*Team overhypes the Big Three as the future of the franchise to the fans which gets the fans to buy in*

"The fans created the hype!"

Did you see it first hand?Portland has no problem h ticket sales no matter who plays there. Yes Red Sox management were all patting themselves on the back like they had pulled off a major victory over everyone else, so NO it was the ball club too.

Did you even bother to read what MVP wrote?

Listen, Minor League teams aren't in the business of selling people on their product. They are constantly telling people that their players are no good, that people shouldn't come to the park at all!

Like I said Portland, or Woo doesn’t have any problems selling tickets no matter who’s playing there. Common knowledge around here.

"What even is a marketing department, really?"

The Sea Dogs average 5,750 fans per game for a stadium that seats 6,866. That's 75,000 unsold tickets. That's a cool $750k of potential revenue just from tickets.

Real cold rainy weather the first month this year, but I didn’t say it was a sellout every night.

"no problem selling tickets" vs "16% of all tickets are unsold"

They sell out because they get fans to connect with players. A simple google search bring this up on the Sea Dogs, who play in my near lifelong hometown:

How They Hype Players
  • Social Media & Feature Content: The team regularly shares walk-up song lists, highlight reels (such as massive home run blasts from clean-up hitters), defensive web-gems, and behind-the-scenes moments on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
  • Dedicated Broadcasting & Interviews: Broadcasters and media staff coordinate pre-game and post-game player interviews, detailed game notes, and player spotlights to connect fans directly with rising Red Sox prospects (such as top names like Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony, and Kyle Teel).

Fenway: 6% empty

Polar Park: 23% empty (225k empty seats!!!)

I have a good idea: the Sox should start hyping their suspects.

Not to mention all the red snapper hot dogs!

I would just like to say that ticket sales at AA and AAA are SUSPECT!

It’s a well known fact Portland overhypes their inside sales staff…

Slugger is pure hype.  Total suspect…

Pessimist!!

Fenway is 94% full

Polar Park is 77% full.

Be more optimistic…

If foto shoots with Slugger is not hype, what is?

I’m just glad the Woo Sox chose a city-oriented mascot and didn’t use a polar bear that symbolizes the park/sponsor.

If they had opted for the polar bear, the Red Sox would be the only team whose AAA mascot would eat their AA mascot…

Or wRBI

How about xHR or wHR? (HRs adjusted by park dimension and opposition strength of pitching.)

xFldg% that adjusts for friendly scorers?

Agreed.

I think RBIs are weak for player evaluation.  But useful for MVP awards, ROY awards, and maybe even HOF candidacy.  They’re fine for looking at what a player did, but almost useless for determining what a player can/will do…

Makes no sense to me. How about get more RBIs?

So… more men on base?

So, a guy who gets up with no men on base all year needs to hit 100 HRs to be productive enough for some, here.

By your so called analysis yes., but how many players would get up all year with no one on base? How many?🙈🤭

How many Minor League park sells out on a nightly basis?  Is it your analysis that you have to sellout every game to have good attendance?

Paws could have just driven up from Pawtucket and taken over as mascot if they went with a polar bear.

Slugger is the GOAT. I'll be his hype man.
