
  15. Usually four or five times a year, and I've been to two or three playoff games. I've only gotten down to Denver for a Nuggets game once this year, and that was when they played the Magic, wasn't much fun. Not only did they lose, but the crowd never got into the game. 'Melo was out too.
  16. Ahhh, okay, just wondering. From pictures I've seen the Fedex Forum looks really nice.
  17. #2 Oklahoma's losing to A&M 68-63 late in the second. #3 Duke is getting destroyed by Clemson 70-43 late in the second. #6 Wake Forest got mollywocked by Miami 79-52. Some night. Wake's gone from being "legit" after the win over Duke, to hitting a wall I'm not sure they'll recover from.
  18. Lebron goes for 52-10-11 tonight at MSG, making me realize how epic a Kobe vs. Lebron NBA Finals could be.
  19. Watched the game, they looked great. Louisville fans can bitch all they want about the FTA difference, but Louisville made almost no attempt to get to the basket while UConn did. I would agree that they're a pretty clear cut #1. They flat-out dominate the paint. Now why is Wake Forest behind two teams they've beat, UNC and Duke when they all have two losses?
  20. I didn't see the 7-0 one. The one's with the 5's are the ones that get me. Not crazy about the one with the 9 either. Eh, who knows. Usually I get "good numbers" and lose anyways, so we'll see. I still foresee my streak continuing... I do appreciate your optimism, though. By the way, any complaining about my numbers is just joking. I'm happy you thought enough of me to include me, winning would just be the icing on the cake!
