  1. Ever notice that Renteria looks like a lizard? Nice dinger though.
  2. So let me get this straight.. If Baltimore loses to Toronto tonight, the Yanks are 1 game out of 4th place. And if Toronto loses to Baltimore tonight the Yanks will be 6 games out. I guess the Yanks could hope for a rainout in Toronto . Bernie Williams had this to say about last nights "blowout comeback" ... guess it wasn't the "turning point" they hoped it would be.
  3. Ha. Tell that to the New York newspapers this morning. NY Post - "Unit Comes Up Small" NY Times - "It's Money for Nothing as Yankees Starters Labor" NY Newsday - "Big Inning Aside, Big Unit is a Big Problem"
  4. Change That Damn Avatar!!!!
  5. Ortiz is a monster. Johnson and the Yanks behind 10-2 to the Rays, sweeeeeet.
  6. What's amazing is that this team is on schedule for 91 wins even without Schilling (I THINK the math is right). Let's go Schill! Ya big lug.
  7. I saw that on YES too. I'd like to see a link, but if it's true, I love it.
  8. Why didn't Zenny start the thread??? Lazy bastard....
  9. Ha. The great thing about the Yankees is that they probably will catch fire at some point. But it will be too late. They no longer hold any edge over the Red Sox. Simply put, the Red Sox can beat the Yankees now, anytime, any place. That's what last year did. And, once Schilling is added to the rotation in a couple of weeks and one of our starters is added to the bullpen, the division is going to be over. The Yanks better make up some ground before then or else...
  10. He was missing a lot and threw a bunch of pitches early. He gave up a lot of 2 out hits. Damon misplayed a ball that led to 2 runs which didn't help. Oh, by the way. Today at 10am (and again repeated on Monday at midnight) on Spike TV they are showing a program called "Maximum MLB". I've never seen it but I think it's a lot like This Week in Baseball. Anyway, this week they are doing a story on the Sox/Cubs series. They'll have Arroyo wired up so you can hear the players yapping and stuff. I saw a preview on MLB.com and it looked interesting/funny.
  11. Did Remy smoke a big fatty tonight or is it just me?
  12. So can that other Bellhorn thread finally die? Just die. Die die die.
  13. That's the lineup! L R L R L R S S S
  14. Trade him to Japan for Kapler!
  15. Miller's got to be more effective with his pitch count. He's always at 100 by the 6th inning. This year, in 39.1 innings, he's thrown a whopping 683 pitches which averages out to 17.4 pitches per inning. He has been MUCH better at Fenway though: 2-0, 2.55 ERA, 20 hits in 24.2 innings, 16K, 9BB and a .220 BAA. But again, in 4 starts there he's only pitched an average of 6 innings. The good news is that in 2 of his last 3 starts he's gone 7 innings, so maybe he's getting more comfortable. :dunno:
  16. Sox in 1st by the All-Star break. MY CALL!!!!
  17. Ahhhh. I knew you'd start the thread. I was going to, but your "undefeated in my game threads, 0.00 ERA, blah blah blah, something about a prospect, blah blah blah" post last night made me wait. Anyway, I hope Arroyo goes 6+.
  18. This top one could work. http://www.sportsfan.com/dimages/columns/slick-stats-tracking-oil-can-boyds-comeback.jpg
  19. O's 4-0 in the 8th, Yanks 9-0 in the 9th. 0's all around I guess...
  20. I can't figure out Wells. He either gets killed or is dominant. I think he's had only 1 so-so game (7 innings and something like 4 runs).
