  1. Biggio is definitely one of my favorite players, it's amazing how many times he's been hit now, of course he has been around long enough to see the Astros logo change three times.
  2. I'm in agreement with you, Sizzlin. I'd rather see him make his first start back with that extra time off from the All-Star break. PLUS that first start back would be against the Yankees at the Fens.
  3. Should come to no surprise to anyone that this year in Sports Illustrated's "The Fortune 50" (where SI lists the 50 highest-paid U.S. athletes) six New York Yankees made the list: #11: Alex Rodriguez Salary/Winnings: $20,076,000 Endorsments: $6,000,000 #12: Derek Jeter Salary/Winnings: $19,650,000 Endorsments: $6,000,000 #22: Mike Mussina Salary/Winnings: $19,000,000 Endorsments: $500,000 #27: Randy Johnson Salary/Winnings: $16,000,000 Endorsments: $2,000,000 #37: Kevin Brown: Salary/Winnings: $15,714,000 Endorsments: $500,000 #39: Jason Giambi: Salary/Winnings: $15,500,000 Endorsments: $500,000 As another 'slap in the face' is that only one Yankee player is in the top ten in giving back, that being of course Derek Jeter giving $742,313 anual outlay to help sponsor after school programs in NYC and his hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Another pathetic part is that within 39 of all of sports players you have SIX of them and only THREE are arguably worth the money. It's just all seems pathetic to me, thanks for once again reminding me how spoiled some of these New York players are, SI. If they listed the top 75, every Yankees player may be on the list.
  4. I believe it's t-minus 10 days if he starts in the finale of the four game series against the O's. Can't wait to get him back whether it's before or right after the All-Star break.
  5. "Hey Robert Craft, you go over to Russia and you lose your Super Bowl ring? Can you take Keith Foulke with you next time?"
  6. Good for the Yankees, finally considering getting rid of that cheater.
  7. Hey, Nomar? BOOOOOOO... C'mon now leave the guy alone.
  8. Yep, your right.... I am 2-1. I also started the May 6th thread against Seattle.
  9. How about that, the Sox are now 1-1 when Sox fan in Tex starts game threads (last loss came against Maddux in Chicago) and have a 1.000 home record when I start it as well.
  10. Heard that on EEI this morning. Pretty pathetic on Vladimir Putin's part if you ask me.
  11. Stop trashing Francona, joe. I'm not even going to read that. He puts his heart and soul for the team... he was up 'til 1 last night talking with Theo about what they should do. Don't be a jackass.
  12. Well, if no one is going to start it 15 minutes before game time, I will: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/123801.jpg Tim Wakefield (6-6, 4.05 ERA) vs. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/134003.jpg Scott Elarton (4-2, 4.76 ERA) It was one week ago that the Guardians were swept and embrassed in Cleveland at the hands of the defending World Champions, and here we are with the same Guardians 9 outs away from doing the same thing to the Sox at Fenway. In the last 22 innings Wake has allowed a total of one run against opponents. Wake was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA vs. the Guardians in 2004. Elarton did not face the Sox. 13. ttt, with two horrible games I thought I'd bring this back up to the top.
  14. Foulke made $3.5M last year, I have no clue what the amount he makes is this year. Anyone?
  15. If your stats are right (which I'm sure they are), SchillingIsTheNatural, I'm all for Arroyo closing... only problem is I don't think he's ever done that in his career and if he hasn't we may not want to start now. When Schil is back and Arroyo goes to the pen, we just need to bring Arroyo in when we need to get some outs, probably not to close games.
  16. He pitched on the 25th and 26th in Philly, so I think we just decided not to use him tonight.
  17. I'm sure it's not all that hard to figure out. I mean, he only has three pitches, a two seem fastball, a four seem fastball and a changeup. Batters must have figured something out on him because they are just drilling his pitches.
  18. With the 18th pick the Celtics select a kid out Gulf Shores Academy (a private school down here in Houston) named Gerald Green. He's a 6'8 forward who averaged 33 PPG as a senior. Hopefully he plays well for the C's. http://www.nba.com/media/celtics/Gerald435x290b.jpg
  19. Nope, it's my fault for the loss, I did everything the same except wore my navy blue fitted Red Sox hat for the second straight night instead of the navy blue 2004 World Series Champions hat. (now, it's your turn -- you reading this -- to take blame for the game with something you did)
  20. You have to have a log in for the Post, JeterWifey213
  21. I was going to post the same thread except I was thinking it would be called, "Foulke, you suck" but this works. Myers can close games, end of story... trade him.
  22. Jackass, I've been to a Red Sox game more recently than you've been to a Yankees game. I'll put money down on that one. I have been to Boston, I have been to a Red Sox game. Honestly, how old did you say you were? I put a better explanation on how long and why the last thing you want to do is call me a bandwagon fan on another thread. You can respond over there. P.S. The Yankees have won a couple, is that why you're back?
  23. That's hilarious, gambit!
  24. Yeah, "riding the bandwagon", that's what I've been doing for the last seven years. I don't think you can be rooting for a team for 5 years then all of a sudden your 5 outs away from the World Series with a decent lead and it's ripped right away from you by your most hated rival. Then you come out the very next season, lose the AL East for the 9th year in a row, I believe, make it to the playoffs and go down 0-3 to the same guys that knocked you out last year... at that point I believe any bandwagon fan would have thrown in the towel. Then, I save up birthday, Christmas, and any other money I work for or receive until I have $200 just so I can watch the Sox games on NESN. I read the Globe on their website most mornings, I went to a game earlier this year, I listen to WEEI online all the time and I have 881 posts on here.... I don't know what else I can do to prove myself.
  25. I guess I'll make it majority then, definitely Orioles. In the end, the Yankees are more dangerous than the Orioles no matter what the standings are. Plus I'll never root for the Yankees, ever.
