  1. Ahh, okay. ESPN's gamecast thingy must have updated it. But yeah... that's ridiculous.
  2. He really is. Four games this year where he's given up 2 or less hits. I believe that with today's outing, in which he's allowed 3 hits and 0 ER so far, his ERA is down to 0.83
  3. By the way, when's the last time Kobe was completely healthy? edit: Or even close to being completely healthy? It hardly seems fair to compare a 31 year old Kobe with a 25 year old Lebron. By the way, to answer the question posed earlier, I would take Kobe's last ten years over Lebron's next ten. I mean, at the end of those ten years Lebron will be 35. Is Lebron going to be able to transform his game to deal with the physical limitations he hits as he gets older like Kobe has? It's a legitimate question. Kobe used to be more of a slasher himself.
  4. There's no arguing that Kobe has the better supporting cast, but I would hardly say the Lakers are stacked. One of the worst PG's in the league, Artest having been something of a disappointment and having lost a step on defense, and a s***** bench don't make for a "stacked" team. Kobe's got a better post-game, he's a better shooter by quite a bit, a better defender in my opinion, although Lebron's a better rebounder, and can you really argue whether or not he's a better leader? Lebron's a better slasher, but part of that is because Kobe's body has a lot more mileage, and also a better passer, but I think Kobe's shown he can be a damn good passer himself. Who's the best basketball player ever in your mind?
  5. As have I. If there's been an argument regarding Kobe, I almost always take his side. I was just using that fourth quarter last night as an example of why I'd choose Kobe. Every time you started to think Phoenix might come back, Kobe put a dagger in them at the other end. It was amazing.
  6. That's why Kobe drops turn around jumpers over two defenders when the game's on the line? That's why Kobe had, like, seven game winners this year when everyone knew he was going to get the ball and was going to shoot? The Cavaliers have enough talent to win a title, and the guys surrounding Lebron are better than you give them credit for being. Like I said in my first post in this thread, Kobe's done more with some terrible supporting casts than just about anyone -- again, he made the playoffs in the West (when the East vs. West balance was really lopsided) with a team that started Smush Parker, Brian Cook, and a combination of Kwame Brown and Chris Mihm and nobody coming off of the bench. I have to pick one of those guys to win a series for me, I take Kobe every single time.
  7. That game last night is why I choose Kobe over Lebron. Every time the Suns looked like they were going to make a game of it, Kobe made some ridiculous, off-balance shot over two guys to just put a dagger in them. Amazing performance by Kobe in that game and in that series.
  8. How is that better for the NBA than Lakers/Celtics? Who outside of Phoenix or Boston would care about a Suns/Celtics NBA Finals?
  9. It's not a race thing. When you have five technical fouls over a, what, 13 game-span? You're going to have a reputation -- especially when you overreact to foul calls the way he does on occasion and did in that instance. By the way, the technical was rescinded so quit bitching everybody. He's not suspended for next game, and it's not the reason you lost by 21.
  10. His first technical was BS, the second one doesn't seem completely unwarranted, he was hardly just walking away, though... but you can't complain too much since Pierce didn't just get a flagrant foul for a two handed shove.
  11. This is a terrible idea. I love games being played in poor weather, but the Super Bowl shouldn't be one of them, especially if the NFL keeps trending towards becoming a pass happy league.
  12. Hossa will be playing in his third straight Stanley Cup Finals with a third different team. Hope this one produces different results for him.
  13. http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/sow_experts/post/Nike-s-World-Cup-ad-is-three-minutes-of-awesome?urn=sow,242594 Nike's new World Cup commercial. It's amazing. I love the part with Kobe.
  14. I'm not really sure why were arguing about the Mavs/Heat Finals but Game 3 has to go down as one of the worst officiated games in league history. With the Mavs up 2-0 in the Series, and with a good sized lead in the fourth quarter, the Heat then managed to get every single call, winning that game and eventually the series. I was cheering for the Heat in that series and I thought it was disgusting how many calls they got in that fourth quarter. So that Championship has always been tainted as far as I'm concerned.
  15. People forget that Kobe carried some ridiculously bad Lakers teams to the playoffs in the post-Shaq, Pre-Gasol era. He won 45 games in the Western Conference with this supporting cast... Lamar Odom Kwame Brown Andrew Bynum (as a Rookie) Brian Cook Devean George Devin Green Jim Jackson Sasha Vujacic Luke Walton Aaron McKie Stanislav Medvidenko Chris Mihm Smush Parker Ronny Turiaf Laron Profit And you know what? That team lost two less games that year then the Cavs lost this year. You'd have a hard time finding an example of a guy doing more with less.
  16. Yeah, if he chooses New York it's about the glory -- saving the Knicks. And Miami is a big city as far as cities go. But as far as professional sports markets go? Not that big. Miami itself would probably be one of the smaller cities in the NBA -- smaller than Denver, Oklahoma City, Portland, Sacramento, etc. As a TV market it falls somewhere in the middle of the league. Aside from the cities nightlife and weather, I don't really see what would attract him there. And what I meant was that while he's going to make a lot of money regardless, someone who has ambitions of becoming a billionaire and a world icon would be best off choosing a world class city like New York, Chicago, or LA. I've never been to Miami (or Cleveland), and I'm sure it's a nice city (Miami, not Cleveland), but it's not in the same category of those other three.
  17. I doubt he'll end up in Miami. There's that chance he ends up in Cleveland only because he's from Akron, but Lebron's got ambitions to be a billionaire, and how many billionaire's choose Akron, Ohio over world class cities like New York and Chicago?
  18. I sure hope so!
  19. Such a boring series. Mike Brown is a terrible coach. Whatever teams wins this series will proceed to get their s*** stomped in by what appears to be the best team in the league, the Magic.
  20. Celebrities love stalkers. It helps reassure them that they've "made it" -- so my advice is to find his home and hide in his bushes.
