A save = 3 or more innings pitched to finish the game, or coming on in relief with a maximum 3-run lead, or if the tying run is on-deck and finishing the game.

It was a very good deal for the Pirates. Akinori is a smart, solid ballplayer and I think he brings a lot more to the table than his numbers would indicate.

Shirt pic wasn't that funny, good try though. I'm not going anywhere near this one as I think family issues should be left alone. Lord knows I've had my share and I would hate for them to be exposed to the public. I feel bad for Joba and his family, but as I understand he's never really had much of a relationship with his mom. It's an unfortunate situation, the woman badly needs help but she'll more likely get locked up, and understandably so.

Also, idk if this thread is meant for strictly Red sox hot stove talk, or Hot Stove discussion in general. Until someone says otherwise, I'm going to assume the latter. In that case, Jon Heyman is reporting that the Yankees will give Johnny Damon a 2-year deal after the World Series. GREAT! We get noodle-arm out there for another 2 years. Lovely. As much as I like the job he's done this season, I think it's time for Johnny to go. I would be open to keeping him around for ONE more year, at MOST. 2 years is ridiculous though. At least go with 1 year guaranteed and an option. All I see Damon doing over the next 2 years is continuing to break down.
