  1. 14-4!!!! How about that Millar, nice turnaround.!!!1 DO 100... This is the way it should be. This is the way we shiould mahandle teams like this. More of this tomorrow... Myers...Nice pick-up... I heard Nomore had two strikeouts, probably will go on DL tomorrow. Oh, what am I doing, I'll just enjoy this moment and savor the win, night boys!
  2. "Our already strong bullpen"????????????????????????????????????????????? What team have you been watching these past few months............... I seem to remember our bullpen coughing up home run after home run,. walking guys in and losing lead after lead...I seem to remember foulke looking horrible. My embree ( i couldnt resist-he probably is friends with bellhorn) pitched a couple of dandy's in minnesota recently. I'd say at the moment the lack of bullpen relief is among one of our biggest problems.
  3. well, er,um, okay...okay..you got me. But if you overlook the reason why--you still have to admit I am not attacking him any more. Let's just agree myers was a good pick up. And how about Mendoza.....back from the dead. Maybe there's hope for BK, after all.
  4. I agree.. he has experience and last night was used (suurprisingly) well as a lefty specialist who came in and struck someone out, and that was that. Williamson, Mendoze (did I just say that)-Timlin and well, now maybe we can hold some leads and/or stay in the game in the middle to the end of a game. And sarasoxfan is right, oops, I am right on this one els, I mean come on embree is just god awful......and i'll bet his numbers would be even more revolting if you counted the runners he's let in that he inherited. "the pitch by lefty alan embree, oh no it's another 95 mile per hour fastball, right down the middle...it's a drive...way back, and there it goes, another home run...." PU.... PS: At least I have shut up about bellhorn, you gotta give me that! Myers was an awesome pick-up.
  5. That Myers fellow looked good. Hopefully, Mr. Embree will either be shot or hang himself, I dont care which--and hopefully there will be enough rope left or a bullet will go astray and take out Adams. Williamson shoiuld be an unbelievable help and what about Mendoza, looking good. Which of course, means that Tony f***cona only uses him once a week. I mean why try and hold a lead or keep a game close when you can bring in Embree, adams, and lately Timlin and make it a convincing lose. If you wanna lose why not lose by a lot! Starters going 6 or 7..relief keeping it close..sounds like recipe even a moron could handle. Hey, that means its perfect for our manager. Lets make it two in a row tonight! Come on derek
  6. this guy sosa owns us. so far.
  7. Here's one of those sparkling quotes from the manager. I loved our matchup going into the game," said manager Terry Francona. "I think everybody did. It's a funny game. I don't have a good answer." IT'S A FUNNY GAME...Boy, that's inspiring.
  8. another banner night. Losing to the devil rays in race...pitiful. I dont see Francona with any urgency, with any fire, with any effort to fire this bunch up. It's the same old cliche riddled excuses. And why does he have to use embree has anyone but me noticed he just sucks the big one evry time out. This team has taken on the personality of its manager, a lifeless, lethargic buch of stiffs. We cant put three wins together. Meanwhile the O's are on a roll of 7. I know they wont do it, but I pray on Ted William's head I pray that they fire this crappy excuse for a manager.
  9. empire dont you have anything better to do than annoy us...arent there other members of your special ed class you could be bothering.
  10. If you ask me the Millar thing isnt bad. It is good in my opinion that these guys wannna play so much they get pissed when they dont, and that occasionally they say so. I like it I think it shows heart and caring which I have always thought was a little lackig on this years club. Indeed, I have wondered why theo got some of the guys he did making first base, and the outfield rather over crowded.. It is well documented that I despise Francona but given his goal to be loved by his players (win or lose) he does face an extraordinarily difficult task keeping guys moving in and out of lineup. The Millar's, McCarty's and Kapler's also make things (thank God) more difficult by playing well when they get a shot. I suppose there could be worse problems. Millar mouthed off and then apologized of course, he got to play becasue Manny got sick--so in a sense he got what he wanted. Anyway, it was nice to take two series in a row and get back to fenway against the devil rays. Now if we can get rid of a certain Yankmee fan on this site life will be good again.
  11. Question: What has three teeth and 200 eyes? Answer: A row of yankee fans at yankee stadium.
  12. the yankees dont have the arms? How we can we sit around and watch this lifeless and frustarting team and even dare to critisize the yankees. Another must win hangs in the balance and we make the only bullpen shittier than outrs look like the best in the league.
  13. els, you hit the ******* on the head once again. We always seem to make a mess out of something most teams handle with class. I dont know why the papers or fans are even talking about this. Nomar was here now he is a cub. End of story. Now what about this s***** manager and the problems we still face. Bad mouthing nomar or even defending him is ridiculous. Who cares whether or not he faked his injury. Who cares who said what. He's cub. Theo has made some great moves and some really awful ones. I dont get why we get side tracked..All I want to do is win. I dont care who does it or how we do it--I just want to win. Personally, I was glad to see Nomar go. Time to win games and give this other s*** a rest--once and for all.
  14. Manny has been just dandy--other than the bizarre few games with the hamstring. Manny has cchanged completely from last year, and it shows. He has been pretty damn good for the most part in the field and his arm is surprisingly good. There is no body who can hit like manny and he is an rbi machine. When we win a tight game and all the players jump on whoever scored, no body jumps higher or looks happier than Manny. You watch. Francona is a hapless doof. He would make a great uncle, a great neighbor, or English teacher or even a bench coach or third base coach, ut he is a servile lame brain as manager. Grady was no prize but that team was new together and jelled. This year with all the changes and injuries someone has needed to fire these guys up. lThat is a managers job. Francona is a complete bust on all counts.
