  1. I'm just throwing it out there. Personally I don't like the idea of moving Jeter to third. I guess he'll just have to play it out at short and we'll suffer. There's really nowhere for him to go. Just because never heard him say it doesnt mean he didn't say it. He said it in an SI interview back in 2001. It was a joint article about him and A-Rod and their friendship after A-Rod signed with the Rangers, before all the Esquire ******** went down. And when the idea was thrown around a few years ago of moving Jeter to center he expressed his concerns then too, and no it wasn't a joke. You don't know s*** about me, so don't pretend you do. And don't f***ing call me "silly willy" again bro, you're just making yourself look bad. There's no need to use the quote button when my post is right beneath yours, idiot. And how do you figure LaRoche could help Cano? Help him with what? What problem did I get correct, all knowing Zac? I said he sometimes didn't focus. How is Adam Laroche (who ironically has ADHD and doesn't take medicine for it) gonna help Cano focus? Ass-clown. There's a differnece between misspelling and a typo. What I did was a typo, what you constantly do is misspell because you didn't pay attention in 2nd and 3rd grade. Maybe we should get Adam LaRoche to help you learn to pay attention better. And why wouldn't you worry about C.C. leaving? He clearly doesn't really like it here, and if someone is willing to give him close to what the Yankees offer he's gonna take it. He had no choice this year due to the economy, nobody was going to come close to our offer. But in 3 years, with (hopefully) a better economy that shouldn't be as big a problem. Frankly if we win a World Series by the time he opts out I let him walk. I don't like the ******** games he's played with us. If he doesn't want to be here, and just wants to come aboard on the short-term for the big payday then f*** him.
  2. You have a point, but I think Cano is more focused now. Who knows, it could be a problem. But I think with Manny, plus CC and Burnett we already punched our ticket tot he World Series. We tentatively have the best offense and startign rotation in the game. Not to mention Mo in the back end. With Manny I become increasingly assured that we win a World Series before C.C. bolts in 3 years.
  3. I doubt it. Jeter can't play the outfield. He claims he is uncomfortable with judging fly balls (go figure when you consider how good he is at handling infield pop-ups), he lacks range, and he doesn't have the arm to play out there. What gives you this indication, just a hunch or do you actually have something concrete to back it up? I'm guessing it's a hunch, and you don't seem to have very good hunches. ..btw nice picture sequence, very entertaining I'll give you props for something.
  4. For real? Did you just call me silly? So you're an 11 year old homo? And IIIIIII would embarass you? You're an embarrassment to Yankee fans everywhere. And as for insulting, you really need to learn how to organize your thoughts and words and keep them f***ing straight. If you're not 11 you dropped out of school in the 5th grade because you have no reading, writing, or thinking skills. As for Manny...we are all aware of his antics. We are also all aware of his abilities. I think if he came home on a 2 or 3 year deal to the Red Sox arch-rival (how many times over the past few years did he say he wanted to play for the Yankees to stick it to the Red Sox?), in a new beautiful Stadium that has gorgeous clubhouses bigger than some peoples homes, I think he would produce. Would we still have to deal with "Manny being Manny" from time to time, sure. But I think if he came along, the front office and coaching staff would quickly establish some ground rules in Spring Training to get him in check. I know Girardi is a hard-ass and won't take much s***, no matter how much the player makes. Aside from that I just have a feeling he would adore playing in NY, a stones throw from where he grew up, with all his hometown family and friends able to watch him everyday and keep him grounded. I think it's a good match on the short-term, and apparently although Cashman doesn't like the idea, both Hal and Hank do and are going to make a strong push.
  5. Seems that the mitochondrial disorder Rocco Baldelli had been diagnosed with following a long history of injury, which effected his stamina and ability to play regularly on back to back days was misdiagnosed. Turns out that after visiting the Cleveland clinic he was diagnosed with channelopathy, a non-progressive, highly treatable disease. The treatment should help with his extreme fatigue and help make him a suitable regular player again. How convenient that he's a free agent, should improve his chances of getting a better deal. I'm not at all familiar with channelopathy, so perhaps if a doctor wants to break it down for us, and how it could be mistaken for a mitochondrial disorder please do so. Jacko? Here's the link- http://www.abc6.com/sports/36277274.html
  6. Bill James and Moneyball is the last thing I would suggest to a beginner baseball fan. You're gonna skew his whole interpretation of the game (and let's keep in mind, that's what it is). You guys trying to brainwash him already?
  7. I think they would get a better return if they make the trade in-season. Perhaps they're just looking to wait.
  8. waaah nobody backed me up ); How old are you dude, 11? So I would insult you by recognizing my favorite sports team's historical accomplishments throughout the span of their existence and not exclusively during my life-span? I seriously think you're borderline retarded. Either that or you're like 10 years old, which is cool but just say so that way I can overlook your idiocies and be nice. I just have a hard time tolerating retardation from a reasonably aged person.
  9. yeah that's been ongoing due to his divorce. He really doesn't want to, but might have no choice. It's been a story for a while now. He's been really devoted to the padres, so hopefully he can hang on to them without his bloodsucker of a soon-to-be ex-wife complicating things further.
  10. Well that sums it up. Thanks guys. As for Atlanta getting back in on Peavy, I mean who knows. It's looking more and more likely that the Pads are becoming content with just holding onto him, but it could happen.
