  1. Go all out or don't go at all Johnny. Either the beard and the hair, or neither. You can't just choose the beard!
  2. Why is it not realistic for the sox to get Milton? Isn't he a FA next year? And I wouldn't want the big unit on the sox, even if he is dominant. Too old for my tastes. He just looks like he's about to fall apart.
  3. I think I'll move this to general baseball talk. Funny though, A-Rod got owned.
  4. Hey, soxaholix is awesome! Red Sox stuff in cartoon format! Cool! New bookmark.
  5. But we can't just go after the entire A's team. Money and economical factors are still important. Sabathia might be a better value, comparatively, than Zito in a few years.
  6. He doesn't perpetuate the idea of the curse though. I read that site as well, its a great site. Its just a name for a blog JM, his posts are really insightful actually and he doesnt say stuff like: "the sox lost, THE CURSE LIVES". Check it out for the next few days, you'll see. Badmotorfinger, you have good taste.
  7. Amen! Remy's smart, an old time guy. He likes seeing the type of baseball that I like to see. Stealing and sacrificing!
  8. If they eek this one out I'll be happy. We need to score runs early on though, so we dont face these situations!
  9. Personally, I attribute it to the crazy schedule we've had. We dont play a game for 4 days, and then we have 2 double headers in 4 days. It throws the rhythm off, ya know? Pitchers get messed up, hitters fall into slumps, and then go 6-6 the next day. Its crazy. Hopefully mother nature treats us well from now on.
  10. What just happened with Pokey's throw getting by McCart? Im listening to it on the radio and its really confusing.
  11. Yes my disciple, that is true! Not necessarily JUST because of the scenario given, but because if he is succesful, its a runner in scoring position! Thats a run that you wouldnt have otherwise!
  12. I don't think anyone is arguing with this. I never said Nomar wasn't great.
  13. Lol, which is characteristic of bad pitching...... It seems that we do fine later on in games, I dont recall our pitching staff truly blowing a game we had won yet this year. Its more in the early stages that we falter. Oh well, better early than late, right?
  14. Welcome to the site man. And I heard it mentioned on the pre-game on NESN that they thought he had a shot at getting back, since his citizenship thing was earlier in the day and he was scheduled for rest on Saturday anyway. He's probably just chilling in the clubhouse though.
  15. I think this too at times. Whenever he ranges over to his left behind second and bends over to scoop up a ball, or if a sharply hit ball comes screaming off of the grass and bounces right in front of him, I always picture Nomar bobbling it or missing it. Nomar is great defensively, I love him and would take him over Pokey any day of the week, but those thoughts plague me as well.
  16. Not overrated, underrated. He just hasnt matured yet, or hit his groove. He'll do great things in the future, you watch! I dont think he should be #5 right now, Bronson has been pitching better. He will eventually get a spot in SOME rotation, relatively high up. Mark my words!
  17. It's just an ugly, ugly game. Oh well, these things happen I guess. But at least we aren't losing!
  18. nice sig yankshater
  19. And we manage... oh no wait. Its tied now. Phew. How about Bellhorn with that triple though?
  20. I say it too! All this contract stuff has gotten to his head. He (or someone who works for him) thinks he's worth a lot more than he is, and it is affecting his pitching. Scott Boras ruins another one.... But on a side note, he really hasn't been his past self this year. It's been one crappy start after another one. This guy threw a no hitter two years ago and was DAMN close to winning a cy young. I dont really understand it.
  21. Manny will most likely not be playing because he is in Florida getting his citizenship. You don't skip an appointment to get one of those, baseball game or not. IT took my uncle 10 years to get his finally. Congrats Manny!
  22. He isnt great, he isnt horrible. Hes not exactly in the middle either. On a scale from 1-10 I'd say he's a 3 or a 4. But you need those guys on teams, you cant have all superstars. I mean, look at the yankees. They have so many superstars, and then they have Derek Jeter.
  23. Who would the sox give up for him though, considering he's signed through '06?
  24. Lol, its the cubs you're tlaking about, something bad is bound to happen to them and they won't make it. Think Steve Bartman. Anway, another thing I thought of is the fact that the team (albeit with different players) HAS won without pedro in the past. He's been on the DL for a long time over the course of his redsox career, and the team has survived.
