  1. However, teams who ice the puck won't get a line change. That is going to be a pretty huge difference for the game as well. If you are being pressured, you won't be able to get fresh legs out there by icing the puck.
  2. I'm looking forward to that game, big time. I think I'll take the over on Strikeouts for this game.
  3. You sound just like me when I talked to panicking Yankee fans earlier in the year. It will definitely be an interesting finish.
  4. I was going to a party but it got cancelled, so I'm stuck here playing Madden. Figured I'd test a few IQs as well, because I'm bored as hell.
  5. Willing to put money on that?
  6. haha? Those terrible, God forsaken Yankees are 1.5 games back now.
  7. Take an English class and get back to me, and then talk to me in October.
  8. This thread went to crap pretty damn quick.
  9. They showed MacDougal warming when the Yankees got a man on. They went to the kid with the 7.24 ERA. Only logic behind that is Mac got hurt.
  10. Don't blame KC, the Yankees are just good. (Should have turned the DP to end it when the had the chance) I believe MacDougal got hurt, because he was warming during the 9th.
  11. I don't see how it hurts. If he's taking plate appearances away from Tony Womack, it's definitely a good thing. Scott Proctor was sent down to make room for Lawton.
  12. You know, the MVP? Good all around win for the Yankees, nice to see Bernie get a hold of a couple too. More importantly, Randy Johnson looked somewhat like Randy Johnson yesterday. Royals or not, he threw harder, had more control and had more bite on his slider. This is a start he can build on.
  13. Gonchar went to Pittsburgh if I'm not mistaken. It kills me to see Leetchie in Boston, but he'll serve you guys well. He's still got some miles left in his skates.
  14. Funny you should mention that. I said something online to my friend one day and it is still quoted in his AIM profile.
  15. While I agree you shouldn't kill Schilling, there is a genuine reason for concern. Yankee fans dismissed RJ as 'only one bad start' for a while, and he still hasn't shown up.
  16. Head to head record means squat if the playoffs are on the line. 1978 is the prime example, and more recently 1995 with California and Seattle and the Mets and Reds in 1999 I believe.
  17. Today was a great game to attend. Crowd was into it off the bat (Sheffield helped that), and Matsui proved once again that he is the f***ing man. Cute girl with a lower back tattoo agreed with me, she had a sign for Hideki a few rows up. Lots of Navy guys in my section for the game. There hasn't been that much seamen on the bleachers since Michael Jackson attended a game with the Boys & Girls Club. (yes, boo terrible) Edit- shiit, we gained a game too. Nice f***ing day.

  19. Manchester United plays a huge role in the Yankees getting exposure overseas. The clubs have a marketing deal, so they sell Yankee merchandise wherever United things are sold. Steinbrenner may be up there and insane, but he's still pretty clever.
  20. Wow, KC has really helped us out this week.
  21. Ron: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast! Champ: It jumped up a notch! Ron: It did, didn't it? Brick: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart! Ron: I saw that! Brick killed a guy! Did you throw a trident? Brick: Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident! oh well, at least I can play Madden tonight.
  22. Give them their own record book. Whoever tests positive for steroids gets into the steroids record book, and whoever doesn't stays in the regular MLB book.
  23. Mike Mussina is a sexy beast. Let's see him come up big today, so I can attend the sweep tomorrow.
  24. That's pretty.. weird. As long as he'll be ok I guess it's not a big deal. But not the most common injury to befall big league pitchers.
  25. I think A-Rod is capable of playing 3rd, and Jeter really isn't. That's why the move made more sense. Alex hasn't made an error in 53 games (best among 3rd basemen this year) and had not only handled the position, but has begun to excel. I don't think Jeter could have done that, his abilites limit him from playing an effective third base.
