What are you talking about he's signed to a 2 year deal? Show me where it says that. As far as I remember Mitre signed a Minor League deal during the offseason, I dont remember anything about a guaranteed contract, nor a second year. Edit: just went back and checked, you're half-right. Mitre signed a one year deal worth some guaranteed money with an option for next year. My mistake. Btw, what's going on with this game? Are the umpires taking a night off or something? Why did Swisher remain at bat after he got hit in the elbow with a full count? And that ball obviously hit off of Hairston's foot, bad call by the umps. Good thing this is a blowout, otherwise Girardi might have some legitimate gripes about this game.

I agree, I think the old road jerseys used until last year looked great. If they wanna keep the navy blue alternate that wouldn't be too big a deal, but the everyday road jerseys are tough on the eyes. They should definitely consider switching back to the red.

Damn. That's s*****, I feel for the guy. Living in the area where he played most of his Minor League ball we've seen how hard he fought to get back into Baseball, and a relapse is so sad to hear about. I just wanna know why he f***ed around on his wife, shes HOT!

Look guys, we took a LOT of s*** anytime any of out players were outed. Especially from most of you guys here on the board. I think you can take it for one day, what the Yankee fans here are dishing out today is nothing to what we had to take from you guys. So just swallow it, be gracious, and let it boil over. It's a shame we're here having this discussion, as steroids is still unfortunately a hot topic.

Word is theyre in serious talks with the Reds about Arroyo, and that a deal "will get done." God I hope not... See if I can find that link again...

If Rose is reinstated and elected into the hall then i think two things should happen. 1) reinstate Joe Jackson. 2) On their plaques in Cooperstown, right around where it lists the teams the players played for and when they played there they should also note their bans, and the duration listing when they were banned and when they were reinstated. Better than an asterisk, don't you think?

Wilpon's got plenty of money in his own personal fortune. If he really wants to add Halladay and make a run money wouldn't stop him. If they weren't so decimated by injuries as it is the addition of Halladay could really push them over the top. Unfortunately if they added him now, it wouldn't make much of a difference.

Exactly, Ricciardi is in a great spot here. And honestly I think there's a better chance he keeps Halladay, unless he's overwhelmed with an incredible package. But all this talk about Halladay being able to demand a trade after this season if he is moved is being blown out of proportion, IMO. He has a no trade, and must approve a deal to any team. Why would he approve a deal to a team he doesn't want to play for and would only demand they trade him 3-4 months later?

I think they might think about moving him in the right deal, but with the other prospects Toronto was asking for this wasn't that deal. I know they love Niese and Tejada, and are pretty high on Parnell. I can't blame them for not making the deal, but Halladay would be a GREAT addition for them. Maybe they can revisit it and try and work something out. Doubtful though.
