  1. I agree with you about Pedro. He is like an old sports car, verfy fragile, butr still sleek enough to drive around occasionally. Unfortunately, he just doesnt get the mileage he used too. I think with the dough we'd save from Pedro and Lowe we could get some kick ass kid to do the job. I hate to see Pedro go, though, I have visions of fat-ass clemens going on for another decade.
  2. I dont know about you guys, but I feel like every team we face scores off us in the first couple of innings. And have to get caught up. Is there something Wallace is or isnt doing to help these guys with preparing for a game. I just dont know. I am also getting a famliar knot in my stomach about Lowe and Pedro. These guys just dont seem to be overpowering anybody, That at-bat last where Pedro took 15 pitches to stirke that guy out. Pathetic. Pedro has become so friggin fragile. When he gets hit by a a ball up the middle I see base hit and a stint on the disabled right around the corner. I am so sick of pitch counts. I know we have 30_+ wins, but our starters aint living up to their ability and that you cant blame on Trot and Nomar. Someone help me out here. I have that knot in my stomach...
  3. I am always tempted to look for problems. I know the team has been incocnsistent, but boy, they are an exciting bunch. It's such a long season and we aint going to win them all. On a positive note-I think francona is so much better than Grady it's not even funny. Of course, I thought Grady was awful from the get go, and never really could find a way to like anything he ever did. I like tony, though, he has a good gait, appears to keep everyone playing, and is a leader. he appears to make the right decision more often than not...and his hunches are right more than they are wrong. He also seem wonderful with the press, which is half the battle in the olde towne. I think bill mueller is injured but wont admit. I think we're in first place without nomar and nixon, and foulke is a gem I like what I see. I think they handles the Kim thing wonderfully. He stunk, he's gone. It feels right this year-what do you all think?
  4. clemens as the closer...sort of like Eck. God forbid, huh.
  5. That's true, I think for the most part the defense has been pretty impressive--given that we have to improvise a lot of guys into different and difficult roles. Daubach in left, McCarty, etc everywhere..The one part of the equation that concerns me, is Bill Mueller--his throwing has looked really strained. I think he is still injured. His hitting hasnt been that tremendous, either. Streaky at best. As a team I think we're hitting 260+, thats moving up steadily. The defense will improve when the regular line-up emerges. How come so many teams keep getting 2 runs off of us, in the first. Lowe is always getting hit hardest early, Pedro was....Is it the new england weather, or something Wallace better look into. Happy Birthday RedSox24
  6. nice. Good case. Grady actually gave the kid a chance in rare good move, and the kid has always been pretty sharp. Certainly has the maturity and poise. And like you say he is a winner. I think Kim's awful outings have sealed the deal. So now we see. I'd like to see us get on a good roll. Last nights game was of the agonizing wall ball games, where no lead is safe and the bullpen had one of those rare collective collapses. It's nice to see the daubach's and mccarty's (nice face dive) chipping in and Millar hitting. Mueller is a bit of a concern, lot's E's and some poor at bats. Is it just me or does he seem like he is injured and not a 100%?
  7. I started getting sick to my stomach after that first double when Kimmy was throwing his pick-off's pokey, while he was still at shortstop. I never have understood why they stuck with kim, after last year. I mean they gave suppan and sauerback the gate. Brandon looked great last year and I think is a perfect 5th starter--no question. I hope they just send Kim down or ship back to the old country. Even mop up duty is too much for that guy. Remy was saying he has no velocity on his fastball, he was lucky if he could break 84 or 85. I thought the Guardians would knock over the wall they were pounding him so hard. Poor daubs, he finally gets a start and its like a shooting gallery.
  8. "Ramiro Mendoza (shoulder tendinitis) has begun throwing lightly in Fort Myers, but is still experiencing some soreness". I dont mean to kick a korean when he's down, but kim has been and is awful. I am just wondering out loud but does anyone know what Kim and Mendoza are paid. I would bet that between them it is a lot. For some reason the redsox stick with some guys way beyond the obvious point of no return . The payoff on Mendoza for example alludes me. Last year and now he has done nothing. Kim, yeah, had some saves, but for the most part hasnt been very good. I say it's time to give the big sinanara to these guys and use the money elsewhere?