  11. We trust you buddy, we trust you. We know Dierkes does a great job with that site, no worries, we trust you Also, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, looks like Furcal will be going back to Atlanta, which is kind of surprising. Financials of the agreement have not been reported yet. There were whispers of some slight mutual interest early in the offseason if they could move Escobar in a Peavy deal, but the Braves/Furcal whispers have silenced. It's been reported in recent weeks that the Final 4 in contention for Furcal were the Dodgers, A's, Royals, and Blue Jays; so this one comes as somewhat of a shock, considering they still have Escobar. It looks like they will try to trade him, but with Furcal on board his trade value decreases. They could just move him elsewhere in the infield, as he can play second and third too.
  12. Word. I'm tired of seeing s***-brown font. he was quoting me. Retard just doesn't know how to use the quote function. We don't NEED Teixeira for that kind of money at 8 years. We just got out from underneath several long-term committments that went sour for us towards the end, why does everybody suddenly want to do it all over again. I thought the point was to take a new approach when all of these long-term burdensome contracts expired. We just signed C.C. for 7 years and Burnett for 5 for a combined total of 6 billion dollars, we really don't need Teixeira. Would he help, sure. But we don't NEED him. This isn't gonna define s*** for Hal by any means, dumbass. And look where that got us for so many years. That's a legit point, but consider that Cano made adjustments in his swing last year and started to turn it around towards the end. He's done well in winter ball, and is working on mastering his new stance and learning to be more patient and selective. Kevin Long has done a great job since becoming the hitting coach, and he puts in so much work with Cano. I'm convinced last year was just an off-year for him. I certainly hope so at least. But I think the Yankees, as well as Robinson Cano are best served with Cano batting third with the best protection anybody could have in Alex Rodriguez (and hopefully Manny Ramirez). Think about how much better he would be with Manny behind him. I say you're wrong. we have a much deeper lineup with A-Rod batting 4th and Manny batting 5th. With the exception of a few months in 2004 when he first got here A-Rod has always been the cleanup hitter here. There's reasons for that I suppose. I don't see them changing that now when the lineup is best served with him staying where he is. It's 26 buddy. And yeah, I've seen four. You can't fault me for my date of birth, and just because I've only witnessed 4 doesn't mean I should disregard any of my team's previous history prior to my birth. What kind of fan would I be? ....oh right, I'd be a clown, like you.
  13. Which would be fair if you ask me. But that's half of what he made last year and there's no way that flies.
  14. Dude you really need to learn how to post on a message board. And while I don't condone all of Manny's antics and behaivor, he's one of the best hitters in the history of the game. And nobody said the 5-hole was the problem you idiot, you need to look beyond things like that. Consider that Cano hits 3rd replacing Abreu, A-Rod 4th, and Manny 5th. Cano's getting great pitches to hit because he's got two of the best hitters in the world behind him, and the only person in the league capable of giving A-Rod optimum protection in the batting order is Manny Ramirez. With Manny 5th, batting behind A-Rod we have an incredible lineup, and nobody's getting pitched around. Clown!
  15. haha word. So how about Manny and Tex? lol Ken Davidoff reports that the Yankees are going to try to avoid Scott Boras this offseason, and as we know he happens to represent both Tex and Manny. I doubt it's true, I'm not a big Davidoff guy and idk where he got that from, but I guess we'll see. I hope thats not the case because as we know I badly want manny protecting A-Rod in the 5 spot.
  16. Say what you want about me and my username, but I've been posting here since 2005 with relatively no issues. You're here a day and you're questioning my baseball knowledge and whatnot? Why don't you go look through my 5000+ posts before you come question what I know. I could school you on baseball in my f***ing sleep. You can't even f***ing spell. Why don't you build up some credibility and show us some of the baseball knowledge you claim to have before you start attacking others. Either that or go crawl back under that bridge you came from. And it's f***ing AVATAR...dimwit. I'm typically of the belief that here on talksox us Yankee fans have to stick together, but you're making that difficult for me right now.
  17. Me either, but who knows. We'll see I guess.
  18. Which you seem to be lacking in. Now hey, I could be wrong, but if you took the time to write like a person and actually display this baseball knowledge in a clear, concise, coherent manner maybe I would take your posts more seriously. Based on the things you say, the way you write, and your s***-brown words (you couldnt choose a better color?) my impression of you thus far is that you're a dim-witted 13 year old punk who likes the Yankees because it's the cool thing to do. Hopefully I'm wrong, but you've given me no indication otherwise just yet. Seriously, we're not trying to come down on you or be dicks, but if you want people here to take you seriously there's a certain way you need to carry yourself. Otherwise you won't last very wrong.
  19. From Jon "The Man" Heyman http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/hot_stove/posts/32601 The team is apparently unknown, so who knwos if it's legit or if they're taking a page out of the Scott Boras book of negotiating and adding the fictional "mystery team" to the equation. Truthfully, any team willing to pay him $36 million over 3 years can have him (unless it's you guys) if he would prefer not to take the Yankees $10 Million offer. I know it's not a huge deal, but I made a new thread only because there isn't really a Pettitte thread, we've just been discussing him in the Burnett and Lowe threads. Figured this would just reduce any confusion.
  20. Well I wasn't gonna go that far, but you can say that if you'd like. Oh, and pintripezac, you're a clown. Please go elsewhere with your s***-brown words, because all they represent to me is s***. If you can't have the decency to present your thought in a coherant manner, I really have no interest in reading what you have to say.
