I am not goign to argue ab out whetehr he kept schilling in too long, (because he did) or not....I am not going to say the my goldfish can tell lowe is running out of gas, but franconca leaves him for the inevitable massacre, but I will say the team appears not to give a s***, and rather than fire the whole team, most teams at least attemot to shake things up by firing the manager---

I dont think anyone would want these underachieving losers. I never thought I'd say it but man, we just suck. I blame the manager and management. One look across the field and you see a team that wants to win, that has pride and professionalism. No clowning around in the dugout, no shaved heads, goofiy bobnlehead dolls, no tantrums, no hugs, these guys play to win. I hate f***ing Jeter, I hate his guts, but I can admit I'm jealous, he plays to win, he cares when they lose. He jumps in the stands, he would run through a wall. The biggest game in a long time, and Manny looked like he was in coma, nomar looked lifeless. Fat ass hits three solo home runs and plays in the field like FDR. Franconca, leaves schilling in too long and foulke what the f***...classic choke. It's only july, the fans are too hard on the team, talk radio sucks, always f***ing excuses. The bottom line is that because these guys are spoiled brats and because franconca is a submissive wimp, we do whaat we want and play like shitheads becasue no one says otherwise. The wunderchild Theo and that homo Francona are responsible for this mess. Unless he his fired within the next few days we can expect the same attitude and the same results.

I agree, and I have been saying it for weeks. Why is it in boston the manager doesnt get blamed. We sit around and lose games like last night, and we cant understand why. Fire friggin franconca now--it cant hurt.

I went to the game last night and I liked what I saw. This weekend's series wuth the yankees is obviously huge. Not so much for the outcome of the games which of course we need to win, but for helping us find an intensity that has been lacking. We need to put all the crap behind us and play ball. I think Francona was a horrible mistake but I dont gather Theo has the balls or brains to seek a solution by firing this wimp so we are stuck with the endless shuffling and the habitually stupid timing in taking pitchers out, not to mention the constantly poor choice of who comes out of the bullpen, that being said when the starter goes 7 or 8 it appears we have a shot. I'd love to see us string something together. A winning streak generally heals any problems in the clubhouse and winning is contagious. I think it would be wise to find another starter and soon, and another arm for the bullpen, but a journeymen hack a la Leskanic but a bonafide middle guy. I havent been caught up in this first baseman discussion. Because I feel pitching is our proble, and a set lineup is essential for more consistent hitting,..Meuller should bat second. Bellhorn should be benched. and that would handle that. We are damn close to turning things around or imploding--I think the pieces are there but these guys need to find a groove. God I wish someone would take charge and and kick some ass. time to show some heart and kick some mother f-ing Ynakee ass!!! I am going to scream if they start with its just another team and another game in July crap.."It's a long season and we'll just take one game at a time" It's time for some urgency and some balls. thou shall find the most inept manager available and reward him, with words of praise and lyality and as the team falls further and further out of contention. Thou shall let the higher salaried dictate their own playing time. thou shall bring up the worst reliver in the farm system and onyl use him in tight games when he can blow a lead. Thou shall sign washed up relief pitchers and again only use them in tight games where they can blow a lead.

nomar blew a great opportunity---he doesnt look into it all lately. good to see manny back.. bronson hasnt disappointed... what happened to pokey--i got up for a second and when I got back blowhorn was in. no one seems to be hopping on my varitek looks awful bandwagon--but I dont see m uch out of him at all.

manny better be in the line-up. I would like to take tonights game, see some good hitting.... Arroyo keep the pace up and not let the big inning happen. If stay away from the gods awful part of the bullpen and retarded managing we can get a groove going. I keep saying it but I will one more time. i hate to beat a dead horse and I agree with nearly everything you all have siad. But a lot of the comments you mentioned seem to be issue that an effective manager and pitching coach might address. The whole manny thing and the current up one minute and down the next personality of this team spells trouble. We need some wins and fast. I am still fuming over starting BLowe after the break. That was so f***ing stupid. Now he is going to use derek againhst the yankees. God, Scocia would look good in our dogout.

I think, for better or for worse when you whack a manager the gamble is, of course, that the move will affect numerous other areas of the team and result in a new direction. So I feel that by picking "firing tony" it might indeed adress a lot of those other problems. Remember in the late 80's when they whacked McNamara and hired joe morgan right around the all-star break and the team remained relatively unchanged except for that and they mental and finished in 1st-winning streaks, new fire, blah..blah. you cant trade everyone and I refuse to get caught up in thinking Johnson would solev all our problems. No offense to anyone in the nation, but it is that thinking that hurts the sox and their fans-it aint no f***ing curse, it is the pervasive thinking in managment that all their other moves are fine, but that we need one or two more guys and we'd be fine. els, you hit the nail on the head. Yes, for once Tony made the right call and FINALLY yanked Lowe before it was too late. Unfortunately he brought in the wrong guy in to pitch and then left him in too long. Alan embree has one pitch a straight down the middle fastball, that leaves the bat faster that it comes in. Embree has never done anything and should be realesed. The Mendoza fiasco continues..that makkes a total of about two or three good innnings for 6 mill. I know its politcally correct to insult Theo, but sheesh...we need something--I was never too sastitfied with last year's in season moves and I hevnt seen anything this year to change my opinion. we are in the hunt but I dont think this team is going to respond to the dim witted, non emotional, always wrong slow moving irrational style of a tony franconca. Dave Wallace is my opinion is no prize either. WE need someone with some fire in his belly (a la Lou Pinella) some one who appears to mind losing.

I agree with els we got what we knew we were going to get. Pokey has done well and been asked to play hurt, to cover for nomar and to do things and meete expectations way beyond thje call of duty. Saying that and as much as I think Bellhorn sucks the big one, he has been asked to do way more than anyone ever thought, as well...and if I didnt hate him so much I would say he has answered the call. But I think he sucks I am not going say that. Pokey will be fine if that retard tony francona would just play him everday at second and stop messing with everyone.

Okay guys lets review. Take a breathe.....My fist still hurts from when Pokey got picked. So I apologize if my normally s***** typing is even worsde. Nice finish to the first half in spite of today. I felt an old sense of Mannyitis today, but at least he stayed around to play. God, he hit two home runs with those hamstrings. Foulke worries me. Damon is a God. Nomar has shut me up. Bellhorn makes Crespo look like Ty Cobb. Pokey all Leather. I still think Dougie should play more Tek looks pathetic at the pate lately. Good to fatso playing better. I love Trot. Bronson was awesome, and Lowe well, hopefully he'll turn it around. This past streak has give me hope. The despair of over a week ago is gone and we can do it. I really think Francona is a s***** manager though. For example, Foulke has never done well with this two inning crap, yet he keeps doing it. He leaves pitchers at least one inning too long. His constant line-up juggling makes no sense. Leskanic has been a pleasnt surprise.I still get the occasional suppan saurbeck flash abcks and the awful tood jones, but the healing process takes time.
