  1. After reading more and more about him I've really changed my mind about the Golson acquisition. He can't hit but he's got a plus arm and great speed, not to mention great makeup. Good depth move. If Randy Winn hits like he did last year I'd rather replace him with Golson, who at least has some upside.
  2. I think we get Crawford anyway. Brett Gardner is not, nor will he ever be anything better than a fourth outfielder with good speed who plays good defense. If we pass on Crawford in favor of having Gardner play everyday for the foreseeable future I'm personally writing a letter to Hal Steinbrenner, Randy Levine, and Lonn Trost expressing my displeasure for the job he's doing. Not that it'll be taken seriously, but I will be very disappointed if Crawford doesn't end up in the Bronx. And I've NEVER had a problem with Cashman before, unlike Gom, and have always defended him. As for Winn, whatever, he is what he is. I think it's probably better than 50/50 he doesn't finish the season on the roster anyway.
  3. Well idk, you might be surpried Montreal's not too far from Cooperstown. But I agree and there's no denying the Expos failure as a franchise, but they were a franchise nonetheless and their great players should be recognized as such. When/if Vlad gets inducted into Cooperstown I would make a case for him to don an Expos cap on his plaque as well.
  4. I'm still shocked that they're giving him a base of $10mil. Unbelievable. Good for him though, hopefully he returns to form and lives up to it.
  5. Tell me about it...unfortunately we've reached our "budget," and this is what we're stuck with.. Cervelli Pena Gardner/Winn Hoffman
  6. Yeah. Winn is a better defender, and he won't hurt us out of the 9 hole, but it's still a downgrade. He's only making $2mil though, so that about wraps up our offseason.
  7. I don't see how that makes him any more valuable. As for Winn, it's not a bad signing but I'm still a little disappointed. It's whatever though
  8. When healthy they have a potentially solid lineup, just their pitching is a disaster aside from Santana. Thankfully they pitch in that pitcher's paradise to mask how bad their staff really is. But every year I think the Mets are the biggest crap-shoot, they could be a first or second place team with their ability, or they can be a last place team. Yeah but they're the Yankees, it's not exactly like they're hurting for money. Instead we gst stcuk with Randy Winn, when for a few more dollars Damon gives us a better chance at another championship. I thought that was the bottom line.
  9. Me either. Smh...
  10. The Mets should just sit out this year. Not even play.
  11. Sheets gets $10m plus incentives from Oakland. Great deal for him! http://danny-knobler.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/8590096/19783010
  12. Our response to Nady signing with the Cubs? ......Greg Golson! http://trsullivan.mlblogs.com/archives/2010/01/rangers_traded_greg_golson_to.html for Mitch Hilligoss. Idk, I might have rather kept Hilligoss than gotten this bum.
  13. What do you mean the "king?" You signed up in November and have 14 f***ing posts. I'll be the king before you ever will. You just a clown my dude! http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Everyone%20Else/images-2/clown.jpg ^^^drock ^^^
  14. I hope he just tajes whatever deal they offer him. Money shouldn't be an issue, the motherf***er is f***in rich enough just come back and win another championship!
  15. Yup, and Atkins is going to play first.
  16. Probably lol. I know for me though baseball=religion, so it wouldn't be an issue if I were in his shoes. The money plus the fact that I wouldn't be forbidden from having sex ever again would be a plus too.
  17. Wow, that was bad. I'm a catholic though, so I can joke like that. For real though, you definitely gotta respect someone like that who does something for love and not money.
  18. Lets just hope his passion is god and not little boys.....
  19. Well this is interesting. Grant Desme, ranked #8 prospect in Oakland's system has decided to retire from baseball to become a catholic priest. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/A-s-prospect-leaving-baseball-for-call-of-the-pr?urn=mlb,215238
  20. I can't believe women find Varitek attractive.
