  1. Is it not enough that the Patriots got off light for Spygate?
  2. Oklahoma is insanely good. They've made it very easy to justify ranking them ahead of Texas.
  3. That's true. edit: Just realized my first example was a s***** one. Expos used to play in the National League! (That's better!) No way they would change. I'm still undecided on whether or not I'd like to see any of the Major Sports leagues expand overseas. It could be very cool.
  4. I like 'em. Much better than what they wore last year.
  5. The school up here, Northern Colorado, started that transition a few years ago. Kind of sucks, I'd love a major college basketball program in the area to support, but Colorado State sucks, CU isn't worth driving 45 minutes for, and Air Force (again, my new team) is about 120+ miles away.
  6. Wide right. Heh.
  7. Terrible playcalling by the Browns there, but Dawson still knocks down a 56 yarder. Still left a lot of time on the clock, I'd have run it at least twice there.
  8. Care to make a wager? I'll give you Bryant and 25 points. Oh, and I guess I'm an Air Force fan now too. Glad I'm enlisting in the branch that has respectable programs in football and basketball.
  9. This Buffalo Cleveland game is starting to get crazy. Jerome Harrison with a 72 yard run for a Cleveland TD, the ensuing kickoff goes back 98 yards for a TD. Browns still winning -- the Bills' great start was a fluke, me thinks.
  10. I love it. I'm a huge UConn fan, and I know I'm not alone in that here. I'll be watching a large chunk of that marathon tonight.
  11. Why does there have to be an excuse for them losing? Let's not forget the Nuggets were playing their second game in as many nights, and had to travel from Cleveland to Boston in between, so they weren't exactly fresh.
  12. Hate to nit-pick, but the Jets pass defense is hardly above average. It was a great performance, without a doubt. Absolutely not denying that. But he's had exactly one other "good" game, and that was a game in which I thought he was sub-par, and was made to look better by his WR's against a defense that I've watched play every week that really can't stop anybody. Whether or not he's been good for the Patriots, I guess, is dependant on what the Patriots expect from him, but with that schedule the Patriots have played, their record doesn't impress me much, and while Cassell's played well enough to NOT cost his team games against bad teams, those performances wouldn't have been enough to beat good teams, and he's not a good QB, and he won't be until he can throw the ball downfield and not just boost his completion % by passing underneath all game.
  13. I think saying he's 5 for 5 in terms of "good" games is inaccurate, and very generous. There's a distinct difference between "good" and "not bad". He's had a number of bad games, a few games where he didn't do anything to lose the game against bad teams, and two good games -- though as I mentioned before, one of those (the Denver game), he didn't even look all that good.
  14. Ahhh, okay. I'd heard, on Howard Stern show when they were discussing Artie Lange's season tickets how much more expensive his were going to be in the new stadium, so I was curious. I wish I had the money to buy some season tickets for the Rockies out here, but I'm just a broke ass 22 year old.
  15. Eh, you bought season tickets for a contender that's opening up a beautiful new stadium... can't exactly say I blame ya, Gom. How much did they cost you, though?
  16. Can't we just agree that neither team is any good?
  17. As I said before, it's clear he threw for the sole purpose of getting rid of the ball, which is fine when it's within a few yards of the WR, or hits at their feet, that ball was five yards away, there was zero percent chance of that pass being completed. In the second replay, you can't even see the Packers WR in the screen -- as per the NFL rules it was intentional grounding. I've seen balls closer to a WR than that one called Intentional Grounding before.
  18. Didn't go past the line of scrimmage so it doesn't matter. The LOS was just past the 10 yardline, ball hit at about the 9. Intentional grounding bothers me, sometimes. I think the realistic chance of completion part should be emphasized, personally. I hate seeing QB's intentionally throw the ball two behind a RB who's not even looking his way and not getting flagged for it because there was a "receiver in the area." I'll admit, though, that while I think it was the right call, the way intentional grounding is usually called provides a reasonable point for those who think the Packers may have gotten screwed.
  19. I honestly don't know, it's hard to say. I think it's fairly obvious he was just throwing the ball away, and it didn't go past the line of scrimmage. It's definetely not an Illegal Forward pass, so a mistake was made there, but in my opinion, as per the NFL rulebook, a safety should've been called as Intentional Grounding is defined as:
