  1. Would that be his '07 Tigers Salary? About $11 mill, if that's the case. edit: nevermind, JHB's got it.
  2. Pedroia looks like one of those scrappy guys you have to look out for.
  3. Maybe try the link he gave you...
  4. Hate to ruin your perception of Namath, but in the history of sports, I can't name a more overrated athlete. Personally, I hope Brett Favre plays somewhere other than Green Bay and is terrible. What a great ending that'd be.
  5. Their record looks pretty because they got on that hot streak against the National League and then carried that streak into a series with some crappy AL Central teams (Cleveland and Detroit) before getting swept at Fenway.
  6. I take it that the rules of grammar are not one of 'this rules' that will be enforced? :harhar: I kid, I kid. Don't ban me.
  7. I was really trying to get to one of these Rockies/Dodgers games but my buddy didn't really want to go. Tonight probably would've been the one we attended... good thing we didn't...
  8. If that's the case it seems like an attitude problem. I know for sure they desperately need AI if they want to have any sort of half court offense. He's a one man half court offense... before they got him, they could do nothing but run. The biggest problem with the Nuggets is that they've always been a mish-mash of talents. They have a lot of talent on that roster but they've never gotten that whole team work thing down, and they've never committed to running the ball. They should be able to run teams out of that Pepsi Center gym with the altitude and all.
  9. Denver was never on the cusp of being anything great. They won more games this season with AI than they had without him the past few years, but a familiar first round exit was still the result. How George Karl didn't get fired is well beyond me. They say AI had one of his better years this year -- I didn't watch the Nuggets nearly enough to intelligently comment on that, but they also say 'Melo regressed in every area of his game except for his three point shooting, which makes him merely mediocre from deep, as opposed to bad. Should've traded him before his value drops this year.
  10. I think at this point, he may have just enough value to where we could swing a deal with the Mets where we ship him off and get Trot back in return...
  11. Yeah... I guess it's something they kind of needed to do, take a step towards fixing their financial situation and all, but management still has dreams of contending for a Title, even though this team will be worse off than that disappointing team from last year. Had they known they would eventually make this move, they should've been smart enough to just start getting themselves in a position to rebuild. Should've looked to trade Iverson or Melo -- eventually you just have to admit that the direction in which you're going is never going to work. edit: I guess the idea is to play Nene at the 5, Melo at the 4 spot, Kleiza at small forward, and JR Smith and AI as the guards.
  12. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-63078155599514_2010_16895487
  13. I love JD Drew... I just want to shout it from the roof tops... 1-0
  14. Personally, YS013, I think I'd rather see the Yanks get buried a bit further.
  15. Here's a pic of the Sox hat... http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMLB2-4836941dt.jpg ... I think. I'm not actually watching the game, though.
  16. I was at the first game and caught a lot of s***... f***ing bandwagoners. When the Sox came to Tampa last year that stadium was 2/3 full and well over 3/4 Red Sox fans. That place was damn near sold out and of all the Rays fans, I saw maybe three wearing shirts, jerseys, or hats from before this year.
  17. He gets paid to make these controversial remarks... without them he has no appeal to anybody. This guy has a history of racism, even before the Rutgers comments... this is nothing new.
  18. The best part of this whole fiasco? When he pointed out that the Producer of his show is black. The classic I'm-not-a-racist defense.
  19. It helps that Lebron's on one of the better defensive teams in basketball while Kobe's on a team that's among the Leagues worst when it comes to playing team defense and is considered to have played the worst team defense in NBA Finals history. Besides, you guys saw the games. It's damn near impossible for any defender to keep someone like Pierce, playing at the otherworldly level he was playing at, contained without help defense and the Lakers help defense was abysmal. This is where I remind you that Lebron had Z and Big Ben down low and Kobe had Pau and Lamar Odom. Advantage: I don't think I need to tell you. It's a team game, people. I don't know... I'll take the 7 time NBA All-Defensive team nominations (as voted on by coaches) as proof over those two individual series'. And Yankshater, that may well be the case, but in 05-06 carried as much of the load for the Lakers offensively as Lebron in any year... named to the Defensive team again.
  20. Why does anybody listen to this guy? His show is terrible... he's just a very, very, very poor man's Howard Stern.
  21. But where is Lebron so much better in a game situation to where it makes up for defense? Kobe's a permanent fixture on NBA Defensive Teams and much better than Lebron in an aspect that makes up half of the game. Name a better perimeter defender not named Jordan or Bowen.
  22. And the NBA ain't played 1 on 1. And Kobe's better. Not to say Lebron won't eventually be better, but right now, I think Kobe's head and shoulders above anyone else in the League.
