  1. Thanks Ms. Cleo. The fact that we're 1.5 back and have played HORRIBLE is the reason I'm happy. The Yankee team is better than the way they have played, which means they should open up a lead in the 2nd half.
  2. Schilling was consistently 87 with his fastball, topped out at 92 on one pitch. He's going to need more than that to be successful.
  3. All you can worry about what he's done so far this year. And this year he has come through in clutch situations. 1.5
  4. Rodriguez, 2005 RISP- .302 AVG, .927 OPS RISP, 2 out- .310 AVG, 1.001 OPS Close & Late- .317 AVG, .969 OPS
  5. Sheff smoked that ball.

  7. Leiter is better than anything else we'll throw out there, so whatever. He might be able to do something good for us. I certainly feel better with him than Sean Henn, Darrell May, Tim Redding or whoever else we'll pull for the game.
  8. Unless Boston has gone undefeated against the Devil Rays since they came into existence, you should shut the f*** up.
  9. They're right, if they hit Ortiz in the hands he wouldn't be the same. But unfortunately, that is only something Pedro would stoop to. Nobody on the Yankees is that low. Don't get excited, you beat a guy who was too bad to pitch for the Triple A Padres affiliate.
  10. He isn't getting it reduced. 6 games for a pitcher is like one for a position player. He misses one start.
  11. " The real difference between Boston and New York? The Red Sox have a shortstop." And the Yankees have two going to the Hall of Fame? You try using your Triple A pitchers against the Yankees and see what happens. It was a throw away game, you are supposed to win. Go ahead get excited. If you don't beat Tim Redding and Darrell May, there is something wrong with you. Don't expect to see those schmucks down the stretch. What is it exactly you have against me Tex, that you keep calling me out?
  12. 3 hours before game time, I'm sure you'll get a few more Sox folks in here by first pitch.
  13. Yes, but we have 3 guys who can get out lefties and righties, you have one. Lefties are hitting .196 off Darrell May.
  14. In my eyes, you are insane. It has nothing to do with accusations or jealousy, simply respect for Ortiz having an unreal postseason. Can't even take a f***ing compliment..
  15. Point being it's the pot calling the kettle black in those instances. Anyway, the Yankee bullpen is more reliable than the Sox bullpen, easily. The only reliable guy in Boston is Timlin, and the Yankees have three in Rivera, Gordon and Sturtze.

  17. This is the game without pressure on the Yankees to win. Hopefully that will pay off. Does anyone know what kind of stuff Redding has? What does his fastball reach?
  18. During the Yankees series?
  19. That logic is retarded. It took 47 wins, we're a game and a half out. The fact that we've been hot lately does not demerit the accomplishment. Stop trying to rationalize it, our season has been just as successful as yours to this point.
  20. Oh I thought this was about his game winning homerun off Schilling, but instead its about people being racist. Well done guys.
  21. "Huge chance of failure says the Yankee fan." Like I said, Schilling closing is a terrible idea. Maybe he picked up a few pointers from Rivera dominating the top of the order. Nice win in game one, but the Wang injury is very scary. Must win tomororw with Unit on the mound. Edit- f*** Redding is going tomorrow. Ok so a win tomorrow would be nice, but no expectations with it.
  22. Yes, but the downplaying of the Yankees is mindless, childish garbage. If you've got a legitimate problem against the Yankees, that's cool. I'd love to hear your opinions about them. However, all this repetitive crap about steroids and choking just deters from the quality of the message board. It is a shame a lot of people resort to that, because it ruins a lot of the intelligent conversation.
  23. Congratulations, have a cookie. People are more than entitled to hate him, but people are f***ing stupid. That is a fact proven over and over again. He's said dumb s*** before, I'm sure. So have a whole bunch of players, even on the Red Sox. I think the attitude he has at this point in his career is a good one. He speaks his mind, so does Schilling. He called the World Baseball thing a gimmick. I know not many people have balls to say that, but that's what it is. He doesn't want to risk the job he's being paid for to do something that is useless. If you are a construction worker, you don't have to play in the company golf outing if you think you'll be hurt and miss work. Why is that any different? I agree, Sheffield used to be an idiot. But I think the way he is now is pretty much the example of the on the field characteristics you want. Hate to burst your bubble, but every player on the Red Sox does not play to win all the time. In fact, most players in the Major Leagues don't play to win all the time. It's tough to define, but I guess the easiest way to put it is Sheffield always plays 100%, whether he's hurt or not he will give all he can. I admire that fortitude. Guys like Sheffield, Jeter, O'Neill, Matsui and Rivera who always go out and give you 100% are the guys I like. Well first off, yes the guy did punch Sheffield in the face. He showed a bit of restraint, but not much. Regardless, it is besides the point. There is no reason for Sheffield to be put into that position, the fan has to keep his hands to himself. If the Red Sox fan wasn't such an idiot, the whole thing would have been avoided. Soriano was 28 when traded, Rodriguez was 29. Soriano has 0 World Series rings, Rodriguez has 0. Rodriguez has better numbers all around as compared to Soriano. What the f*** are you talking about? No I mean the Red Sox infield has 20 homers, and Rodriguez alone has 22. Merely pointing out the stupidity of the post. The only way that rambling could have made sense was if he was on coke. This is what I mean when I say, people are f***ing stupid. That has no material value and is simply there to get on the nerves of any Yankee fan. No response makes it look like you won the argument, and a normal response would be about the same caliber of intelligence which is around a 48 IQ. Every post is "Yankee fans are so dumb." "They took steroids, A-Rod cheated." "CHOKERS!" Is that really the extent of your intelligence?
