  1. I thought you were saying i was owned...which wasn't the case. but if you want to be a 13 year old nerd and use the expression "pwned" feel free. (Where did the P come from anyway, I see that more and more now, I just dont get it though) That's where you're wrong. You're not seeing the big picture, you're just loving the fact that a Yankee got pinched for jucing again, and you're soakign it in and reveling in it and enjoying it. What you should be feeling is concern. This just proves even more so how wide spread it is, and that just because mainly NY guys were outed in the Mitchell Report (which got it's information primarily from NY sources, go figure) doesn't mean that the problem didn't exist outside of NY and the bay Area. s***, A-Rod was in Texas in 2003 when he tested positive. Every team has or had players who used at one time, you can deny that your beloved Red Sox fall into this category all you want but you're straight up in denial.
  2. Shut up already will you. This goes way beyond a Yankee-Red Sox beef. Let that aspect of it go. All this does is prove that it was so wide-spread and that the Mitchell Report, comprised of information primarily gathered from 2 NY sources, was far from a complete list of users. For every Yankee who used theres a Detroit Tiger, Philadelphia Philly, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cub, Oakland Athletic (or 2), Minnesota Twin, Atlanta Brave, SF Giant (or 7) who did the same thing. This really f***ed up our game. It's great that we're cleaning it up, which we can see between the lines with so many former All-stars hitting early declines, so many players who once considered great out of work or without a guaranteed job, the shrinking contract figures (of course most of that is attributed to the economy, but I think this has something to do with it as well), less HRs, etc. It's unfortunate that it comes it such a painful cost for the fans who have to learn of the sin of many of their former players. I'm not too upset about this, more shocked. but when Clemens was outed for example, I was devestated. This is the only way though and as hard as it is we deserve to know. I'm just disgusted right now.
  3. How do you figure? f*** off pal nobody gives a s*** what you have to say right now.
  4. yeah just saw your thread after I posted this, my bad. If a mod wants to throw my post in his thread and delete this one feel free to do so. I agree. f*** Orza and f*** A-Rod. Should have let him walk last year. DAMNIT!!!

  6. lol fixed that
  7. hahahahahahahaha lmfaozz very funny pal. Yeah exactly. But it doesnt look likely that he'll get that.
  8. I saw this story and was a little surprised. If he's willing to come to camp on a Minor League deal I'd be more than happy to take him.
  9. Because a conscious organizational effort has been made to keep this year's payroll under last year's payroll. I hope if they do commit serious money to him it's not long-term, which is probably what he'll be hoping for if he does indeed settle for a 1 year this offseason. I do think he'll remain very productive over the next few years, but definitely not worth $20 mil. But that's of course what he'll expect and he'll most certainly get it. In a utopic world we would sign him for 2 years, but in a perfect world I would settle for about 3 years, $62 Mil, if he would even take that. That's a bit much though maybe, but I can see it happening.
  10. I don't mean anything by it, just in a joking nature. I actually respect dipre a lot as a poster and enjoy his insight. If he takes offense to it I'll certainly stop. Okay buddy??
  11. Whatever you say buddy.
  12. What a tool. It's never occurred to you that an offseason comprised largely of hunting and eating can cause someone to gain some pounds? isn't that a photo from last year anyway? Anyway, you sound like a sad, whiney little girl. "Nooooooo, theres no way he's that fat it just cant be possible. Wahhhh conspiracy I tell you, someone photoshopped it!! That's all there is to it" You got to be kidding me. I'm sure the gut wasnt that big, but in the throwing motion I'm sure some of it was moving around when the picture was snapped, that's how it looks at least.
  13. Diaper have you been following the Serie Del Caribe? I love that MLB Network is carrying every game this year. In years passed I would be lucky to pick up a game on a Spanish speaking station from time to time, and although I would prefer to watch winter league play I am loving the fact that I have been able to watch live professional baseball all week. I'm liking Licey, as always.
  14. I'm hoping he does settle on a 1 year deal somewhere that way next year when Matsui, Damon, Nady, others come off the books we have room and money for him ...what a lineup that would be. 2-3-4-5: Jeter-Teixeira-Alex-Manny. OH MANNN!!!
  15. I agree about your point that self-preservation was the motive rather than honesty.
  16. Mussina just did a real good interview on WFAN with Mike Francesa. He had a lot to say about the book, and regarding the Rivera quotes he claims he didn't mean to bash Rivera or blame him for any losses in particular, and even went as far as to say that without Rivera he couldn't have accomplished all that he accomplished duringhis 8 years with the Yankees. He claims that he was pointing out the differences between the pre-2001 teams and the post-2001 teams, a comparrison that wasn't just limited tothe Rivera quotes. Of course to some extent it's ********, but I don't think he had any ill intentions of bashing Mo, he knows who Rivera is and what he's done.
  17. After being DFA'd following the Pettitte signing Chase Wright has been traded to Milwaukee for OF/C Eric Fryer. The Brewers also added former Yankee (and Red Sox) RAMIRO MENDOZA, who last pitched professionally in 2006 pitching for Columbus in the the Yankee organization prior to the move of the AAA team to Scranton. He last appeared in the bigs in 2005 pitching in 1 game during a September callup with us. I'm really pulling for him to make the Brewers and contribute. He is on Panama's preliminary roster for the WBC, but whether he makes the final roster or chooses to just go to Spring Training and focus on making the Brewers remains to be seen. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090204&content_id=3797480&vkey=hotstove2008&fext=.jsp&partnerId=rss_mlb
  18. What does Henry's future ex-wife have anything to do with the Steinbrenners?
  19. I think it was potentially a good deal at the time, if Wily Mo lived up to the billing he got for years, since he was signed as an amateur international FA to a Major league contract by the Yankees. Can't blame them for making the trade at the time considering Pena's potential, but yes it's not looking good now. Hindsight is 20/20 though. Can't really get on Theo too much for this one.
  20. Wouldn't shock me, he's done it before. I've seen him do it, with his back turned to me of course
  21. Book comes out tomorrow people, let's brace ourselves Unfortunately I won't get my hands on it until next week when I'll be getting an autographed copy as a b-day present. I guess it's worth the wait, but I am aching to pick this book up. I'll get through it in 2 days tops lol.
  22. You can't trade a player who was just signed as a Free Agent during the offseason until June 15th. However with their consent exceptions can be made, I believe. But they essentially have no-trade capability until June 15.
  23. Congrats those of you who won. Thanks again Cape, you are that dude!
