Herm Edwards is easily the worst coach in the NFL. How many games has he lost this year where he's built a pretty sizable lead and then went completely conservative and lost the game? Although Mike Shanahan is making a strong case. First he lets about 20 seconds run off the clock before Carolina punts -- so the Broncos get the ball with about 34 seconds left. Run an unsuccessful play, let the clock run down to 17 seconds and call a timeout. Then run a play to run out the clock, which they fumble, setting Carolina up for a chip shot FG.

It is very cool -- it's awesome to see Freeney, Strahan, Vinatieri, Dungy, etc. talking about the game with the players and coaches involved in it. Too bad Johnny Unitas isn't still alive, I'd love to see him and Peyton Manning talking to eachother.

Is anybody going to watch this "Greatest Game Ever Played"? I intend to... the coloring job they did looks so fake... but at the same time, it looks amazing to me for some reason. It's awesome being able to picture something that used to be in only black and white in color.

Not sure you can go wrong picking the Heisman winner tonight. I'm torn between Tebow and Bradford -- but wouldn't mind seeing any of the three win. I'm leaning Bradford, though. I think Graham Harrell should've gotten an invite, and would also be a deserving winner. edit: Sam Bradford wins it!

Naaaaah. Although when Owens went to the center star against the Cowboys... that was good too. Because that prompted Emmitt Smith to go to the star and throw down a little challenge. And then T.O. does it again and gets clocked by George Teague! Amazing. Any TD celebration that requires you to run 50 yards just to pull it off is okay in my book.

That sharpie TD celebration was brilliant though -- far better than anything Ocho Cinco's done.

Waaaait a minute... notice the news story is from ESPN. From what I've heard, it's three different Dallas Cowboys WR's, including Roy Williams, and not just T.O. -- ESPN is just spinning and manipulating this to fit their own little agenda.

The hats are alright, but the new road uniforms are beautiful. I want one. I don't like the Red Sox having any alternate uniforms -- so I certainly don't like them having a home and a road alternate, but they're not bad looking themselves.

I've always hated him -- and not just because he plays for Syracuse, but I just really hated him, never could put a finger on why. I'm glad I have a real reason to hate him, now.

I don't look too far into Stoops' BCS record. When USC shows up to play, they destroy even ranked teams -- and that particular USC team was stacked. I have to think there's some sort of let down in having to play Boise State and West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl when you're one of the favorites to win the National Championship every year. Oklahoma will be fine. Florida tore through the SEC -- but this is a very down year for the SEC. Their win over LSU doesn't look all that impressive anymore, their win over Georgia doesn't look as impressive anymore, Florida State's not so great. I think playing in the SEC also skews their defensive numbers a bit, since there's no real great offenses in the SEC -- meanwhile Oklahoma played in a conference that had five of the top ten offenses. And that Oklahoma offensive line is the best in the country, they won't touch Bradford. Oklahoma is easily the best offense I've ever seen. They lack a bit on the defensive side, but with a month to gameplan, they should be well enough on that side. Should be a great game either way. I'll be in Florida for it, fortunately, so that should be some fun.

My god... their west coast trips are the easiest part of their ridiculously easy schedule. What would the AFC East look like if they hadn't gotten the two worst divisions in football this year?

Yeah, they're a pretty young team, and they do actually have some talent, so maybe they've brought him in more because he's a veteran than anything.

The right call was made. The odds of them recovering the onside kick had to be far greater than the odds of them stopping Carolina's running game on three consecutive plays because they had shown zero ability to stop the run. Carolina was averaging over 8 yards per carry. That's insane.

Do you not have a grasp on the general strategy behind onside kicks?

He was a Nugget earlier this year. I didn't know they had ever released him. I guess I never knew because he never got playing time to start with.

Why the hell would Mike Tirico be biased towards Carolina? :dunno: I liked Gruden's call to run the ball with no timeouts, less than two minutes left, and down by 14 at about midfield. Brilliant.

Nah, just read about it. I've been to that mall before, though. He was the manager at the Mobile One there. I heard the interview he did on the local sports radio show and he said something like "I don't have too much pride to sell cellphones, I've got a family to feed." I'm glad the Broncos have given him a second chance... I hope he takes advantage enough to get himself back into the league for longer than just the remainder of this year.
