After the rough 4th Sonny blanked the Giants in the 5th & 6th.

He's a fighter and I hope he wins 20.

So, true, Larry, and it wasn't like Gray ad only two bad pitches all night. He struggled all game.

Sometimes pitchers change their approach with a big lead.  Pitching well gives way to not walking anyone.

That is true, and maybe he looks better if the game was 2-1.

Anyway, the guy has been a winner, and while I often state that wins are a team stat, the SP'er has more to do with a win than anyone else in most games. It's a major aspect on Vegas setting each games' odds.

Gray is 16-3 and the team is 18-6 in his starts.

His no decision games:

4 IP/ 3 ER (6-5 loss)

2.2 IP / 1 ER (8-6 win)

4 IP/ 0 ER (5-4 loss in 10) There were 3 unearned runs against Gray.

Last 9 games were without any no decisions. He and the team were 8-2. One loss was 6 IP with 2 ERs allowed. This last win might have evened up that loss.

FYI

Suarez is 5-3 (team 13-9) 3 losses were in games he allowed 0-1 ERs.

Tolle is 8-6 (team 11-10) 2 losses were with 0-1 ERs allowed.

Bennett 7-6 & Team 7-7 with only 1 loss with 0 ERs.
