  1. I still remember watching last year's pre-season game in Pittsburgh, when your guys beat my team (the Texans) 38-3.... and I watched every minute of it. Revenge game: Reliant Stadium September 18 in Houston, we'll beat you when it counts.
  2. Yep, Yanksin2010, it is pathetic that we couldn't get hit him Lieter at all. So keep Lieter over Brown.
  3. Also, I don't know if this is exactly what you're talking about but: Bill Mueller is capable of hitting that three-run HR in the ninth off Rivera turning around our season... A-Rod isn't.
  4. And the difference between me and you, is that if we go 0-71 the rest of this season, I'm still going to be here. If you go 72-0 and win the AL East by 30 games, and we make the Wild Card and play you in the playoffs & we win the first three games by beating Rivera in each game, then you come back and win the next four games 17-1, I'll still be here defending the Sox. P.S. All that "Yankees sucking" has been true. This is right about where I thought we would be before the season started... in a close race with us ahead of you. It's still a long season, and if we are still holding the lead in the AL East with the way we've been playing of recently, then that's perfect.
  5. As long as you don't praise him and post disgusting pictures of the guy, you'll be fine. So your fave. player just tears up your fave. team.... mixed emotions, or do the Sox always come first?
  6. And that is supposed to be a plus? You bring in a guy up from AAA and sign a guy with an ERA in the 6's and you go 1-1. With Pavano and Brown in two games, that's 0-2.
  7. I don't know why you're making such a big deal about being right behind us. We have the most home games left in the majors, and this is what your upcoming schedule looks like: 3 games @ Texas 4 games @ Anaheim 3 games v. Minnesota 3 games v. Anaheim 3 games @ Cleveland 3 games @ Toronto 3 games v. Chicago (White Sox) 4 games v. Texas 3 games @ DADDY tampa bay 3 games @ Chicago (White Sox) You're not even capable of beating Tampa Bay on the road.... how do you expect to win some of those series?
  8. Congrats, you have the series while we have the division. Congrats on your moral victories, but you're still behind us... "and that's the only thing that matters"
  9. Please tell me this isn't a thread about what you've done in the past.... congrats on the 20 championships (just a guess) that you've won prior to my lifetime, but it's over. 1999 to the present is enough history for me. For instance: I'm not going to go brag to Astros fans about the World Series that we won in 1918 or 2004 because they don't have one yet.... see, us Red Sox fans look at it year by year and now last years over, and we're ahead of you again this year. Congats on having 26, but you haven't done anything for in a few years, and if that's alright for you, then let it be that way.
  10. YanksHater213, I'm sure you know more about the Celtics more than I do... how much of a chance do you think Peirce has of coming back? I thought Peirce's contract was supposed to be discussed this weekend, but apparently it wasn't.
  11. Glad you enjoyed your trip.... hope everyone treated you fine, as well.
  12. Pussies, Fenway Park has always been better and this is their way of trying to keep up.
  13. I don't know why you'd bring up great plays with Millar. I've seen more from Olerud, and he's been on the bench for just about the first 8 innings of each game, if he even gets to come into the game.
  14. Well, I'm done listening to ESPN Radio and searching web.... I've come up empty as I'm sure everyone else has.
  15. Too bad that Stern isn't a righty. I assume that we'd keep Nixon in there for Sunday.... makes more sense with those numbers that you guys have shown. .270 vs. leftys for Nixon, .235 for Millar.
  16. I'm starting to think that some guy just made this up.... there's a couple reports on a few message boards, but unless someone can for sure report that ESPNEWS had this at the bottom of the screen, I don't know if I believe it yet. I'm listening to ESPN Radio now, I'll tell you guys if I hear anything.
  17. Don't let his BA confuse you on the way he's playing. Over the last 30 days he's hitting .318, so it's not like this is a major slump or anything. Manny will be fine.
  18. I can't find a good Marlins site with anymore information that we're getting right now from NYYfans.com... I've looked at a few, but nothing much on a possible trade. The catch is of this all is the Marlins want to include Lowell and his 3 years, $25M in a trade so they can dump him off somewhere.
  19. People are saying that the whole "AJ Burnett to the Sox for Shoppach, Arroyo, and another prospect" will benefit the Sox, but down the road it may benefit the Marlins. Right now, if we pull this off, though, it's huge for us.
  20. Here's what Sizzlin is talking about on NYYfans.com: http://forums.nyyfans.com/showthread.php?t=86189
  21. Element, while we have this thread about MLB.tv and MLB Extra Innings going, explain something to me. You have both services, right? So on MLB.tv, what determines who's broadcast they use? Because I know all the Sox home games on MLB Extra Innings, you get NESN and then some of the road games you do. Such as all of the games in Toronto, some in Tampa Bay, occasionally in Baltimore. So how much of the time are the road games on NESN with MLB.tv? And a final question, do you get the pre-game stuff on NESN with MLB.tv, or no?
  22. BASEHIT! Mariners win in the bottom of the ninth, 3-2.
  23. Swinging bunt by Bloomquist.... a weird play, the ball ended up going into the stands. Men on second and third, none out and Chris Ray up to bat for the M's.
  24. Beltre singles, none out, one on for the Mariners.
  25. Yep, bought that before the year started... comes in handy when I want to watch the Sox. It's $119 now, and I think I payed $150 for the whole year when I bought it. It's definitely worth the price.... all the baseball you want. It's especially great for Red Sox Nation located outside New England.
