  1. Dammit. I didn't know you guys started a yankee game thread..... and I watched the whole damn game too. oh well. Good win for the other Sox.
  2. When was the last time the Sox and Yankees made a trade? Last one I can remember is the Easler/Baylor trade in 1985 or 86.
  3. August 10, 2005 -- Jamie Moyer was claimed on waivers by the Yankees, but the 42-year-old lefty declined to come to New York, sources told The Post last night. Moyer (9-4, 4.29 ERA) was apparently placed on waivers on Friday, sources said, and the pitching-depleted Yankees claimed him. But he owns 10/5 rights with Seattle and has thrived there after a journeyman career elsewhere. During the non-waiver trade deadline, he reportedly turned down a deal to Houston. Moyer would have been eligible to pitch tomorrow night against Texas, since his last start was Saturday. The Yanks may have refused to offer a contract extension to Moyer, which may have killed the deal, a source said.
  4. who hasn't pitched in 2 weeks. It's the Rangers, man!
  5. I saw that. Sad . Royals suck.
  6. Yeahhh! I'm happy tomorrow!
  7. Remlinger is Frank f***ing Castillo. Ughhhhh. He even looks like a rat!
  8. what the hell is with the bad fielding?
  9. According to BDD (source: Tom Shaer of ESPN Radio Chicago), the Sox will acquire lefty Mike Remlinger from the Cubs and may also have signed righty Ricky Bottalico (source Dan Roche). Anyone hear anything?
  10. Damn. I forgot about Wake! Sheesh, either we are really set or I'm really trashed.. Yeah, I'm trashed. Happy Monday, y'all!
  11. My hope is this. And it may just happen... I pray, PRAY FOULKE COMES BACK. Stick Schilling in the rotation (after Wells or Clement), Stick Gonzo in Miller's spot in the rotation, stick Miller on the DL and sign him for a million for next year. Arroyo who would have gone to the pen is the #4. The long spot in the pen goes to Paplebon. Delcarmen stays in the pen. But it all starts with Foulke...
  12. Sox win. I'm 10-4 in game threads this year so far. Not bad..
  13. Sean McDonugh used to do the same thing.. He was an asss.
  14. Glad somebody brought that up. Bradford's been great so far.
  15. Intentional walk to.... Tony G?? :dunno:
  16. Man, if this were Millar at 1b, there would be real boos coming down on Fenway right now...
  17. I wouldn't boo Miller. He's not some scrub who sucks, he's a good caliber starter who's trying to come back from injury. He's looked tired out there. Hey! DOUBLE PLAY!
  18. Well, 5-4 so far. Miller is really walking a tightrope.
  19. The worst ones this year had to be the White Sox announcers. "Put it on the scoreboard, YEAHH". *******s ruined the entire series.
  20. Damn. Sorry, I actually got the NESN broadcast tonight. And Patigini absolutely sucks on D at 1st. He's much worse than Millar. And it also explains a few of those errors in Minnesota. Be gone with him.
  21. I sometimes LOVE slugfests... 4-3 Red Sox!
  22. damn. Mueller must be hurt.
  23. I think this is going to be a shootout. 9-6 is my call. Lineups: Texas Rangers D. Dellucci LF M. Young SS M. Teixeira 1B H. Blalock 3B A. Soriano 2B P. Nevin DH K. Mench RF G. Rodriguezhttp://www.public.iastate.edu/~aslagell/sumr212/spacer.gif Wade Miller 2-3, 4.95 ERA http://www.public.iastate.edu/~aslagell/sumr212/spacer.gif 4-4, 4.78 BOSTON (Ticker) -- Wade Miller seeks his first three-game winning streak in nearly two years Monday when the Boston Red Sox open a series against the Texas Rangers. Miller (4-4, 4.78 ERA) picked up his second straight victory Wednesday despite yielding five runs in six innings against Kansas City. Miller has not won three straight games since August 6-16, 2003 when he was a member of the Houston Astros. The 28-year-old righthander is 2-1 with a 3.50 ERA in five career starts against Texas. He also is traditionally a great pitcher in August, posting a 13-4 mark in 22 lifetime starts. Texas counters with Ricardo Rodriguez (2-3, 4.95), who looks to notch his first win since June 18. He was reached for six runs in seven innings of Wednesday's 8-5 loss to Tampa Bay. Rodriguez has faced Boston four times in his career, going 0-2 with a 7.32 ERA. The Rangers are coming off a series victory against the Baltimore Orioles . In Sunday's rubber game, Texas posted a 9-3 triumph behind seven scoreless innings by rookie Chris Young and three RBI apiece by Mark Teixeira and Gary Matthews Jr. Boston dropped two of three in Minnesota this past weekend, but salvaged Sunday's series finale, 11-7, behind All-Star sluggers David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez , who combined for five hits, six runs and five RBI. The Red Sox have taken four of six meetings this year.
