  1. Jail? Bad joke. Just kidding. Well, if he still has arms, legs and fingers I hope he can make it back. GOOD LUCK ZEN!!! :damon:
  2. The one thing that sticks out for me is this. With all the talk recently about Mueller not able to play second because of his knees, and playing Youk a little more to keep Mueller's knees fresh, and coming off of knee surgery earlier this year and last, why in the hell would they trade him to an artificial surface - especially the Metrodome??? If this happens I'll be more pissed for Mueller than anything else. Though I guess Mueller could walk away from the Twins after this season (if he can still walk)..
  3. Strange... I used to know his sister when we both worked at a Steak & Ale in Athens GA about 10 years ago. He was with the Braves at the time. I guess I'm special.
  4. New York (47-41) vs Boston (50-39) http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/4288.jpghttp://www.giantsequoia.com/assets/TransparentSpacer.gifhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6099.jpg Randy Johnsonhttp://www.public.iastate.edu/~aslagell/sumr212/spacer.gifMatt Clement 9-6, 4.16 ERAhttp://www.public.iastate.edu/~aslagell/sumr212/spacer.gif 10-2, 3.85 ERAhttp://www.familymatters.tv/navbar/spacer.gif NY Yankees (47-41) at Boston (50-39), 1:20 pm EDT BOSTON (Ticker) - After the Boston Red Sox trampled the back end of a depleted rotation, the New York Yankees hope that ace Randy Johnson can reverse the momentum Saturday when the long-time rivals continue their four-game series at Fenway Park. With rookie Chien-Ming Wang joining fellow starters Carl Pavano , Jaret Wright and Kevin Brown on the disabled list, the Yankees were forced to turn to Tim Redding , who was acquired from San Diego on July 2. The results were not good as Redding could not make it out of the second inning. Boston coasted to a 17-1 victory, avenging Thursday's 8-6 loss. Trot Nixon hit a three-run inside-the-park homer and David Ortiz delivered a grand slam for the Red Sox , who defeated the Yankees by the same score May 28. Johnny Damon went 3-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 27 games, the longest in the majors this season. Boston figures to have a harder time against Johnson (9-6, 4.16 ERA), who has won his last two starts and four of his last five decisions. The five-time Cy Young Award winner allowed three runs and nine hits in six innings Sunday, striking out eight in a 9-4 victory over Cleveland. Johnson has faced the Red Sox three times this season, going 2-0 with a 4.26 ERA. Boston counters with All-Star Matt Clement (10-2, 3.85), who is starting for the first time in 10 days. The righthander allowed four runs and nine hits - including three home runs - in 8 2/3 innings of a 7-4 triumph over Texas on July 6. Clement is 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA in two starts against the Yankees this season. (Sorry, needed the head shots)
  5. Cool. I was worried it was a knee or groin injury. thanks.
  6. Anyone hear if anything happened to Mueller last night? I looked like he hurt himself on the drive down the line, then next inning he was gone. Maybe it just looked worse on TV but does anyone have any info? Anything mentioned on the postgame that I don't get?
  7. not front page, but... http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2005/07/16/sports/16matsui468.jpg
  8. Teeheheheheheheeeeeee
  9. And quietly, fatboy pitches a gem. Bet the Yanks wish they had him right about now??
  10. PAPI! Where did Jeterswife go?:dunno:
  11. This game sucks. You'd think the Yankees would make it at least interesting... I know they are probably saving their good pitchers for later in the series, but damn. This pitching is Tampa Bay-esque. Terrible.
  12. Haha. Where did all the Yankee fans here go? I'm calling 3 outa 4. Who's pitching for the Yanks on Sunday? Clement vs Johnson tomorrow . OVAHHHHHHHH!
  13. it is true. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/clubhouse_news.asp?leaguenum=&sport=MLB&majteam=NYY
  14. They just mentioned on WEEI that Wang went down with a rotator cuff injury. Is this true???
  15. Speaking of Schilling, anybody listen to the Tuesday EEI interview on BDD? I'll need to see it to believe it, but Schilling could seriously be our next Smoltz. Smoltz himself think so. The whole starter mentallity in the closer role is touched on. Good stuff. I'll post the link. http://eod.liquidviewer.com/weei-od/Schilling--7-12-05.wma
  16. Welcome back, ya nut. I can't go but I can bump.
  17. I don't think Miller's going to bounce back this year. I think that if/when the closer situation is figured out, Schilling will take his spot. Hey, I'll take 5 innings from Schilling over 5 from Miller any game this year. If it's based on past history, I gotta go with Millar if he makes it past the trade deadline. But I'm with anyone who says Foulke. I'd rather him than anyone.
  18. I used to have this pitch... With the holes on the bottom, I'd use a side arm delivery. If you throw it hard enough, you can throw the whiffleball at about a 45 degree angle going down, then about 10 feet before it gets to the plate (about a foot off the ground by then) it would level off then start to rise. Nobody could hit it.
  19. looks like a blast. I wonder if the loser of the game has to have his wife "honor raped"? If there is a hell on Earth, it's is definitely the Middle East. http://mattias-ohlson.se/msf/images/IMGP0358_landsc_500.jpg I'll stick with Wiffleball, thank you.
  20. Use him! hehehehehehehe
  21. What the hell is wrong with Francona??? Use Rivera! Use him. Use him.
  22. Three things so far in the broadcast: What was with the fireworks and dry ice blowing???? This ain't football. Either the sound mix from the game sucks or the Detroit fans do. There were boos for almost everyone. Detroit sucks. Tim McCarver is coming....