  15. I still am smarting over the idiot remark, but just now the wounds are heeling. Didnt manny play for hargrove in cleveland, did they play nicely together..?? as someone said the management should be finding a manager to win..not to please the players. Thats the problem now, and as one of the loudest critics of grady he had heart, his team had heart..plus, he handled the bullpen and the starters m uch better, thasn this retard.
  16. whats with the you guys are idiots...hey I didnt say that about schilling. I know I'm an idiot but not about this.
  17. schilling wants to win I would be very surprised to see him say a peep about firing f***face. He can demand a trade all he wants...the answer is no. How on eearth canm he always find a way to leave the starters in too long. PLus, timlin is overworked and embree just sucks, if I am not mistaken the bullpen consists of sev eral other pitchers. Friggin Mendoza had a couple of really somewhat decent appearences, well, great lets sit him down for two weeks. Whenever anyone gets hot terri sits them down. Kapler was on a tear--sat him down. Millar finallylgets hot sit him down. Dougie, mcCarty...blah. The best way to ensure your spot in this lineup is just plain start sucking. Bellhorn played almost every game and he strikes out more than some teams. Hargrove would be great..anyone would be better. I think they dshould make McCarty player manager..I have hunch he will be coach one day. I truly believe that franconca loses games, and I get the impression is in way oevr his head. He's a wimpee..loser, and the players run all over hjim.. And he justs kisses their asses in the paper no matter what happens. Lou Pinella, would be awesome........
  18. I have had it. The ineptitude in the dugout is just out of control. Even the announcers on ESPN blamed that game on Francona. Stevie Wonder could see Bronson was done. The lineups never makes sense. Embree must have pictures of Francona with a Goat, because there is no other reason why that guy should be allowed to pitch so much. I have suspected that Bellhorn had copies of those pictures as well, because he shouldnt be playing so much. Francona is weak, pathetic excuse for a manager. Even Lee Mazzili out managed him. It amazes me how we settle for such mediocrity. I want to beat the yankess, I dont want the wild card. It's f***ing august 5th and we are O-u-t of the hunt with the yankees, clinging to stay in the fight for the wild card. We lose games we should win, we lose games we should lose, and we hold on to win games by 8 or 9 runs. The weekend we lost two games we should have won...poor managing and alan embree. Wake up citizens of red sox nation---we need a new manager today.. Where's stevie wonder when you need him.
  19. I agree with every word of that. I applaud the fearsome foursome for having the balls to do what's right for the team and the fans and not bowing to the star pressure. Nomar turned down 6o million for four years. If he love it here so much he would have suffered through making 15 million a year to stay here. The cubs will have a honeymoon period but enough pop-ups in clutch situations and few mysterious injuries and they will whining to send him back! they can have him.
  20. I despise bellhorn and think he really really sucks-the strikouts alone are a drag ion the offense, and the hands of stone are a drag on the defense. We are a much improved team without him. Youk in the line up and Meuller at second is a step up. Period. Levae them there and watch what happens. I will admit admit that Gutierrez is not bellhorn, but pokey will be back soon. Crespo is worse than all of them. I like Youk in there and this opens that up.
  21. I would agree but i am not going too type it out.....Last time every one here said schilling was a lock--we lost. I am in an embree hate over drive world, but that aside. The devil rays are just what the doctor ordered. I dont understand the juggling at all, though and i think one reason our defense is so god awful is that there is no consistency and no one plays one position long enough to build any flow. Thank you Theresa Francona. speaking of embree, why isnt everyone yelling about the bullpen...We shoulda got Mota from the dodgers... If I hear the management yap about our ERA one more time I am going to scream (again)...when you give up the most unearned runs in the majors, of course, your ERA is going to look better. DUH. Between Francona and our middle relief we have given away enough games to put us contention with the Yankmees, I dont get why poepl arent screaming about this. I am sick of the lets wait for williamson battle cry. 1/2 game out devil rays and detroit coming up and the devil rays again....LETS WIN SOME!
  22. good bye and good riddance. I wish him all the best and hope the cubs fans like the pop-ups in key situations, and the surly attitude in the clubhouse. It's time to worry about the problems we have with the living, and to let go of the dearly departed. Face it the guy at the very least has been crying like the bitch since the A-Rod thing. Iam not saying he faked his injury but he defiinitely put his little heel ahead of the team.I n much the same way he stupidly swings at the first pitch wuithout working a pitcher and helping the club.f***him,f*** mia, and f*** the cubs. He turned down 60 mill for 4 years, and I'm glad he did. Tat-ta and dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
  23. come on, bellhorn, out, who cares. I wont miss the mandatory two strikeouts a game, and his fielding has been a disaster. The best news is that it prohibits that dork francona from need less juggling. Bill can play second and Youk, gets in the game. This is good news for a change. Now if only someone would brake Embree's kneecaps, then we could limit Francona's obssession with using the worst guys on the team and we actually be able to make a run at this thing.
  24. fine we made some great moves, but I cant understand why poeple arent screaming about our bullpen....Embree is just awful and francona always leaves in the starters too long, maybe he is hoping not to use the bullpen.. But thes last two games have without a doubt solidified very clearly why we are a 500 club. Are we going to wait for williamson the whole god damn season. I know Theo did a good job, but that first baseman and davey roberts were a waste of time. How about a middle reliever. Unless we are ahead by 5+ runs we just make every game an aventure. Perosnally, I think francona is the worst manager I have ever seen, and I long for someone as bad as grady that would be an improvement. Now before the wave of dont be so negative attackscome my way. Is it negative when you are realistsic. That whole team ERA thing is crap. All I know is when someone from our bullpen comes in I know it is going to be a bad night, and you know what I am right way too often. we need to win more than 3 or 4 games in a row and then lose them all back.
