  1. He out K'd Johnson, but guess what. Unit out 'won' the game, and that's all that matters. Wakefield 1 run, Johnson 0 runs. Guess who the winner is. You take the strikeouts, I'll take the game in the standings.
  2. NO I'M NOT. I'm saying its stupid to think you can't possibly lose any of your lead this week when you are playing a team you don't win against. Jesus f***ing Christ, I'm done explaining this.
  3. Despite their success, I still am not intimidated by Tampa Bay. Perhaps it is foolish, but they're still the f***ing Devil Rays.
  4. Why the f*** does everyone bitch about this? Stop using 800x600 screens, and it isn't that big of a deal. 800x600 is for blind people.
  5. Because every time Giambi hits a homerun, people want to bring up steroid talk. And he's been hitting lots of homeruns.
  6. ... ermm Yes he's pitched very well against us, but owned is tough to say because of that one pitch.
  7. And your 'hardest' team has been Toronto (Besides the Yankees, anyway). See the parallel?
  8. Ok listen. It doesn't matter if Tampa or Toronto is better. We have owned Toronto this year, you haven't. That is nowhere near the point. We have an easier team to face this week, this has already been established. The team you are playing, you have struggled with and is better. So wouldn't it be foolish to not be worried about losing some ground? I'm not here to try and belittle the Red Sox, and not everything is an attempt to be a shot at anyone. All I'm saying is that it is well within the realm of reasonability that you will struggle with Toronto, and we can make up some ground.
  9. I'm not a muscle expert, at all. However, is there a thing called muscle memory? Like if you bulk up and then lose it, it'll be easier to get back than initially? I have a feeling that is a major part of his stronger looking body. Correct me if I'm wrong on that though, because I'm not sure exactly how that works.
  10. The fact that you were using a MLers opinion as a fact. John Kruk has an opinion, doesn't make it true just the same as Eck. Improved mechanics, are EVERYTHING. You can generate more power and make more solid contact. I used to have f***ed up mechanics hitting, I worked some of them out and now I hit the ball harder and further, which no additional muscle. ARod is hitting .320, which is higher than .1000 any day. Sorry, I know what you meant, but it should've been 1.000. And Mattingly is one of the better hitting coaches in baseball, I'm glad we picked him up. My honest opinion, is he's just healthy and clicking.
  11. I don't think you should fret much over the managing of the game. Randy Johnson was entirely dominant, and there wasn't much that you could do. Although, I guess any other lineup couldn't have done any worse.
  12. John Kruk is a former major leaguer. I don't give a f*** if someone is a HOFer, that does not mean they know the situation. Hmm.. I wonder why he lost all that weight. Maybe the GIANT f***ING TUMOR had something to do with it? Or perhaps the parasite that was eating away him. Tumor goes away, and he gets back to normal. Parasite's gone and he's got some weight again. He doesn't play baseball for a year, and starts picking up his mechanics again, during midseason. He gets strength back from working out. I don't see this "increased weight" during the season. He got his mechanics back in order, and got his bat speed back to normal. Spring training http://espn.starwave.com/i/page2/photos/040405giambi.jpg Today vs. Boston http://us.news3.yimg.com/us.i2.yimg.com/p/rids/20050911/i/r510314365.jpg?x=380&y=268&sig=tFaV2s96ElTFXYhl9BEkAA-- Someone tell me, why it can't be that Giambi got mechanics fixed from working with Mattingly and getting back into playing shape?
  13. That is not the point, the point is you have struggled against Toronto, and that's who you are playing this week. They were making the argument that the lead would be held during the week. Therefore, this week's opponent is all that is important. And Toronto being better than Tampa is true. Which means that this week the Yankees have the advantage, because they are facing the easier team. Thanks for making my argument. Are you really that dense, or am I going to have to spell out every single one of my posts?
  14. You don't have to keep reminding anyone it's talksox. I'm well aware. That doesn't make my opinion any less valid, however. If opposing opinions aren't allowed, then isn't this whole idea of a message board pretty stupid? I do like it here, but I can't stand pointless speculation. The fact you need to face is, there is no evidence, period. People can gain muscle.. unless you think you are born with them. If you are going to have some EXTREME artificial bifurcation, then go right ahead and say steroids or HGH are the only way. However, that is just being blindly biased and ignorant. Oh and by the way Talking out of ass: (pron. tawk-ing, ahs)- To make an argument with nothing as evidential backup. (see also, bias)
  15. Yes, but the Jets had Pennington miss most of training camp while Brady got to learn the new offense a little quicker. Just saying, don't count out the Jets because of today.
  16. I still think they'll challenge the Pats. Everyone is out of synch with the offense, new coordinator and all. In a few weeks when they start clicking, they'll be tough to beat. They are REALLY missing Jason Ferguson on that D-Line.
  17. Steelers looked really good today, I was skeptical. I think they'll win more than a few games this year.
  18. espn.com should have it.
  19. So your evidence is, he's playing the way he has in the past? You'll be laughed out of court. I'm sick of this steroid s***. Nobody will be able to prove anything, so its all speculation. Until we have someone suspended, Palmiero style, it's useless to try and belittle players who haven't been caught. I would love steroid testing to be ramped up, but until it is I find it tiring to accuse guys.
  20. If you are going to be confident you will hold a lead, you have to be confident you'll win. If you don't like your chances against Toronto, then you can't be depending upon Tampa to keep your lead. I think what you meant to say was 'even if we don't do well against Toronto, I don't expect the Yankees to beat Tampa Bay.' That is a non-controversial, easy way to put it.
  21. Be afraid.
  22. Yeah, because you guys have owned Toronto...
  23. P R O V E I T. I don't know how much clearer I can make it. Until you have proof, you sound stupid. And don't tell me about talking out of my ass. It's amazing, I use these things called stats in my arguments and keep everything pretty reasonable. If you don't like the fact I'm calling you stupid for talking out of your ass then stop doing it. Or just ignore it.
  24. Jets laid an egg, but I somewhat saw that coming. It's going to take a few weeks for Penny to get this offense down. How apparent was it that we miss Jason Ferguson?
  25. Who are you rooting for? The God damn Jets.
