  1. You've made A-Rod remarks though, and on a daily basis you make a confrontational and trollish post directed towards SOMEONE on the board. As for me "complaining" about you, I couldn't give a s*** honestly. My only issue with you is this double-standard of sorts that you have attatched to yourself, where you find a way to justify your constant trolling, then bash others for any minuscule remark they make that you might happen to disagree with, whether it be opinion or fact or whatever. Whatever dude. Before you start crying that I hijacked your Gay.D. Drew thread just know that I'm going to call you out on EVERY unnecessary, trollish remark you make from now on.
  2. Geeze, for someone who always has something to say you're pretty sensitive. You like and appreciate Drew, and that's fine. I constantly took s*** for really liking Melky Cabrera, and I took the ribbing as good natured. Red Sox fans ALWAYS have something to say about A-Rod; who's contributions are enormous, including remarks regarding his sexuality, family, his worth as a person, etc. For you to get so worked up over "man crush" is a little ridiculous. Add some length to that fuse buddy.
  3. I'm just busting chops. I'm not going to argue the importance of J.D. Drew to the Red Sox, or his worth as an player. Despite the fact that I don't personally like him, he's still a top-notch player who's production this year will be key to the Red Sox success. It's just become very apparent over time how much Dipre really likes Drew (due to his constant support, defense, and avatar changes), so I had to take this golden opportunity to poke a little fun.
  4. Someone's got a man crush!
  5. They don't need an option year, he's not yet eligible for free agency so unless they non-tender him after this year he won't be a free agent. They'll have to settle through re-negotiations or arbitration or something, but unless they don't want him he'll be there beyond this year.
  6. I agree, I just don't know if Melancon should start the season in the bigs or start in AAA and build on his success there before coming up, rather than breaking camp with the team and possibly struggling and then being sent down to straighten his head out. Idk though, unless Logan or one of the other lefties in camp "wows" us then I wouldn't have too much of a problem with this.
  7. He should, I think. As should Nady. But I always liked Wang a lot and I wish him the best. The Nats haven't officially announced an agreement but they have a press conference scheduled for Friday. But who knows, maybe the Yanks match it last minute and bring him back into the fold. More than likely that's just wishful thinking on my part though. I know if he's healthy, especially in the NL, he can turn it around.
  8. I don't see them carrying both Russo and Pena, although stranger things have happened. Where's Nick Johnson though? I think you replace Russo with Johnson and your projection is dead-on! Also, no second lefty?
  9. I can't wait for the snowboarding to start tomorrow, Shaun White's gonna KILL IT! As usual... Everything I watched so far has been good though. I got really into the mens speed skating today.
  10. They say he's 19 (that's the age I've been hearing associated with him), but in the article they say 21?
  11. Na I think Cano's got him beat with his quick hands and all
  12. That's fair, I'm just curious as to how pivot% is calculated because to the naked eye it looked like he made great improvements last year with his pivot and overall double-play turning in general.
  13. okay........please explain pivot % and how it is calculated for me. Because to me it looked like his pivot improved tremendously last year. And the thing that makes him so good at turning DPs is his quick hands when getting rid of the ball, whether dishing it off to Jeter or receiving it before firing to first. His arm, range, hands, and pivot (imo) all improved greatly last year, and I expect them to continue to improve.
  14. He can hit and throw the ball further, and can cover more ground. Few were better at turning double plays this year than Cano as well. Is Cano a better player than Pedroia though? No. There is no underlying definitive way to define talent, but whatever it is, Cano has got more raw talent than Pedroia. I'lll agree to disagree though.
  15. Fair enough, I would agree with that 100% Article was an interesting read though.. There are two big pieces of evidence...they're called your eyes. There are no statistics to evaluate natural talent, but just watch Cano play and his talent is undeniable. The most talented players aren't always the best, and there are tons of examples of that. Look at Derek Jeter for instance, there are plenty of players in the game, and at his position, who are more talented than Jeter. But there are few players in the game better than him. Nobody who's saying that Cano is more talented is arguing against the point that Pedroia is the better player. That's because he is, as a player, superior to Cano. That's undeniable. But somebody's worth as a player isn't just defined by their physical ability, because if it was Cano would be better. Remember, 90% of baseball is half-mental touche lol I absolutely hate it. It's not as supportive as people make it to be sometimes. It's alright for reference sometimes, but it's legs aren't strong enough to be so supportive when making a case for something. It's unfortunate that there isn't a more reliable defensive stat though.
  16. Hairston's bat wasn't what appealed to me, it was his versatility. His offense could be easily replicated.
  17. I don't get what the big deal is. At the time he wrote it (2008) there was some truth to it. He didn't say that the Sox were racist, just that coincidentally most of their roster was white, and based on that coupled with their past history with minority players that some free agents might be discouraged from going to Boston. Now that the Sox have acquired several minorities since then, especially this offseason, he's backing off his statement. Sure, it was probably foolish to even write the article in the first place, but (to me at least) he didn't seem to have any ill intentions, nor do I recall him attacking the Red Sox personnel because of this. He was simply making an observation that at the time held some water.
  18. Good job, champ.
  19. I still don't get it lol. What was that? Thank you so much SFoC, you're the man!
  20. Jon Heyman tweets that the Yankees have signed Marcus Thames to a minor league deal worth $900k if he makes the team. I like this one a lot, I liked Thames when he was coming up and still vividly remember him hitting the first pitch he ever saw as a Major Leaguer off of Randy Johnson over the left field wall at Yankee Stadium. I remember how disappointed I was when we traded him for Big Rube', but Ruben grew on me and I didn't mind it as much. I'm glad we got him back though, but with the Winn signing becoming official today, and for twice what Thames is getting payed, it makes me scratch my head. If they both make the team it pretty much ensures that Hoffman is headed back to the Dodgers, unless they find a way to move Winn (my preference), although that's probably doubtful.
  21. J.D. Drew
  22. Dipre you're a clown. I'm glad you're having fun and that you probably feel a whole lot better about yourself now, but damn give it a rest man. But first let me take the opportunity to thank you for this... LOL Laugh of the day, I needed that. Carry on...
